American Ganster is my vote for the next Jay-Z react. Great storytelling especially in Fallin'
Dj QUIK reaction would be🔥🔥🔥🔥
Show your Dad some DJ Quik ! !! This wouldbe insane ! so underrated.
You can also try Qobuz. They got Hi-Res as well and I think they're a bit cheaper then Tidal (though that might have changed).
As a Jay-Z fan I've long said Jay-Z has 8 classic albums (& the ones yall should check out): Reasonable Doubt, Vol. 2, The Blueprint, The Black Album, American Gangster, Watch The Throne, & 4:44.
Yall gotta go watch Fade to Black now!
100% the Fade to Black documentary is a must watch after listening to this album!
Let’s do all Jays albums besides the comeback lol
99 problems but a bitch ain’t one bitch is used as word play for a female dog - “we’ll see how smart you are when the canines come”… as in police dogs. he doesn’t have drugs on him, or in his car, so he has 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one
The Oh No meme is from "War for the Planet of the Apes" great trilogy of movies there
Please react to DATA - Tainy together!
For 9th wonder try The Beatles The grey album
Am I the only one that hears the fucking clock sound from Stranger Things on "Justify My Thug" at 1:21:33??? Got me looking over my shoulder and shit. Lol
Been waiting for this one from y’all for genuinely years
You guys always seem to pick the albums I’ve JUST been listening to. I was bumping this whole thing yesterday driving around. PLEASE react to some D’Angelo, it’s essential RnB. Much love
you should react to the souls of mischief album
For Beyoncè you should do her self titled next I think. You should also react to their joint album.
Not mad at self titled but I do think they would like Bday more
I would absolutely love to see you guys react to Collision Course after this. It's such an amazing EP and a special moment I think.
esdeekid!!!!
Just curious are you gentleman gonna do the new Mavi mixtape Or the album he’s got coming soon?
Yes 👍 - K
king kruleeeeee
Love that you guys did this album so nice to revisit this album. It's really dope that you really summed up Jay as rapping about the hustle because there's a lot of hustlers in rap but he really is like THE embodiment of it. $2.6 billion. I remember it wasn't that long ago he was rapping about being halfway to a billion 🤯
Please listen to eusexua afterglow
This was the first Jay Z that I really listened to fully, for a time I would say Jay Z was my fave rapper. Fade to Black is a great accompaniment to the album. It shows some of the making of process, some great in studio clips with Timbaland, Kanye, Pharrell, Rick Rubin and then is also a concert doc. Definitely worth a watch in my opinion
We need more Pharrel love. He has a band called N.E.R.D. - I HIGHLY recommend diving into that band's music. Also you two were so distracted talking about Eminem during "Moment of Clarity" that you missed the entirety of Jay's first verse concerning his dad passing away. I was looking forward to that. A good PAUSE to discuss would be appreciated and then you can lock back in.
This was one of my favorite albums when I was in high school. I used to ride around and play this on CD with the windows down rolling around the neighborhood. Appreciate you guys listening to it together.
FKA Twigs EUSEXUA Afterglow is my reco of the week :)
fr i hope they react
Lots of artsy hip-hop albums on the wall, surely this means a tribe called quest is coming soon! Surely...
🙌🏼 it’s the Roc
recommending Laufey (lay-vey) Strong female singer + Jazz + French, you guys will love! Bewitched is my personal favorite but she sings french in her recent album, A Matter of Time, and it’s beautiful ❤️
She and Clairo are friends, and have a similar vibe, and she has a song with bebadoobee called a night to remember:)
Allure is my Favorite song of all time,, Personally the way I always felt the production, was that it feels Alluring. In the same way that any vice, addiction or high sort of pulls you back which is exactly what Jay talks about on the record. It feels hypnotic, and the "Oh NO!" gets me too because that's the exact face palm i feel when I break something as simple as a diet. Being so invested in something in the same way Jay explains he was with crime, when your life changes and that's no longer part of something you get up and do everyday whether said thing was a negative life style or not, I feel myself being hypnotized and forced into like a nostalgic episode for something that was terrible for me and was dangerous. I appreciate how much you guys focused on the content matter and honestly i respect not such a heavy focus on the beat because any time i ever show someone the song or see someone react, they all always talk about the beat, but that's not what makes the song special to me. Love you guys, and i'm so happy you did this album it's so amazing
It's one of mine too for sure
change clothes is such a banger
Connor next time you're in New york - gotta check out Tokyo Record Bar. Really cool vinyl bar in the west village. I heard this album there in full last year and re-fell in love with it.
Boys I'm so excited about this! My fav Jay album and I'm going to NYC soon too so this is great timing.
