Would love for you guys to cover Riot and All We Know is Falling!

E
Eric Centeno · August 30, 2026

I was in high school when this record came out. I liked the record a lot when it dropped but during its era I would still find myself worshipping tf outta the first two records (still do). Once s/t dropped I felt they were already toppling the airwaves with now, still into you, and ain't it fun. After Laughter was good but TOTALLY different as an og fan. Def felt the weakest to me when it came out At that point I realized OG paramore was pretty much dead especially considering the history of the lineup

E
Eric Centeno · August 30, 2026

GOTTA listen to the first two records for sure. always been my fav although i do love all their music. Brand New Eyes was the last LP in their discog that sounded anything similar to Riot and AWKIF

Florence + The Machine is also a must!!! Y'all gotta get on that! Aight, much love ~

I was listening to Vampire Weekend this morning – hope y'all cover Contra sometime. I was so excited when y'all did Only God Was Above Us. :)

In response to a few things in this video, After Laughter was not very well received when it came out because it was such a large departure from the sound they were known for. It is was my favorite Paramore album up until This Is Why came out though, it’s brilliant. Also Kevin mentioned Turn It Off sounding like it was in drop D, actually a lot of these old Paramore songs are written in drop C# so you weren’t far off

B
Breana Lockett · July 2, 2026

this is seriously one of my favorite albums ever!

I subscribed just for this reaction. This is my favorite Paramore album, for a load of reasons. I love the new stuff, I just have to accept this was the end of this “era”

On the subject of long titles can we get Lewis Capaldi? “Divinely uninspired to a hellish extent” or “broken by desire to be heavenly sent”

Signed back up just for more Paramore. Please keep going, all their albums are bangers. btw, as a Paramore fan, when After Laughter came out I was just happy to get more Paramore. Even if it was different

i’m honestly so shocked you hadn’t even heard the only exception and all i wanted!!! you NEEEEED to do riot too!! (also the last time i saw paramore live, they brought out billie eilish for all i wanted and it still gives me chills watching the video back) :’)

this is one of my favorite albums of all time. cannot wait to watch you two react to it for the first time. I absolutely love after laughter now and think its a top 3 album for them. however, when it came out, I was a little bummed, because it doesn't have the intensity and emo feel of their older albums.

S
Sebastian Kappel · June 24, 2026

Recently joined Patreon, and it was for you guys! Been watching your YouTube clips for a while now, but I really felt like I was missing out, and wasn't that the truth! This is one of my favourite albums, and if you like the production you'll probably love the other albums Rob Cavallo's worked on, Green Day's Dookie, Goo Goo Dolls' Dizzy Up the Girl, and my personal favourite, The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. If I could suggest an album for a listen, that would be the one!

K
Kelly Venable · June 24, 2026

As a long time Paramore fan I have loved every step in their evolution musically. In many ways I've grown with them. The rock core is still there through This Is Why. I'd love to see you listen to the other albums too!

J
Johnny · June 23, 2026

I can respect After Laughter and This Is Why for what they are, but for me they don't really come close to Brand New Eyes and Riot specifically (for my taste, which is more toward the rockier sound)

j
jaleeka · June 23, 2026

The live performances are insane you need to watch some old performances for sure from each era.

J
Josh Graves · June 23, 2026

Made it only 3 minutes into the YouTube video before having to subscribe to come watch this. Great video. I'm a huge Paramore fan and love literally every single thing they've ever done. I love that they have so much depth and can change their sound while still sounding like Paramore.

