Casefile Revisited: Pamela Lawrence

When Mosman Park jewellery store owner Pamela Lawrence was late to return home from work on May 23 1994, her husband Peter went to check if everything was okay. There, he found Pamela clinging to life with serious head injuries, which she later succumbed to in the hospital.

Despite a lack of physical evidence or any DNA tying him to the crime scene, accused thief Andrew Mallard was soon arrested for Pamela’s murder. But was the hypothetical murder scenario that Mallard described a confession, or did the police have the wrong man?

Casefile Revisited features newly re-recorded versions of classic episodes, revisiting the stories with enhanced production, fresh narration, and updated research where possible.

Horrific case. Just so sad all around. I love the revisiting of older episodes. Will you be revisiting the family court killings case? That one was so fascinating.

Casefile is the BEST true rime podcast--I started listening during Covid, and when the team is on a break, I relisten to the back catalog. Turns out I had forgotten many of those episodes so I never got bored. I like the fact the Team is responsive to listener suggestions they keep us up-to-date about their schedule (i.e. when breaks are occurring). And I appreciate that they are remastering older episodes and providing them anew during their breaks. I also like the fact they are taking more frequent breaks but lasting much shorter time periods. I appreciate their great efforts to be responsive to listener comments about breaks, The stories are so well-written and dramatised. I listen to many true-crime podcasts and have become very selective about which ones I consistently listen to. Casefile is the best true crime podcast of all of them and has kept up this level of quality over many years. Hurray for the Team. PS I also like the Q&As--like hearing from the researchers and writers.

Having family affected by the same condition I could not believe how this played out. So the early ones are written by the narrator?

just one more case proving that the police are never held accountable for their actions

It’s also interesting how Det Caporn was the principal investigator on Pamela’s case chasing Andrew and was the officer in charge/head of the Macro Taskforce hunting the Claremont Serial Killer and for years they also chased the wrong man (Lance Williams) in that case 💁🏼‍♀️

Can we start cancelling people’s subscriptions when they complain about scheduling 😂

K
Kevin · July 26, 2026

i think the biggest issue is being unaware of the scheduling, i know that’s the case for me

Love all the content from Casefile. New, old, inbetween. I have listened to every episode many times and don't mind if they're new or old. Congratulations on one of the best podcasts that exists (I assume, because it's the only podcast I've ever listened to).

Yess! This is exactly what I was trying to get across in my comment! I have listened to A LOT of other true crime podcasts and always come back to Casefile as my #1 pick! 🙏🏻

Casefile: You might want to change your pronunciation at 19:50. Celtic is pronounced Keltic. It is only pronounced Seltic for sporting teams such as the Bolton Celtics. BTW - I had no recollection of this case, so it was like a new episode for me. I suggest that people who complain about not getting a new case actually listen first before complaining. I found this to be one of the better episodes.

Agreed! It’s a nice refresher. I regularly find myself in the same boat - don’t remember the case, then am newly interested. Thanks, Casefile team, you’re very appreciated.

You have no reason to defend yourselves for why you do things the way you do. You guys work hard & do such a good job, I love listening to your podcasts whether they are new or re-runs! We all deserve breaks no matter our career choice & the fact that you guys cover such in depth content matter that can be quite dark at times I’m surprised you don’t take more breaks through out the year.

And last weeks wasn’t new either?? Sorry but I thought you said you’d be doing new ones I don’t really need the old ones redone

B
Bob Trenwith · July 25, 2026

You KNOW they are doing 34 new releases this year. Anything else is a bonus.

C
Corina Gorman · July 25, 2026

Why don’t we get a new episode?

K
Kellie · July 26, 2026

😳 Manners? You get all of their work free. How can people make demands and be so rude? When I get to the end of the eps I just start again at number 1 and work my way up to current. Still fascinating each time I listen.

Ruby · July 25, 2026

Is this for the new weeks episode? or will we be getting a new episode all together?

B
Bob Trenwith · July 25, 2026

No new episode this week.
