Dad Reacts to The Strokes - Reality Awaits

Can’t wait for you guys to do comedown machine! I would also love to see yall react to any My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy albums (specifically Three Cheers and Folie a Deux) :)

I think you guys would really enjoy Julian's solo album "Phrazes for the Young." It's like a more accessible version of the voidz, heavy on the electronic but also rock instruments and clear vocals. Underrated.

can you guys please listen to Cartoon Darkness by Amyl and the Sniffers???

love you guys, hope you do Comedown Machine !!

I feel mixed on this one, I really don't hate the auto tune use but I also don't love it. i could see it maybe growing on me but I just am finding myself wanting to listen to other stuff right now

I wasnt a huge fan of this album tbh, but im glad a lot of people are fucikin with it. Ill always give the strokes the benefit of the doubt. The new abnormal was my favorite rock album the year it released. This felt like a collection of B sides from the Voidz and a lot of missed potential to me, but maybe im in the past. Maybe it'll grow on me. But ill admit, I am one of the auto tuned modulation haters for this one.

Great album, especially after first listen and understand it’s not the new abnormal anymore

I really didn't like Psycho Shit on first listen. But from the second listen on I love it. Also this will be controversial but Tyrants is my favorite Strokes closer.

You guys should react to virtue by The Voidz.

Madonna?🧐?

Do WEEN , your dad would love them

Thanks for the reaction as usual, liked it first listen and loving it even more as time goes on.

you guys should def react to beyonce self titled visuals omgg :)

so their guitars are set up in a very co-lead role, so either of them can play lead depending on the song. the more important thing is that nick will 9/10 times use more effects and stuff while albert plays cleaner or with just overdrive, etc.

start of tyrants of the mellow moon very radiohead, reminded me of faust arp

going to babble on is a play on going to babylon, some cool lyrical stuff

Love from AUS, don’t get the hate either and think it might be one of their strongest albums outside of a few songs

Fantastic reaction as always. This album really grows on you, I went from meh to absolutely loving it after a few listens, I think if you started of liking it you will be very happy with it in a few weeks time. Looking forward to the Comedown Machine reaction as well :)

A post strokes concert review would be cool. Hopefully Nick Valensi is back for Kevin to see the 2 guitars work at their best.

Tbh this is a great intro to the voidz if you wanted to show him those projects. All of virtue is a must listen and I think your dad might shit his pants to Human Sadness lol

i’d love to hear you guys react to any one direction… especially their last two albums have been major influences for pop music nowadays

you guys listening to going shopping looks exactly like the music video lol

I think this one will sink in with you guys on repeat listens. It's very firmly my favorite record of theirs. The lyrics and themes just consume you on repeat listens and there's just way, way more to listen to than on previous records. They rarely do the exact same thing twice through a song.

Connor loves to tease the next episode and it’s never Willow, or Paris Texas or him listening to Geordie Greep 🫠

the guitar on Tyrants of the Mellow Moon is very similar to the post chorus/psychedelic section of Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold

https://open.substack.com/pub/stevenhyden/p/reality-awaits-will-be-loved-by-the?r=8aiinh&utm_medium=ios “Reality awaits will be loved by the next strokes album(which will be hated)” I think this Substack perfectly describes the reaction to every new strokes album from after is this it. Great read highly recommend if you’re interested!

Feels like nothing they released would of been good enough for a section of the online music fandom out there, album isn't as good as NA but I really enjoy it and will keep it in rotation

You should watch the vídeo they uploaded called In Transit II. They show some footage from the recording of the album in an amazing house in Costa Rica with Rick Rubin

Lonely in the future is a banger

Hey guys amazing video, I think you will really love the new Slayr EP! If you have time you could also react to his latest singles as well (Keep me going, homerunner, power 4, turn it up). I think you would find these really amazing!!

CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE REACT TO GRACIE ABRAMS NEW ALBUM - DAUGHTER FROM HELL

were's comedown machine?????

i think this album is a great segue into the voidz!

Please do comedown machine as well!

Yeah really good album, in fact I like the auto tune!

i think albert is primarily rhythm guitar and nick does melody/solo

i can’t believe the fruits of conquest wasn’t a standout track for y’all, that was one of my favorites upon first listen! the i’m a leech part has been in my head constantly for the past week, it’s so good

Albert did an interview with Rick Rubin, recommend listening to it if you guys have the chance it was really interesting and Albert went thru their experience making each album and how the recording process was etc https://youtu.be/jtyxx5-ZNuw?si=mFwAEwM70eC7aOxR

the "minimum soft" line was actually julian at the end of dine n dash

welcome back! still feining for some singles lol. (hot singles specifically and also maybe also some single reactions). also you guys should totally do more elliott smith i’ve gotten super into his discography after you guys introduced me to either/or

please don’t forget about comedown machine 🗣️

Oh heck yeah. Good Monday morning watch for me. So you guys didnt get to Comedown Machine before this? Or did I just miss it somehow?

Yes, absolutely steal from big corporations, wether you have to or not

they debuted dine n dash at my show in colorado :')))

Thank you, sirs ❤️❤️❤️

HALLELUJAH 💅🏼

This album has definitely grown on me after a few listens, been excitedly waiting for your thoughts!!

Been waaaaiting on this

BEEN WAITING ON THIS! …also day 90 something of asking for Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You by Big Thief 🙏🏼

absolutely love this album. i get some of the autotune complaints, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest

Album is great. The hate behind it is so forced

OH YEAH BABY!!!!!

WE’RE BACK!
