Project Handover: Where We Stand and What’s Changing

Hi everyone.

Due to some personal issues, the original developer can't continue working on this project. It might take around 4 years for him to return. So, I'm taking over from now on.

To be honest, I wasn't planning to accept this at first. But after looking at it, I saw how much effort he put in, and given his current situation is not good, I decided to help him out.

After going through the design docs and existing resources, I have to adjust the roadmap:

• Scope: Open-world is impossible budget-wise (even though a lot of assets are ready). I'm scaling it down to Linear or Semi-open world instead.

• Gameplay & Story: The current setup feels more like a Ronin/Samurai, not really fitting for our Kunoichi protagonist. I'll tweak both to focus on pure assassination and ninjutsu/curse techniques. And yes, the NSFW content stays.

• Tech side: The codebase has been refactored/changed twice already and is still full of bugs. The recent combat update is okay, but core legacy bugs are still untouched.

That's pretty much it for now. I'm not good with words, but I'll try to post updates more often.
