Meet the Artist ✶ Introductions
Hello everyone!
I'm posting my new Meet the Artist tomorrow on Instagram, but wanted to give you all the early preview as well as make this post a proper introduction.
I know if you are here know me and my art, but I also wanted to open up the comments to anyone who wants to give a little intro on themselves so I can get to know you all a little better.
Hi!!! I'm the artist Mroddestball also known as mr oddball, but I also go by Denver :) I'm an animator and character artist, I've been drawing since I was a child but was trained in animation at LCAD where I got my BFA in classical animation. My goal is to own and run my own indie studio with likeminded artists and animators, and create indie animated series like Orion's story. My goal right now is to officially start producing a webcomic within the next year and try to make a living off of my art so I can quit my day job and focus more on my art.
I love animals, thrift shopping, crafts & baking, and fashion. I love Star Trek, Studio Ghibli, Pokemon and Nintendo games. I am Mexican American so that influences a lot of my characters and world building. My favorite artists are Son Lux, Tennis, and Big Thief.
Tell me about yourself, what you like to do and who you are! Ask me any questions if you have any, also :)

Hi! I’m Rook and just a hobbyist artist :) i love folklore and fantasy and want to get into art a little bit more. I’ve been following you for a long time and so excited to support you once again!!! :D
Hi Rook! Yay I'm so happy to hear that and glad to have you back :) I think art is a great hobby to have, and I hope it brings you a lot of joy. I'm glad you like fantasy because we've got plenty of that here! Nice meeting you, Rook!!
Whats up! I'm Toby, and I am currently not in school. I graduated from High School recently and am deciding to take a gap year to work up some money for school and also a place to live with my friends. I absolutely adore your artwork, specifically your sketchbook pages, and they give me so much inspiration. Your color chouces and the expressiveness you have in your work is just 🤌🤌. I work mostly in my sketchbook in marker, watercolor and gouache, and a lot of my more polished and non-fanwork art is very closely tied to my trans and queer identity. 💚
Hi Toby! Congrats on graduating! That's a good idea to take a gap year, I did the same after high school. Thank you for saying that, I sometimes feel like my sketchbook stuff isn't that popular with my followers but it really helps to know there are some of you who enjoy it because I really love doing it and sharing it. I hope for my next sketchbook to work in some mediums like those, it sounds so fun! That's really cool that your art is tied to you in that way, it makes your art just that much more special. Keep on doing what you're doing, Toby, lovely meeting you!
Q: Did you grow your hair out? Because it looks awesome!!! ^^ (I remember your persona with a shaven head, but they look cool with longer hair too :D)
I did grow it out this past year! I had it short for the longest time and I felt like i needed a change. But yeah I love drawing my persona with 3 hairs, I thought it was really funny because i have really thick hair, even when it’s short LOL
Hey! I’m B-bop! I’m attending my freshman year of college for Environmental Biology and im also an artist! You’re actually one of my favorite artists and got me back into traditional art again, so thanks! ^^ Been drawing in color pencil since I’ve stumbled on your account and I’m not going back >:] 💪🏽Outside of art, I play violin! And I’m really hoping to join some cool orchestras this year!! I also like to visit parks / gardens often, and hoping to get into scrapbooking or woodworking at some point :D
Hi B-Bop!! That’s so cool, I love when science people are also artists! I’m so happy I could inspire you into traditional art, i love to hear it!! Wow being in an orchestra sounds so sick, good luck I hope you join one too!!
Hello! I’m Sophia!, I’m not going to college for art but I love sketching and trying to animate. It’s a slow process 😅. But when I first saw your animations I was completely in awe of how amazing they were. I think your partly the reason I decided to try and put all my ideas on paper and animate them. Granted they were not “amazing” but it was fun to try to animate like u. Your animation style reminds me of the Iron Giant and that’s like my favorite movie 🎥. Out of all the artist I follow your #1. It’s been fun waiting to see what you’d make next! I literally have a notification if it’s u. Anyways that’s all thx ❤️
hi Sophia! omg that's so amazing to hear, I'm so happy I could inspire you to animate. We need more animators in this world!! I'm honored to be your #1 and I hope you like what I have in store! Thank you :)
