Emotionally Immature Parents Club
Hi Patrons! I’ll post the audio of yesterday’s convo this evening, that conversation was really cathartic. I hate that so many of you have parents who suck, but as a member of that club I find a lot of comfort in hearing your stories and how you’ve dealt with the bullshit.
this is a screenshot of an email I just found from 2012 from my mom, it’s her classic bait and switch move of asking me a seemingly innocent question she knows the answer to, and then going off on me when I give her that answer.
I’m curious if any of you guys have screenshots / stories / one liners you’d want to share in the comment section of some bullshit your parents have pulled with you in the past.
I can only speak for myself in my one woman show, but part of me wants the ending monologue to represent a little bit of everyone who has ever been tormented by this type of parent dynamic.

How did it make you feel?

mine is a little different but my dad would make a huge deal if me or my brother dropped anything on the floor he'd shout "way to go!!!" like we were dumb af. and would blame me for little things like i said we needed to hurry up cuz we were going to be late to something and he blamed me bc he forgot somehting important.....my mom was just passive agressive. i asked if i could have a friend over one day and she said yes on the phone and then came home after work and was obviously pissed about it and was slamming doors and tossing groceries and wouldnt speak to us idk thats just what came to mind
Jeeeesus that's gotta be insanity inducing after a while.
