Try A League of their Own
I feel like the phone represented HOPE in a way bc if it wasn’t for the phone the kids would’ve never been able to rely what they experienced and there trail and error which ultimately ended up helping him escape
Father of the Bride 1990
Yall have to watch the second one sooo good, shall I say even better than the first one, and more freaky.... 🙏 🙏 🙏
Ugh I love this movie🫶🏻I found it funny when yall were talking about how creepy the grabbers mask is cause I have it hanging in my room with all its attachments😂 I just saw the black phone 2 in theatres and really hope you get to react to it!!
MAnnn!! I just got out the Theater seeing Black Phone 2… and … Woooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta react to that next if you plan to just see it on digital!
I hope to see 2003 Underworld coming up been suggesting it for almost a year It would be a good pic for Halloween no CGI for quality action packed
Id love to see u guys do One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest!!
Since Trick ‘r Treat is being re-released in some theaters (and it’s on Max), I wonder is that in the horror list if you haven’t seen it?
The phone wasn’t really a metaphor, so the premise of that is that their mother was psychic in which she passed it on to her kids, Finn only started manifesting it when he got grabbed and he was communicating with the kids thru his psychic background and with the grabber being able to hear it I’m not gonna spoil it for the second one but he was lowkey psychic.
Ash worked out the movie pretty early, and Hannah had no idea. She kept talking about a Magician...
Ik this is way late, but I’m watching them react to The Dark Knight. How have they not seen Dark Knight Rises yet????
Had to stop myself from squealing out loud when I got the email notification for this. LOVE LOVE LOVE this channel, especially in October. Also had to stop myself from yelling at Ash through my screen to say 'Karma calls back' lmao. Love you guys, thanks for this!!! So much fun xx
NOPE 2022 next for Halloween !
When it comes to Blumhouse movies, they are the definition of hit or miss, but when they hit, they hit hard. Get Out, The Purge, Upgrade, The Invisible Man, Happy Death Day, M3GAN, The Gift, Split, and of course The Black Phone are all good examples of this. It’s a solid gritty crime thriller, that throws in a nice supernatural element towards it. Very basic plot that’s carried well with some good writing, and very good acting. The cast is solid as well. Mason Thames was good in another horror film called Monster Summer, and was in the live action version of How to Train Your Dragon. Ethan Hawk wish great as he always is as The Grabber, another good horror film he’s in is Sinister, and for something a little more lighthearted, try The Explorers. Madeleine McGraw played the sister, she had minor roles in American Sniper, and Ant Man & The Wasp, and she has a real life sister named Violet who’s also an actress known for the M3GAN movies. Jeremy Davis you probably remember as Upham from Saving Private Ryan, an underrated actor, check him out in CQ, Solaris, and Justified.
🖤 THE BLACK PHONE BREAKDOWN • The kidnapped kids weren’t connected to Finney until he was taken; that’s when the real supernatural link began. • The phone ringing isn’t in his head; it’s the psychic connection between Finney and the dead boys. He’s the only one who can truly hear them. • He asked about the eyes because that’s where The Grabber sprayed him when he first attacked. • When Finney’s on the phone with the boys, Gwen’s having her dreams at the same time; both inherited their mom’s psychic gift. • The mattress didn’t have enough bounce to reach the window. • The rugs are what The Grabber wraps the boys in so no one suspects anything when he carries them out. • Each ghost helps Finney using pieces of what they tried before; their failed escape attempts and Finney’s intelligence became the steps that saved him. The Grabber didn’t set any of that up like an escape room; those were just things left behind. His “Naughty Boy” game, on the other hand, was completely fatal. • The Grabber’s dead-dead lol. The Black Phone 2 will explore his backstory and how it ties into Finney and Gwen. • Max (the brother) is the same actor who played grown-up Eddie in IT : Chapter 2. Both were killed behind their backs. SYMBOLISM!!! • The cops were dumbasses. Max might’ve been high and kind of slow, but that hyper-focus had him closer to the truth than