CBS news interview
I gave an interview to CBS news recently and you can see it here: https://youtu.be/TQQ4AT0eDU8

How do you protect your identity on these specials you join?
"We need an army of Jims" Very cool! :D
The problem with Microsoft is that they only block Tech Support Scams through their browsers, as in Internet Explorer and Edge - which are terrible. Windows Defender doesn't always block the HTML: EvilCursor code that these scam pages abuse. You're better off using a different browser with an extension like Netcraft, an adblocker and any other Anti-virus software other than Defender. Microsoft needs to do better.
Not available in Australia 🙁
"Infamy, Infamy..they have it Infam"...you..lol
Love the comment from the presenter "We need an army of Jims!"...I am no way as skilled as you Jim, but what do you think about folks like me wasting Scammers time with tools like Bobrtc.live?
I think bobRTC is a brilliant innovation. There is no better way to make scamming unprofitable thank to continuously waste their time. The barrier to this was the cost of calls, but when they're free like this, it's just superb. I've got a lot of admiration for the developers of BobRTC.
Whoop, you're famous! :)
hi jim...i am also from india and want these scammers to shut down...lets work as a team and contact me on pkaul686@gmail.com...cheers
Yes, we need an army of Jims! :D
Army of Jims? Where can I join?
You already have... thank you Philip :)
Ok, this was a nice diversion and good to see you getting CBS coverage as long as it doesn’t negatively impact the real work you do (making the scammers more aware of you likely swings either way...). But really Jim, we want to know when we are going to see the results of the really juicy stuff you’ve been working on... looking forward to it!
Wow! Glad you're getting some exposure on the work you're doing. And right next to the Microsoft Cybercrime Center, no less! Great job!!
Use a VPN.
Video unavailable. The uploader has not made this video available in your country.
Sadly, like others have said, you'll need a VPN to access the video. It's a CBS copyright, so I can't make it openly available to everyone. Sorry.
Great stuff, Jim....I hope this gets you lots more of us subscribers. Congrats!
Nice work as always, Jim
Excellent as usual, Jim. Thank you for your efforts!
Use a VPN if it's not available X-VPN is a good free one.
Not available in Canada... :(
Gah. Its not my own video, so I have no control over which regions can see it. It will work with a VPN though :(
I can't help but wonder if Jim's work has been as effective, or more so, than Microsoft's.
nice work, jim.
Wow, you are amazing. I feel like my money is being well spent. I tell everyone I know about you and the important work you do. I was at my Moms last week and she had a VM saying her Microsoft software was hacked. She is 96 and has never owed a computer. These people pry on the elderly and people who just don’t understand. Keep up the good fight my friend.
You were awesome Jim, in the interview! And of course also with the work you continue to do! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great interview though great to see someone taking action!
Thanks Joseph... I wishore was being done.
Not surprised that the Indian cyber police won't even answer CBS they probably know about a lot of these scams but they just don't care. It's really just sad. These guys take advantage of so many people and the people who have power to stop this just won't.
I have a new approach and that's to involve a local. I have a forthcoming video where we are trying the 'turn up on the police doorstep' version...
Congratulations. And yes why hasn't Microsoft reached out to you?
I do feed Microsoft details of the scammers I discover.
Heck yeah! Why didn't Microsoft contacted you?
Are you able to use WindScribe to VPN through a USA Secure Core Server to mask your country ip and appear to be in the US or Uk? This is the VPN service Jim has mentioned and linked to in his videos: https://windscribe.com/
I’ve now seen it via VPN. Jim was awesome :D
Congratulations Jim. We support you and keep it up!!!
Not available in Japan :( congratulations on the coverage though!
I can't see it in Canada either. We can blame CBS for that. There are some workarounds. Solution: SetupVPN is a free Chrome plugin. You have to register though.
