genesis owusu is one of my favourite artists, and a rising star out of australia. i've seen him live 4 times - he's one of the best artists to see in concert. i saw him the day that this album came out, and it was insane. epic, i've never seen an audience dance so much! one of the most fantastic nights. he comes out into the crowd during 4life and everyone kneels while he sings, it's so magical. my favourite part of this album is between falling both ways and the worldwide scourge - the last line of falling both ways is 'earth, heaven, hell what's the difference' and the opening line to worldwide scourge is 'but there is a difference'. would HIGHLY recommend his second album struggler, it's one of my favourite albums of all time. a more conceptual album, with such clear direction and momentum through all the different genres. the track what comes will come is my favourite.
Just discovered this recent session from him on Triple J. He has done an incredible version of Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones
Vote for Kacey!
such an awesome and unique album. love that you guys listened to this. makes me hope for a potential navy blue reaction 🤩🤩
Wow. A friend sent me one of their songs this past week so I decided to give the album a listen with yall. 4LIFE had me crying like a baby…. Amazing album
and he’s an incredible performer! i saw him on his struggler tour and it was as one of the best concerts i’ve ever been to. his stage presence was just, immaculate. hope you guys get to see him live some day 🤞🏽

How you haven’t done a 6LACK album yet is criminal!!! Especially after his new release. He’s a must for you and your dad to listen to
Are we getting a JPEG reaction?😭
A great listen along with you guys - love the punky elements on this album! Speaking of punk music, recommend you check out the latest one from the band Marmozets - CO.WAR.DICE. Amazing through and through
Would love to see you guys do boc - inferno! I remember you mentioning that you wanted to branch into some more instrumental music and it would be so interesting to see what you think about it!
Not sure if he's playing near you during his North America run, but as an Australian who's seen him 5 + times over the years from tiny venues to festival main stages - Genesis is truly one of the great rap performers, always gives 120% and puts on an incredible show. Seeing him is a must if you can get there!! - (Edit) Just finished the video - get to Seattle!!!
His other two albums are also really good and absolutely worth covering!
Amazing album!!! Would love to see twin fantasy by car seat headrest next
hope the dogs doing well!
Just listened to track 1 and I’m sitting here aggressively pondering why yall haven’t listened to MID AIR yet 🥴
If you all are looking for something back into the Alex G / MJ Lenderman vein, highly recommend the new Kevin Morby album.
One of my recent favourites, Genesis Owusu shines with creativity on this album
Holy shit YES
Boko Yout - GUSTO It's not really new (September 2025), but I just recently heard it the first time and I had the most fun listening to an album for a long time. If you're not gonna do a reaction, just listen to it in your own time. Some of the songs also have cool music videos. You won't regret it. Cheers!
wow stoked you guys reacted to this one. genesis is incredible live, if you ever get the chance he’s a must see !!! one of our best
Much love to your bestest girl, Kev & Connor ❤️
Thank you Jon ❤️🙏- K
hell yes - was going to ask you guys to do this!!
Genesis Owusu is the future, baby. Used to see Kofi around town all the time living in Canberra. Wild to see him reach this level. Absolute king shit.
Also yes Canberra (“Can-Bra”) is the capital, but it’s pretty low-key. Parliament House, a few museums, some nice bush-nature, and a good food scene. Sydney is pretty close and that’s where the action is.
BOARDS OF CANADA - INFERNO
They need to do literally all of their albums lmao
I’m a huge fan of his album Smiling with No Teeth and it’s definitely worth a listen! I haven’t gotten to this one yet and I’m really excited to react to this one with you guys!
Hopefully The Mocking Stars from Lausse the cat is on your list best media I’ve heard/seen in years
Please listen to Violet Grohl's new album Be Sweet to Me!!!
OMG YESSSSSS GENNY!! He’s super inspired by punk artists, he covered the Sex Pistols a few years ago and it was absolutely killer. His previous album Struggler had a couple of really fun, punky tracks mixed with the more dancey vibes of his earlier work. This album goes hard on the punk and it’s such a ripper. His live shows are also absolutely phenomenal, if you get the chance to see him I can’t recommend it enough.
Guys I’m begggingggg you to check out Gang of Youths! I know you love Springsteen and Sam Fender so I reckon you’ll love them too 🩷
