Seeing this, I would love yall to listen to my personal favourite rock album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful by Florence and the Machine!! It definitely carried me through my teen years as much as mcr did, and really spoke to my witchy side of music taste. I think this one's an art rock bible for all us witches and fairies💜 Florence Welch is in my opinion one of the greatest vocalists alive and that combined with her magical lyricism just transports me into this witchy, cathartic realm of hers filled with distorted guitars and crying angels. I feel the songs give me space to scream my problems away, theyre filled with rage yet so calming. The first three tracks are in my opinion, the greatest rock songs of this century. My god, is it just a perfect album imo and I would die to see a reaction from yall lol

I can't believe I started listening to this review/reaction on YouTube almost forgetting that at the start of the month I picked up the years Sub, to partly carry on my question to request you guy listen to Kano's Made in the Manor or Hoodies All Summer, because OMG the extra hour and I just knew I needed to hear both of your thoughts unedited!!!! As always it is insanely awesome to get to see your take and reaction, especially on an album which 1. neither of you have listened to before and 2. an album that is so important to a generation of people!

A

Registered just to see the full reaction 😊 I would really recommend Gerard's solo album: Hesitant Alien ! (after Three Cheers of course ^^)

Amazing band and to me easily one of the best records ever. To comment quickly on Gerard Ways writing, he is also comic book author, most notably of "The Umbrella Academy". I don't know if you've seen the Netflix series, on which he was an executive producer, but I think it really shows a similar style and tone, espacially in the dark, gritty humor and the handling of heavy subject matters. Love the idea of you doing an A/B original/cover video. Been having that idea for a long time.

I’ve listened to this album maybe 1000 times and I swear everytime „I don’t love you begins“ I start with „look at the stars, look how they shine for you“ haha.

Love you guys going back to experience older albums! First time commenter here - I would love for you guys to react to Pierce the Veil's "A Flair For the Dramatic". I was in the emo scene growing up (which included MCR lol) and Pierce the Veil has always stood out to me for the way they incorporate their Mexican heritage and musical influence into their instrumentation. Could be an interesting listen for you guys! :)

Just became a patreon because of this reaction hahahaha I saw them live this year here in my country and it was a life-changing experience... MCR have been a huge part of my life since I was 12, I have some lyric tattooed and everything... They're incredible... back in the day the went through a lot of shit and prejudice, but they were still delivering banger after banger. I would lovee for you guys to check Three Cheers (and who knows, Bullets and Danger Days as well, each album bring a completely different experience)

a

zoudain · October 16, 2026

This album holds a lot of importance in my journey of music and self-discovery. I think I was around 9 or 10 when the album came out, and I had asked my dad if I could get it while we were at Best Buy. My step-mom saw the parental advisory sticker, said NO and made me get a CD from The Fray (not the worst but a mediocre second choice). I went YEARS after that without hearing the album in full, but when I did, man it hit me SO hard with resentment that I went my adolescent years without this phenomenal piece of work, but I felt thankful that I at least got to it when i did. I think things like that can make you appreciate something that much more, and this many years later (29 now) I see this album as a symbol of perseverance, rejection of the status quo, going your own path, and trying to not have too many regrets before you die. I really enjoyed you guys hearing this for the first time. Chris Lord-Alge (producer) stated that The Black Parade (the song) had 158 INDIVIDUAL tracks when it was recorded, then comp'd to 48 tracks, which is probably why most songs sound as full, as loud, and as incredibly detailed as they do. I do hope you guys check out Three Cheers, much less in the way of a concept album but you can hear just how talented these guys are, and with what inspirations they are pulling from. Again, pleasure listening again to this with you both, I continue to appreciate the time you spend putting these out and having these experiences. PS - really cool article/interview that talks about the mixing of the album and even shows the ProTools layout with the track, cool stuff! - https://www.audiotechnology.com/features/chris-lord-alge-mixing-my-chemical-romance

Why are people in these comments saying this was bad intel???!! As if that isn’t the original interpretation that people had since the start?? Yes there are other interpretations such as the Wendigoon was which are interesting and fun but this was the OG interpretation they are reading and it was very good

J
Jakob Reidy · October 14, 2026

I've been a fan of you guys for a while now and had to subscribe to see the full reaction to this album and so far it's been a blast to watch. My Chem are my favourite band and it's nice to see two people who have no real background with them reacting so positively. I have to join the chorus of people requesting a reaction to Three Cheers at some point as that's my personal favourite album of all time. It's not quite as grandiose in scope as this one, but the songs are just incredible, with a bit more of an aggressive edge.

M
M · October 13, 2026

i hope they dont take the user submitted analysis of this album as gospel because a lot of this stuff is blatantly wrong. wendigoon did so much damage. Mama especially is egrigiously wrong.

M
M · October 13, 2026

People always cite wendigoon for the 'definitive reading' of this album but i actually think its an atrocious theory, having to completely reorder the tracklist to make it fit. I saw aother video by K Wullums analysing the themes, especially as it relates to queerness and the military industrial complex and found it revelatory. It finally made Teenagers make sense as part of the narrative.

