Dad Reacts to CMAT - EURO COUNTRY

I would be so genuinely excited to see what you think of CMAT’s earlier work!! I accidentally came across her stuff right around when her first album came out and I loved it—been wild to see her blowing up more!! She’s had that strong country vibe and witty sense of humour all the way through!

Haven't seen Coronation Street in like forever. There were some crazy storylines!

If you’re doing international I’d recommend Fishmans (Japanese) and Parannoul (South Korean). Some of my favorite music period and both have crazy high ratings.

Adding to your list of Euro artists, I haven't seen you guys do a a Hozier reaction. You should absolutely start with Unreal/Unearth!!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on this I think y'all would love Samia. New album from this year, but also a killer album that had a great 5yr anniversary version this year too

You guys put me on to such good artists

You need to listen to Wolf Alice! Blue Weekend or the clearing ☺️

blue weekend wolf alice?? 🐺

So happy that you enjoyed Euro-Country. I stumbled into the Woodsies tent at Glastonbury in 2022 and got my first taste of CMAT, haven’t looked back since; a true hero to me. Her set on the Pyramid this year was super special and joining the Dunboyne two step (with my Cowboy hat) in that field was a real life high moment for me. 🤠

You guys should take a look at the latest wet leg album called moisturiser , would be right up your street

If you liked the second half of this album, you'll love her other two albums

you guys should give flare a listen by detahjae

you guys would love ‘the mocking stars’ by lausse the cat!!

next time, please, EP by Gabriel Jacoby - gutter child, only 20 minutes long but so much exciting stuff there, Fantano reviewed and loved it

euro-country (the song) is about the collapse of the celtic tiger. the tiger was a time around late 80s to 2008 where ireland's economy grew quite rapidly. the global recession in 2008 caused the housing market to collapse and similarly to the states (im not sure if canada was effected the same) people lost life savings, racked up enormous debts and lost jobs. "all the bertie's" os reference to bertie ahern who the was irish prime minister (taoiseach) at the time, he was corrupt (along with others), accepting side payments for housing projects that lead to the collapse being as devestating as it was. she talks about dads in the song because she would've been a kid/teen during this time, and it was suicide rates in males who had families that increased the most, not feeling able to feel like they can contribute for their family. large empty housing estates still lay empty in ireland as reminder and there is a lot of generational trauma caused by it. that song is some powerful shit. cmat is a f**kin queen. p.s. hoepfully that adds some more context for why that song is incredible and powerful. and for any irish friends reading this, im from the north so a lot of this is either read or come from talking to people from the south during this time, please correct if any of this is wrong.

Hello, i love ur guys reactions so much! Can you two please react to Beyoncé? I would LOVE to see more opions on the others albums you guys haven’t heard😊

I've been waiting for you to do this one!!! One of my favorite albums of the year!

Love whenever you do Irish artists, we have some incredible talent here. I'd recommend Dermot Kennedy if you haven't listened to him, he has two albums.

Such a big fan of CMAT, seeing her in Dublin on Friday for the 4th time. This is her 3rd album and her other two were award winning here in Ireland, back-to-back album of the year for them.

So glad you guys did this one. One of my favourite albums of the year for sure! You should definitely check out Wolf Alice (basically their whole discography is great), their latest album this year is so good and was nominated for Mercurys alongside this album and Sam's

Her other two albums are both so good too!

So glad you covered this, such a spectacular album 💗 And as a viewer from Manchester (UK) whose dad was in Coronation St in the 90s, hearing that Kevin’s such an avid watcher made me laugh

i’ve seen her 4 times now, she opened for declan mckenna in 2022, she’s an incredible performer, one of my tops of the year

i just started kicking my feet on my train like a child, i’m so so happy you guys are doing this

Didn't expect to see this one here, one of my favourites from this year.

Early Deftones would be awesome 😛

I’m so glad you listened, i love this album!! Putting in a request for west end girl by lily Allen or that’s showbiz baby by Jade :)

Yet to watch but very excited to see your reaction to the Jamie Oliver Petrol Station lmao

her debut is definitely worth listening to if you liked how witty this album is. on that one the wit is amped up to eleven and that's why i loved it so much when it first came out.
