Great commentary from yall as usual; although I think while the album is obviously personal as anything with charli there is social commentary that also dominates and the irony is stronger when everything isn’t read as personal and think Charli thrives on that ambiguity. But I know confessional songwriting trends make it easy to fall back on those kinds of readings. That reading of Yeah from genius was…interesting lmao

I've said it before here but im saying it again because of you talking about putting on country music as a reset: you guys need to review Ryan Davis and the Roadhouse Band! Very forward thinking alternative country music that is as smart and funny as it is catchy. Wildly interesting production and stylistic turns and 8+ minute song lengths that barely feel that long. Even if you don't review it, you should check it out!!!

Quite the ride, that last track… I concur with the sentiment about country music. Though not a veteran in the genre, I’d love to hear some of Kevin’s country picks. Perhaps as a he can show Connor and the audience something for an episode. With that in mind, did yall check out the new Tyler Childers album? Produced by Rick Rubin, but still sticks true to Tylers Appalachian country roots. That album had some of the most refreshing production and songwriting as of late… Grounded, honest, innovative.

I know a ton dropped today and you all are behind a bit in new releases, but I would heavily suggest checking out Portraits of Tracy’s new ep that released today. It is phenomenal and I never knew where each song was gonna go. I think both of you would love it

I’d love to recommend Q – Soul,PRESENT. I think it’s a perfect fit for your channel because it’s an album that really rewards active listening. Q wrote, produced, and performed the entire record, blending Prince, Stevie Wonder, and classic funk/R&B influences into something that still feels modern and original. The production, harmonies, bass lines, and songwriting are incredibly detailed, and I think there would be a lot for you both to break down. It’s one of the most overlooked albums I’ve heard, and I’d love to see you give it the Turning the Tables treatment. He is also about to release a new album in August, that sounds promising based off the singles. Otherwise I think Soul, Present is a good starter album to get into his catalog his old music is amazing too!!
