About the “gladiator” scene. It is black and white, because the filmed those outside scenes with filters that only allowed infra-red light through. This is why some of the black colored clothing (ie. Baron Harkonnen’s robe and the Bene Gesserit’s robes/veils) look white when they’re outside. This was to show what the light looks like on Giedi Prime, the Harkonnen home world, because they have a “black” sun. There’s more info on it in this YT video, including how they used a 3D camera rig to get the clean transition shots from the color (shade) shots to the black sunlight (infra-red) ones. You guys had me laughing thru the whole movie, bless you both! I served in Iraq and was in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, I love the middle eastern culture and almost married the daughter of the minister of Education in Kuwait, I helped her and her mother fix a flat tire for them and we started dating but had to return to the states and I was 18 at the time so we were both too young lol but I had many friends there and in Afghanistan. They should have put you in this movie Ash you would have done it proud.

Such a frustrating watch. They are more in to themselves than the movie. Missed so much goodness and importance. Of course they are confused.

They are often fun. Sometimes even clever. But their costant need to rant and express opinions and theories crash a lot with their viewing. Sucks when they miss a scene or dialouge with a eye to eye discussion, or yelling while staring in to space.
It wasn’t always this bad, idk what happened. The jokes aren’t even funny anymore. It’s all low effort, gross stuff like the thumper jacking off the worm or the mom shitting out the baby. They missed so much in the first movie as well. Anything that isn’t an action scene, they don’t pay attention to. It’s so annoying. I used to love their content, but I’m strongly considering cancelling my subscription.
Listen, Ash - if you didn’t know Austin Butler played Elvis in his last movie I think your “he sounds like Evil Elvis” line is the best thing you’ve ever said.

Both parts of Dune were just magical in IMAX. The larger image/aspect ratio, the sound and the soundtrack. It was a unique experience. Even if you have watched the movies, if you ever get a chance to watch them in IMAX - do it! Movies like these, or Nolan's Interstellar, are crafted to be experienced in theaters. As always, great reaction!

Hannah's intuition is spot on at the end. The whole point of this book series from Frank Herbert was to show that there are no good guys or bad guys. He wrote the first book (first and second movie) to be a warning for people to not follow a messiah figure, which the audience didn't really absorb after the first book so he wrote the rest of the books to show what the aftermath of Paul becoming the emperor really means...
Your theories are most interesting. Loved watching this version of Dune with you guys. Can't wait to see part 3. If you ever have a chance I would really recommend the books if you love this world.

Good reaction...what u may not know is the worms aren't native to the planet. They do make spice, however...and Paul died in the south but was also born again in the south cuz of the worm pee...so that's why they said that...side note...give me x-men '97 reactions lol. Great show!!!