A
Andy · June 23, 2026

Love Paramore, especially Brand New Eyes and Riot, I'm a sucker for the harsher pop punk stuff

K

The drummer ll from sleep token is phenomenal. Again asking y'all to review their album Take me Back to Eden 😅

K
Kissmygritz · June 22, 2026

I was sad at first when they went more pop. Still love them though. I was 14 when Riot came out and bought on CD. I loved the angsty rock. Riot and Brand New Eyes are still my top two albums from them. All We Know is Falling is also very nostalgic 🥲

Kayla Smith · June 22, 2026

paramore has been my favorite band since i was a kid--i was off-put by it when it first came out but it clicked very shortly after and has been one of my favorite, most listened to albums in general for years now. i honestly can't pick my fav paramore album, it's a tie between after laughter, brand new eyes, and all we know is falling.

p
pixie · June 21, 2026

self titled would be a good album to do next! it's their transitional album from this sound to more synth-pop influenced music so it has a nice blend of both sounds

YESSSSSS PEAK

A
Amantha Cook · June 21, 2026

I’ve been a Paramore friend since right before Riot came out. I was a young teen, so it feels like they have grown and evolved along side of me. When I first found Paramore, I was angsty and mad and felt misunderstood. Listening to these heavier albums was right for me at the time. When Self-titled came along, I had just started college, and so the evolution of their music came at a time of evolution for me, so it all made sense. After Laughter came out the day before I got married. I was in a pop-y, happy, part of my life, but also still battling depression, so After Laughter felt right for that moment, too. In a post-Covid world where everything felt topsy-turvy, especially as an American, This is Why was poignant, and perfect for the moment too. Some fans will argue that they lost their heavy sound and therefore, now people, “miss the old Paramore.” Perhaps those fans were stagnant in their own life and still need that angstier, angrier sound.

M
Martha · June 21, 2026

Love you guys! Hurt me that you talked over her vocals on All I Wanted but still love. SELF TITLED NEXT

Ashley Timperio · June 19, 2026

Growing up alongside Paramore I can genuinely say that I felt like every album fit for the time that it came out. After Laughter was so different but I also felt different so it just felt like growing into something new. The harder sound of Brand New Eyes was the norm for scene/emo music at the time.

l
lex · June 18, 2026

its insane to me how young they were when they wrote this. Hayley was around 19, Zac 17, josh 20, Taylor 18, and they were already on their third album (and the first Paramore song on their debut album was written when Hayley and Taylor were 12/13 years old!) Overall I feel like this album has aged so well compared to the music made by their peers at the time

K
Key · June 18, 2026

You guys should react to Florence and the machine. One of their albums. My favorite of theirs is Dance Fever. But any one of them. Love the reaction! Couldn’t believe Connor you never heard of this.

S
Stefan Harp · June 18, 2026

I was never a hardcore Paramore fan but this album definitely was on rotation for a while in college and I’ve really enjoyed how they’ve evolved over the years. You can already see hints of their later stuff here in stuff like “The Only Exception” which is definitely more of a poppy acoustic ballad than the stuff from Riot! that really blew them up into the mainstream, and the way they’ve changed feels similar to my own musical journey, branching out from basically only listening to the harder side of rock into the stuff they’re doing now that is much more interesting as I get older.

A
Alison Griffin · June 18, 2026

Heard this at 19, still listening to it in 2026. Was sort of their religious disillusion album (they started as a christian band!). Some of the best bridges ever, and still trying to sing All I Wanted well enough for karaoke haha. The live Only Exception clips from Eras Tour (not my steez but love Paramore/Hayley) are also so amazing

L
Louise · June 18, 2026

Hayley did NOT write a song for Olivia Rodrigo! The song Good 4 U was written by Olivia and Dan. After it came out people claimed it sounded like she copied the Paramore song Misery Business and the drummer from Paramore sued Olivia to get credit on the song. Hayley was not involved it that at all and didn’t know till after the fact! I would not include that in the YouTube video

M
Memo Mondaca · June 18, 2026

It was actually Josh Farro that wanted the credit lol and he's the one no longer in the band so it makes sense he would want to cash the check.

L
Louise · June 18, 2026

Oh wow this is my favorite album by Paramore. So excited to listen to this while I work today. Much love everyone. :)

J
Jack Shaver · June 17, 2026

Other than maybe 3 songs on their self titled every song by them is about a personal experience. Either Hayley’s or someone else’s in the band. Their discography is like one really big diary.

J
Jack Shaver · June 17, 2026

You mentioned the 2014 album “Paramore” and said it’s kinda similar. It’s a bit more pop and hit focused. Other than the absolute monster that is “Future” which is easily the most unique song they ever did. I did my college English final on that song. It’s fantastic.