P
Pascal Ziehe · October 13, 2026

Flume, Hi This Is Flume is a masterclass in electronic production thats textured and catchy… it’s like nothing you heard in that area of music… also Syro by Aphex Twin (or any other Aphex Twin album). Syro is like the Most thoughtful, heady, calming drum and synth exercise from one of the goats of electronic music. It’s calming chaos but clean as hell. One can hear that it’s later in his career because it’s like an amalgamation of everything he‘s done until this moment. Would really mean a lot to me if you guys could react to one of the two. Greetings from Germany!! 🔥💜

listen to car seat headrest for sure! twin fantasy is such a profound album--the scholars (which you saw on the list of rock operas) is their newest release, but i'd def start with twin fantasy! let me know if you'd want a track by track breakdown like you had for the black parade!

k
kit · October 12, 2026

WAY way back in the olden days (2006) there was a track by track interview the band made about this record with iTunes, and they mentioned that for Sleep, they created a guitar tone especially for that song called NEMESIS!! when they used it in the studio for the first time, it literally knocked down a makeshift soundproofing wall lmaooo

S

b
becklvndas · October 12, 2026

a couple days late, but i’m so happy you guys did this album! you’re kind of slowly covering the all the 2000s rock icons (Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, and now My Chem! maybe White Stripes next?). you should really do both of MCR’s other “classic” albums; Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and Danger Days. both are great concept albums in their own right, and are both super unique from each other and Black Parade. Three Cheers is super aggressive and punk rock, and Danger Days is like a sci-fi dance party in both its story/concept and sound. that’s one of the best things about MCR, every album is different but still undoubtedly something only they could make

Jimmy Hayes · October 10, 2026

Back to back my favorite albums with weezer blue and black parade! MCR were a punching bag for so long in music hipster culture but it's so nice to see how beloved and celebrated they are now. Out of all of the great emo bands there have been I think MCR takes the crown as the absolute peak of the great genre. This album along with weezer blue taught me how albums are structured and started the development of me discovering my own music as a teen. All these years later this is still one of the best produced rock albums I've ever heard, the mix is so clear but not for one moment does anything sound sterile or "overproduced". Their music videos are incredible too and probably single handedly birthed millions of emo kids lol. Following up on the heavier subject matter lyrically I would love to see Queens of the Stone Age's Like Clockwork. Lead singer Josh Homme talks a lot about mortality after having a near death experience during a surgery. Its sound is very "rock opera" without it necessarily being linear, but definitely autobiographical. It's very different from Songs for the Deaf in tone and sound but some things carry over like Josh's great voice, chunky desert guitar riffs, and killer Dave Grohl drums on many songs.

F
Franci · October 10, 2026

officially starting my campaign for you guys to listen to a fall out boy album !!!!!!!! Kevin will be FED reading the lyrics along with the songs, their lyricism is unmatched. Fun fact, for the majority of their songs, the lead singer Patrick will read random poems Pete Wentz (bass) writes— not written as songs in any way, just like his ideas and thoughts, in phrases or short poems— and builds melodies around them. The band as a whole writes the songs together but usually it starts there with Pete’s poetry and Patrick being able to pluck melodies out of them. I would start at Infinity on High or From Under The Cork Tree. FUTCT is a good intro point to understand their writing style (imo) and IOH is an elevated more “polished” execution of that (again, imo) from there helps give even more appreciation to the rest of their work that always evolves and becomes something totally brand new. My fav album of theirs is Folie a Deux so I’d never be sad about a reaction to that, too. But think FUTCT or Infinity on High would be better first albums for y’all to hit. *edited to add this note* the band also just this week turned 25!! so the timing would be perf :)

F
Franci · October 10, 2026

If you have the opportunity you guys HAVE to make it down to LA to catch one of the last couple of shows on the Long Live The Black Parade tour. They’re playing the album in full, but also making it like a full theatrical experience with actors and an opera singer and wonderful gory effects and all. I saw them here in the UK in July and it’s a once in a lifetime experience, genuinely the best show I’ve been to in my life. So glad you guys have finally checked this one out! i cant recall exactly which interview/podcast it was, but theres a fantastic interview from around 2010 with Gerard and Ray talking about this album for like 2 hours. its on youtube somewhere. What a coincidence! I just visited my childhood home a few weeks ago and took this CD from my old teenage stuff and started listening it in the car. There are albums: Keane - Under the Iron Sea MCR - The Black Parade that really got me through some hard stuff as a kid in 2007 when my sister died at 19 and I was in the 6th grade. Both are still in my top 20 albums. Can't stop listening to this again. Wish I could've gone to the tour, but I live too far away from all the stops, in Finland. ❤️😊 Can't wait to watch this video!

Day 4 of asking TTT to react to NEVER ENOUGH by Daniel Caesar. I think this is an obvious album that Kevin would love, especially after seeing his reaction to Son of Spergy. NEVER ENOUGH is some of his most unique work and production is off the charts.
