I’m sorry ash I love but Cap was right. Hear me out, the sokovia accord to some degree sounded reasonable, the avengers cause all kinds of havoc and destruction, people died, they needed to be put in check and someone needed to be held accountable but Cap. America understood something that Tony could not, what happens when the people who are giving the orders are wrong. You have to understand in the previous captain America movie, he fought against shield, a trustworthy agency that was secretly Hydra. The same people and the same government that launched project insight and let’s talk about Ross, the guy who created the abomination int the Incredible Hulk movie. Cap has every right not to trust the government. If you think about it from cap’s perspective, the less the accords make sense. How are you going to be held accountable by a government that throughout the whole marvel universe, has never really been accountable. If the avengers are forced to wait for permission, what happens when innocent people need saving, who makes that call. Take the whole Loki situation for example when he led an extraterrestrial army into New York City in the first avengers movie. The government was literally about to nuke the city to stop the invasion. (We all know what happens, cap is taking out the enemy on the ground while Tony delivers the payload through the portal destroying the alien armada an saving New York) it’s pretty clear that the agency and the government cannot stop the level of calamities that they have faced, that’s why I’m always team cap. “the United Nations is run by people with agendas and agendas change, we may not be perfect but the safest hands are still are own” - Steve Rogers

I think it's important to consider the whole government oversight thing from an outside perspective. As the viewer, we see it as a no brainer that the superheroes are the good guys with no ill intentions, and will always remain that way. But if you didn't know that, would you not want them to have some form of transparacy and oversight? To put things in the real world perspective, how would you feel about a mercinary group, more powerful than countries militaries, running free without oversight and operating with force and collateral damage across the world without getting permission from that countries government or facing any consequences? I understand if it was just "America wants to control you", but this was a global panel under the UN, not just one country. I still theink there are arguments to be made on both sides, and some compromise would be needed, but too many people only look at this through the eyes of the viewer.

The woman (Alfre Woodard) at the beginning is pissed and grieving about her son dying, and she's right to blame Stark. It really is his fault her kid died. They wouldn't have been in Sokovia if Stark hadn't accidentally created Ultron by messing around with the infinity stone. He created Ultron, with no oversight or knowledge of the team, and then had to go defeat him. Ultron tried to kill the world, and Tony is responsible for that happening in the first place.

I love how critical this movie is to the phase. Phase 3 is so so good. Truly one of their best runs of films until the phase 6 IMO.

Not the biggest Cap fan, but for this movie (up until the end) my mind was yelling team Cap and my heart was yelling team Tony. When they was jumping him at the end I couldn’t handle it. 😭😭

captain america did say "i didnt know" about bucky being the one who killed tony starks parents, but he definitely should have maybe mentioned it, but his flaw was trying to protect tony and bucky and afraid what the result would be by bringing it up

I really have to recommend that Black Widow (⚠️Don’t watch the mid-credits scene⚠️) be next, and then proceed onward to Doctor Strange. This puts the Black Widow movie where it actually makes sense, making the later story even better.

I don't understand where everyone gets the idea that Tony is Steve's best friend; they're not even that close in the comics. Cap appears in more Thor movies than Iron Man movies, and he's only on screen for 5 seconds.

Neither side is 100% right, but Steve Rogers’ side is more right morally, while Tony Stark’s side is more understandable emotionally and politically. Tony’s side was right about one thing: The Avengers were causing huge collateral damage, and the public had a fair reason to want oversight after New York, Washington D.C., Sokovia, and Lagos. Tony felt guilty and wanted accountability. But Steve’s side was more right overall: The Sokovia Accords gave government panels control over when the Avengers could act. Steve’s point was that governments have agendas, can be corrupted, and can delay or block action when innocent people need help. After what happened with S.H.I.E.L.D./Hydra, he had a strong reason not to blindly trust authority. The movie also proves Steve’s concern: the system fails quickly. Bucky is framed, the authorities rush to kill/capture him, and Zemo manipulates everyone. If Steve had fully obeyed the Accords, Bucky likely dies and the real villain gets away. So my answer: Captain America’s side was the “right” side, but Tony’s side had the more understandable argument. Steve was right about freedom and mistrust of political control. Tony was right that the Avengers needed accountability, but the Accords were too extreme and too easy to abuse.

i am Team Cap, but i SO VERY MUCH UNDERSTAND being Team Tony! to see that video tape with your own eyes, after already being shaken by ending things with Pepper etc., you gotta understand Tony. Cap's mistake was keeping this information from Tony. they needed to do a couple of things to make this movie work - to have valid arguments for both sides - to have really good fighting scenes - to make people argue about whose side is right :D they did all of that which is why this is one of the best MCU movies! i truly hope you will watch ALL of the Phase 3 movies (including Capt Marvel!!), and that you will watch shows (especially LOKI !) AFTER the Endgame :)

My favorite MCU movie! It’s a great story with some stubble political commentary, with some good twists. Team Cap all the way! It’s got a stacked cast, and is essentially Avengers 3 1/2. Chris Evans was made for Captain America, he’s good in Snowpiercer, and Sunshine. Robert Downey Jr. you’ll love in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Daniel Bruhl is also my favorite MCU villain as Helmut Zemo, massively underrated actor, he’s excellent in Rush.

Captain America is not perfect nobody is ...this movie shows that but to act like hes a terrible person is silly ash cmon. Yes I would be pissed too if I found out my parents were killed, second I wouldn't call tony and steve best friends...Sam and Steve are closer .....tony and Steve are friends and they have a greater respect for each other than they did in the avengers.