J
Jack Shaver · June 17, 2026

Paramore has had a lot of sound changes. Every album is a bit different but this one and on are very different. A lot of people pick a side but I think they’ve sounded amazing every single album including all 3 of Hayley’s solo projects. My personal favorite is the debut AWKIF. The emotional rawness is so great.

L
Lauren Hamann · June 17, 2026

This was such a pleasant surprise!

A
Allison · June 17, 2026

It’s so funny how you guys talked about only knowing Paramore post-After Laughter because for me, I found them in 2008 with Misery Business so it’s been an adjustment to their new sound for me. The orange-haired headbanging Hayley is still the image I have of the band, but I have grown to like their new stuff. Fun fact: Zac, the drummer, was like 12 when the band formed

D
Daniel · June 17, 2026

Paramore is so good!!!!!!!!!! - You guys would LOVE Colide With The Sky by Pierce The Veil, pretty similar

D
Dama Petrichor · June 16, 2026

We all loved after laughter, i recommend their self titled after this!!!

J
Jen · June 16, 2026

I believe the song that has Hayley and Josh credited from Olivia Rodrigo is because people were saying it sounded too similar to an old Paramore song (Misery Business), so Olivia put them in the writer’s credits

J
Jen · June 16, 2026

Correct me if I’m wrong though!

J
Jordan Davies · June 16, 2026

I love paramore’s evolution personally! I think they’ve stayed very true to themselves individually (Zac, Taylor and Hayley) all keeping the same style they always have, just finding new and different ways to express it which is so refreshing! I love these balls-to-the-wall rock tracks but I also sometimes love a fun, groovy, catchy track from after laughter or a gut wrenching but honest lyrical delivery with clever, impactful instrumental to make me feel something deeply in This is Why They’re such an incredible band and I’m glad they’ve given us fans a wider range of music to match every mood/phase of our life we’re in 🫶 some 00’s bands really struggle with the transition into the 10’s/20’s social media age, but they’ve nailed it beautifully keeping their music recognisably them but refreshingly new LOVE the reaction as always legends - love from Manchester, England ❤️

A
Alix · June 16, 2026

LOVED watching this !!! It's my favourite album of all time ever 🥲 there's a LOT of lore around this time with them but on your Q about After Laughter - a lot of the "they've gone pop" criticism came with their 2013 self titled (imo it has some of their best rock music ever on it (Future, Part II) but also has still into you etc which is more pop-esque), so by 2017 they'd already established a kind of bridge btwn pop and rock I think. AL is my least listened to album of theirs just because I am a much bigger rock fan and I ADORE this album more than anything, but I can admit AL is some of their best work. I've seen BNE referred to as their Rumours and I think it's fairly true - lots and lots of inner band turmoil, it's where the writing rly wrestles with faith which then leads to the band falling apart, but it's also unbelievably well written for how young they all were. Could yap about this foreverrr hahaha. Would love any other paramore/hayley reactions!! 🦋

A
Alix · June 16, 2026

B
Brigitta Spethson · June 16, 2026

Funny you should mention how tough the drums are on this album. In interviews, Zach has stated that one of the reasons he left the band was that touring this album destroyed his body. After he left the band struggled to find a drummer who could take on the intensity of their songs.

J
Jen · June 16, 2026

I’ve been a Paramore fan since 2007, and I loved after laughter. I think for me personally it came out at a time where my music taste was changing and growing too, so it was kind of perfect timing!

