Changes to patron tiers
Hey folks, Storm here. I wanted to give you a quick heads up to some changes to the patron tiers here on Patreon.
First, we're switching up how releases work: Gold, Platinum, and the newly-renamed Titanium (formerly Executive Producer) patrons will continue to have access to new chapters on the day of release (Day 1). Silver patrons will now receive access two days after release (Day 3), and Bronze members will now receive access 4 days after release (Day 5).
For Gold members, Steam keys will now be made available (upon request) for members for any game that they supported during its development. That means that if you supported at Gold (or higher) during the development of Bare Witness (prior to June 1st, 2024) even for a month, you can request a Steam key for it. Once Heaven's Door is available on Steam (soon!) we'll make keys for it available as well.
For Platinum and Titanium members, this benefit is expanded significantly: If you've been a Platinum or Titanium patron at any point, you can request a Steam key for any game we currently have available on Steam for as long as you remain a patron at any tier.
Finally, only Gold or higher patrons will be able to access downloads for earlier, completed games. This means that if you are not currently a Gold member, you will lose access to the Bare Witness download links here on Patreon.
(Edit: After some feedback, we're going to revisit this and see if there's an easy way to allow longtime patrons to continue to access the download links. In the meantime, we're going leave the links open to download for all Bronze+ patrons until we have a better way to address.)
We're making these changes in order lend greater value to those higher tiers while avoiding, as best we can, devaluing the lower tiers. We hope you all find these changes reasonable. If you have any feedback, or any suggestions on how to further lend value to a particular tier (other than custom renders; Slockie absolutely despises working on them, so for now only Titanium patrons can request them), we'd love to hear your ideas.

Let me share some thoughts regarding your message. I fully understand your perspective on this matter, as there are indeed individuals who pledge, take what they want, and cancel their pledge immediately afterward. However, I believe none of the guys posting here are doing that. I genuinely enjoy being part of this community and will continue to support you in the long term because I love your product. I have expressed this multiple times before. Additionally, I like your responses, which makes this channel to feel alive.... That said, when I first read your post, I experienced some negative emotions. It momentarily affected my positive feelings about being here, though I couldn't quite pinpoint the reason for this reaction. Upon rereading it, I felt somewhat stupid, recognizing the effort and thoughtfulness you put into it. So we are good, and I look forward to continuing my support for you folks... just my two cents.
Well that sucks. Supported since discovering Bare Witness, but suddenly can't download it unless I pay more ?!? How much sense does that make?
The primary reason we changed the access was because, as it stood before, someone who's never supported before could join for $5 and get not just the current built for Heaven's Door, but the completed Bare Witness. While I admit that it isn't in our best interests to allow that, we also felt in unfair to long-time supporters like yourself. It didn't occur to us that you might need to download the game again after all this time. We'll revisit this and see if there's a way to make the post remain available to those who've supported for a certain amount of time. In the meantime, anyone who has supported for $30 or more lifetime can message us directly for a download link, until we can set a proper threshold and/or set the post to be available to supporters like yourself.
I play a lot on Steam, and I bought Bare Witness there. I guess it's the same version as the one here. Is it finished, or will there be DLC? 🤔. As for what to offer high-tier subs, it's all made up 😆. If you don't want to create special renders, you could always provide well-made walkthroughs or include their names in the credits.
Names in the credits are already a perk of Gold and higher memberships. The version on Steam is *mostly* the same as the one available here, though it has more bug fixes and a different sound track (due to rights issues). Bare Witness is complete, but we do plan on releasing a small postscript to the Sadie solo ending in the future.
I don't play on Steam, soo.... 😅 BUT *Gasp 😲* Custom Renders 😛!!! *Insert hallelujah chorus* I need to see the rules on them before deciding if I want to raise 😁! Awesome, Storm ❤! Give me until the end of the year, after I finish paying for my car (final year), and I'll think about it 😁. "muahahaha" 😈
Yeah - i play on Steam but i dont like it very much - so i dont give a s... about Steam Keys and as a Military Police Guy its the same for me as for Jonathan, no money to burn, Silver is the limit i can do...if i could i would spend more but thats how it is....😉🫡😁
Makes perfect sense. I'll be waiting for my Steam keys and hopefully will come back at some point to support with actual monies too.
