Case 331: Girl Meat Hunter
In 2010, a user known as Girl Meat Hunter joined The Fetish Network, a website where people with extreme sexual fetishes could connect and interact. On their profile, Girl Meat Hunter described their interests as the “easy A.B.C” - Abduction, Bondage, and Cannibalism. What was only meant to be an online safe space for creative roleplay soon took a dark turn, as Girl Meat Hunter’s deadly desires began to blur the line between fantasy and reality.

A very timely episode in light of recent events in America. "I couldn't hurt anyone" - says a (former) NYPD officer. Riiiiight, sure buddy.
I can definitely see the conundrum is this case but I felt like there were more actions than just thoughts. Stalking some of his potential victims, deleting the account, using the other site, etc.. It sounded like he was ramping up to something. Maybe even he wasn't aware. I wonder why if your fetish is affecting your marriage, you don't see you have a problem.
I unironically agree that couples should value communication above all else in the relationship. So many issues can be solved with sitting down and not just speaking honestly, but LISTENING honestly to each other. "I saw this, it scared me, can you help me understand what it's about? What things can we each do to make the other feel safer?" Neither one of them trusted the other and it just exacerbated the whole situation when they could have just like, shown each other love.
I find it so bizarre that someone can have sexual fantasies about torturing, raping, brutally murdering, and eating women and it’s regarded as a “kink”. Imagine if this case was about sexual fantasies about children, where people used a social networking site to discuss their fantasies and post pictures of children they knew for others to comment on. I wonder if it would still be considered “kink shaming” then? It’s a very interesting double standard we hold in society. This case was fascinating from that perspective.
I wish there were a place other than this comment section where I could help you understand the roles that both fetish content and censorship play in western society. It might not change your opinion, but at least you'd be better informed about how that kind of thing works. I know I'm Official Shitposter but anti censorship is an issue that's really important to me and I spend a lot of time trying to educate people about it.
A very appropriate episode for American listeners.
What is that supposed to mean
I couldn’t listen to the torture-sex-kidnapping episode from last year (or the toy box episode) & thought this would be the same. Some things are just too grim & I struggle to have relationships with (honestly) men, knowing how some of them think about hurting women. But this turned out to be a very interesting listen. I think he conspired to commit serious crimes: if I think about hurting someone, it’s a thought. But when I speak to somebody else & plan to attack someone, it’s no longer a thought, it’s a plan. Regardless of follow through.
Oh hon. Be careful, but don't be afraid. I'd hate to think you were keeping yourself from forming a meaningful and fulfilling relationship because of fear. If it's bothering you, maybe take a break from true crime for a little bit. Extreme fetishes are common, but extreme violent behavior is pretty rare despite how it may seem if you're in TC circles. Real people who do BDSM, even extreme stuff, are super anal (pun intended) about safety, consent, enjoyment, and aftercare, and creepers get pushed out of the group really quickly. Most modern men are actually looking out for women more than ever before, with programs aimed to educate people about what abuse looks like and to support survivors. I'm one of them! And it's gonna be okay. Take care of yourself.
this might be the one episode i can’t stomach listening to
I thought that initially too, but it doesn’t end as badly as it starts. Persist in small chunks if you can
This was a really tough listen but I’m so glad I stuck it out until the end. A really good case.
How are there people in the year 2025 subscribed to the premium feed of *a true crime podcast* that are this disturbed by… descriptions of fantasy role play?? We’re here to listen to stories of gruesome murders on a weekly basis but some guy jorkin it to his own kinky fiction is a bridge too far????
Perhaps realise that people are different.
I didn't find this a hard listen - it sounds like it is going to be worse than it actually is. I thought it was a good episode, interesting! Agree, his online activity is disturbing but he didn't commit a crime
I came to the comments specifically to sus out whether this one would be a tough listen or not - so thank you!
Someone here is in desperate need of a filter. And a recognition that his wilfully indecorous comments are funny only to himself.
He’s right behind me isn’t he
uuugggghhh some of the comments on this post Hey guys, I'm a fetish artist and most of my friends are either fellow fetish artists or at least fetish enjoyers in some capacity or another. Our circle of bondage buds has been fighting this fight for *decades,* trying to be patient explaining to a bunch of reactionary kneejerkers that no, thoughtcrimes are not a thing and yes, everyone you know including you engages in fetish content from time to time, either knowingly or unknowingly. Let's put that aside since Casey and Co already talked about it, and address the "all gross fetishes should be banned" argument that comes up whenever normies get together, because this has also been something we've been fighting online and are *still* fighting online in the form of internet puritanism and sanitized social media. What constitutes "gross" content? Everything. Literally everything. You know why? Because once the "extreme" stuff gets banned (and kidnapping/bloodplay/humiliation/torture/cannibalism fetishes are NOT extreme you fukken virgins, you sweet summer children, you have no inkling of what people get off to) the people doing the bans, or those who come after them, will keep pushing the envelope and moving the goalposts further and further until there is not an inch of exposed skin left on the internet, AND THEN THEY WILL COME FOR EVERYTHING ELSE. There is a law proposed in Michigan, right now (Michigan! the state whose claim to fame is "some of our kids don't have lead poisoning"), that would ban ALL depictions of "sexual engagement" of ANY kind on the internet AND any depiction of trans people existing or "persons dressing or presenting in a way that does not match their assigned sex at birth." That doesn't just mean dudes in pantyhose, it means women in trousers, rock stars wearing black nail polish, girls in overalls, boys in Halloween costumes. The people pushing these bans are not trying to protect anyone, they are trying to CONTROL everyone-- control what you look at, control what you say, control what you think. It BEGINS with "getting off to talking about eating a hot lady" and it ends with "you are under arrest because your skirt is not regulation length and you were walking in a provocative way." Cops are dumb though so I don't feel THAT sorry for him
Another dud. Have you forgotten your function, murder toy?
I came here to yell at you for being a douche but then had the mental image of a true crime podcaster desperately narrating atrocities for the amusement of a cold-eyed but icily handsome prince lounging on a throne in knee-high leather boots and entirely forgot what I came here to say. I'm just gonna take my phone into the shower for a while nobody come in
Good episode tho I must say this has been the hardest listen in a while - and I’m pretty impervious!
Casefile - you just keep bringing it. I had to take some breaks but my mind is spinning. Whilst his online activity was vile, he didn't commit a crime.
Oh my god, I'm on the edge of my bloody seat listening to this one and I'm not done yet. I had to take a breath. WOW!
Ban all pornography. It’s all exploitative. Without it many would not escalate to such violent fantasies and eventual violent actions.
What were the violent actions in this case?
Kink shaming taken to the next level
Yes but also wtf man I dunno
It’s not as bad as it initially sounds it may be.
The audible “what the fuck” when I read the name of this episode
Glad I wasn't alone in this.
Ewww
Not sure if this one is to my taste.
haha I see what you did there