S
Sophia · June 16, 2026

Some context: Zac and Josh Farro, drummer and lead guitarist here, are brothers and founding members of the band. Hayley and Josh dated and broke up and had other disagreements, and Josh and Zac left the band after this album, not on the best of terms. Their next album after this, Self-titled, has a different drummer. Zac and the rest of the remaining band reconciled and Zac returned for After Laughter, the song Grudges on that album is about that subject

E
Emin Ho · June 16, 2026

I'd love to hear you speaking about Parcels. Musically it's a complete contrast to Paramore but they’re just as tight as Haley and her band. I'm sure you guys would love it. I would recommend starting with *Live Vol. I* or the *Night/Day* album.

so glad you guys listened to this one, it’s my favourite pmore album after after laughter! definitely check out the live version of ‘ignorance’ they performed during the after laughter cycle, i thought they did a great job adding a little bit of that after laughter sound to it with all the attacks and the percussion. and to answer that question about the band’s evolution: i’ve been a fan since their second album and i absolutely loved after laughter. i can imagine why older fans wouldn’t really like the change in direction but i think it’s their most solid album to date! rhythm has always been pmore’s strong suit and it’s really apparent in after laughter especially with the return of their original drummer. don’t skip their self titled too! they had a different drummer sessioning for the album, but there are some really good tracks in there (particularly part ii and future). and since you guys were appreciating the drummer loads in this, he’s got a side project called halfnoise and the drums + percussion do NOT disappoint

S
Sophia · June 16, 2026

They were all so young here, and Zac Farro (drummer) was only around 18. He’s a legend imo, insane percussionist

nbcardall · June 16, 2026

I know you guys get a LOT of requests, but I have to make one in a (kinda) similar vein to Paramore's early stuff, I hope you gents can check out a band called The Warning at some point. 3 sisters from Mexico that make some of the best hard rock music today. They started their band at ages 9 through 14, released their first album independently at ages 12 through 17, and are about to release their fifth. Their album ERROR is probably the best place to start but you really can't go wrong with them. I finally dove into them last month and I've been obsessed ever since. And don't worry, most of their songs are in English, they only have 4 or so in Spanish lol.

C
Chevy · June 16, 2026

After Laughter was a surprise indeed but not as much as you imagine since their Self-titled record serves really well as a bridge between Brand New Eyes and After Laughter and to me it's a must to see how they started experimenting with a lot of sounds outside of their pop-punk days without fully abandoning them, so hope you listen to that one soon. Also no, Hayley didn't write a song for Olivia haha Olivia's song Good 4 U resembles a lot of Misery Business (from R!ot) and both Atlantic and Josh Farro (who isn't in the band since 2010 sued Olivia for it; neither Hayley nor the other two current members of the band had anything to do with that.

R
Rye · June 16, 2026

It should be noted that after Brand New Eyes, they released a self-titled album, Paramore, before they went 180 with the sound of After Laughter. It was a perfect blend of their past efforts and the sound they're about to explore. Most reactors skip this album when it was one of their integral albums especially it was the album that got them back and redefine the group moving forward after the fallout with the Farro brothers (founding members). I hope you would listen to it one day!

N
Nicholas Bui · June 16, 2026

Can’t wait for you guys to listen to their self titled album from 2013. I was fortunate enough to see them when they did a tour with Fall Out Boy when they released Save Rock and Roll. Those two albums releasing in the same year revived the Pop/Rock genre imo.

TheEggMcWaffle · June 15, 2026

As a lifelong Paramore fan, I think they’re one of those bands that can make great music in any genre they want, so I didn’t mind when they change in sound and I even grew to prefer their newer sound over the years. Brand New Eyes is a classic, but for my money, This Is Why is the band’s magnus opus

A
A Generic Canadian · June 15, 2026

Answering the question around After Laughter... As someone who spent highschool as a big fan of Paramore but hadnt really diversified my music taste outside of punk, metal and electronic music until after After Laughter came out, I was pretty disappointed in it. I definitely played it once through and put it under the "bands who sold out" category. It wasn't until I started listening to more pop and indie around 2017-2018 (probably just after it came out tbh) for me to come back to it and appreciate it. Now I kind of listen to everything and can appreciate a band changing their sound to fit what they actually want to make, and also enjoy the sound they evolved into!

From what I remember, After Laughter was just so good that fans weren’t disappointed by the different/softer sound. I was an early paramore fan but the world changed sooo much between 2013 and 2017 (between self titled and after laughter) that I drank after laughter up when it came out. It was so refreshing and meaningful and it felt like the band was growing up with me.
