The Dark Bestiary | Chapter 8 - The Crimson Crocodile
My apologies for the delay in releasing new videos this year, I have been working on this video which is the first fully edited video from a professional editor. I wanted this one to be as good as I could make it in order to start 2026 with a fitting tribute to my favourite boss monster.
For Pillar Patrons and above, this fully public release of the Dark Bestiary is a one off because of how delayed things got due to this being the first time I've worked with an editor. Future non-review videos ones like this will all return to the normal schedule where you get access a week in advance.
If you like this, there are now three tiers directly tied to supporting having YT videos edited, I would love to be able to release 2+ fully edited deep dives (Monsters, Gear, Philosophies) and edited reviews as and when they reach the simulator, but I cannot afford that without support. Between 15 and 20 supporters in the Zoologist tier will support a full deepdive Bestiary Video each month. There are higher tiers available as well for those who want to support even further, but sharing, likes, comments, subscribes and all are of course always appreciated.
I am hopeful that this works out because I'm really pleased with how the edited video came out and I'd love to keep working with this same editor onwards. I just cannot currently afford it because the ad revenue from YouTube is very low due to the niche of this game and the subject matter.
Currently Planned Video Schedule for 2026
Review of KDS Glow Release
Crimson Crockery & You
Introduction to Philosophy (Currently Unnamed)
Dark Bestiary Smog Singers
Chorruseum & You
Weapon Types Deep Dive Presentation (like the Armor one, but hopefully without the goof I made over leg injuries)
Survivalism Philosophy Video
Any new KDS content releases for review
And so on.
On Friday I'll be finishing Verminism's written deep dive with the knowledges.
Thank you so much for your continued support all.

I believe blood drinker should be valued higher cause it can extend its str a lot higher than the others with goulash and crimson croc armor. If there is aerial transfusion in the party or the blood drinker bearer has the sfa it gets crazy. Its also not hard to pull all this off.
Great videon Fen. Was looking forward to it. You should be thinking of giving your voice for documentaries. I learned a few more things about crocs that didn't know. I didn't like the sound fx on the second part of the video, too loud overshadowing your voice and repeating. & You background music should accompany your videos forever. KDS if you press shift+E i think you get the bottom card of the enchanted flesh deck
I'll mention the SFX element to the editor for next time! And thank you for the KDS tip, it's such a pain to operate without a comprehensive in game help guide!
Another banger of a video, thanks Fen
Great video! If you are open to feedback, I would like to share two points that I hope you will read as constructive. One of the aspects that initially drew me to Kingdom Death: Monster was the high level of polish in its visual identity, where the mature thematic content is matched by minimalist layouts and an executive typeface. In that context, while the addition of part markers is conceptually helpful, both the chosen font and the accompanying sound effect feel somewhat discordant with the overall aesthetic of the video and of KDM itself; as an alternative approach, you might find Sorastro’s treatment of chapter markers instructive in terms of tonal consistency (Link: https://youtu.be/jyiJBhfeLZc?si=d_1poJDipRTgj4Fg&t=76 ). Another point concerns the well-researched section on real-world inspirations. I do genuinely believe that it could function more effectively as a dedicated series rather than being integrated into the Dark Bestiary format, which I have always appreciated for its focused technical analysis. My reasoning stems from how daunting I found your videos when I was still a fledgling KDM enthusiast. At over two hours, this episode risks becoming just as inapproachable for newer viewers. With all due respect, the primary task of a video editor is to challenge the creator and edit the material, and I felt that the supplementary footage—although helpful in retaining viewers with a shorter attention span—and the way it is interwoven may not fully convey the editorial clarity you successfully established in previous entries. I realise this is unsolicited, and I offer it only out of respect for the quality of your content. If you would welcome more detailed feedback, I would be glad to share it at no cost; if not, I am equally happy to step back and simply continue enjoying your videos. Cheers and a happy new year!