anyone else. • Kramer was a vigilante to a fault; The Grabber is a twisted Ted Bundy type — charming on the outside, sadistic underneath. • His two masks show his split personality: “Good Boy” vs. “Naughty Boy.” • The Grabber’s belt doesn’t connect to Finney and Gwen’s dad — completely different symbolism. • The Grabber’s denial of the phone’s ringing mirrors Rachel, the police officer, in Constantine; both had gifts they ignored until someone else believed. SYMBOLISM! • Vance crashed out when Finney said “thank you” because it wasn’t just helping; it was revenge through Finney for all five boys. • Gwen released their souls and Finney ended The Grabber = breaking the entire cycle. • Robyn’s “You never threw a punch but always knew how to take one” line parallels with T’Challa’s black suit in Black Panther and Cole’s arcana in Mortal Kombat. Finney absorbed every hit like kinetic energy, then exploded it back. SYMBOLISM! • Their dad’s abuse came from grief and fear; he couldn’t handle his kids having the same gift as their mom, knowing she took her own life because no one believed her. It even parallels Obscurials in Fantastic Beasts — suppressing power until it destroys you. SYMBOLISM!! • Gwen’s yellow raincoat and red boots are a Stephen King / IT nod — Joe Hill (the author) is King’s oldest son. SYMBOLISM!!! • Finney became “Fin,” the man 😉, and he had to sit next to Donna as his lab partner. What does “fin” mean in French? 😏😉😌 • The Grabber kept the phone for no real reason. He heard it ring, but only Finney could truly communicate through it. • Order of the boys: Bruce (July ’78) → Billy the paperboy → Griffin → Vance → Robyn → Finney (was meant to be #6). • Bruce, Griffin, and Billy had been dead for months, so their energy and memories faded — that’s why they seemed distant. Vance and Robyn died closer to Finney’s kidnapping, and died faster because they were fighters, so their memories were sharp, almost like they’d just died. • The earlier victims accepted their fate and faded; the last two refused to rest until Finney escaped. • The boys repeating phrases, like Bruce and Griffin, shows they’re trapped replaying fragments of their last moments. Their words echo until Finney understands the message, freeing both him and them. • Lastly, Finney and Gwen are PERFECT examples of y’all’s future kids, Ash & Hannah 😂🤍.
Ash is me yelling at Hannah 😂😂 like what are you talking about? They’re dead!
Meee! Lmao I know she had hope but girl, THEY DEAD DEAD!
Yes I have been wanting you guys to watch this since I started watching you all…. Keep up the great work happy spooky season!!!!
absolute cinema
Lights out is pretty good, check out the trailer Ash, see if you fancy reacting to that horror film
That or have you seen Invisible Man? Not really horror but kind of psychological horror
Let's go!!! Another fairly unique horror/thriller premise, really refreshing to see more of these come out recently!
Ash….. thank you so much for the hard work you put into these reactions and for turning on Monday Saturday night into a wonderful evening with this video. I’m sorry for doing this in an open forum, but I have to ask if you ever got the big box of gifts that Sharon and I sent you from New Jersey to the same place where we sent the chocolate and wine from Fortnum and Mason. I’m greatly concerned that it wasn’t delivered to you or that the address we sent it to is no longer yours. I will say plainly it contained original Star Wars movie memorabilia that I got as one of the first people to see Star Wars on opening day in New York City when I was a teenager. There were several rare Star Wars collectibles that I sent for you and certain things that I sent to Hannah….. and although we’ve got a confirmation by DHL that it was delivered I have my concerns. Is there anyway you can confirm that you got it. I’m not looking for any kind of thank you I just want to make sure that some stranger doesn’t have childhood memories of mine that were meant for you and Hannah. All our love Howard and Sharon.
So excited to see this reaction!
Honestly not a fan of this film, only watched it once but maybe a 2nd watch is needed for me to actually understand it. Can’t wait to spend some time with you guys!
It’s definitely that type of movie you have to watch a few times like KNIVES OUT to really understand what the movie is about. The more you see it, the more you understand and the more respect you have for it.
First !!! Been waiting on this since the announcement 🤣🤣🤣🩷🫶🏽
