Patiently waiting for speak now reaction
Very random but gave up TikTok for a little while and I’m binging yall cause there is literally no one else I want to experience new music. Y’all put me onto so much new music and wanted to say thank you for bringing music appreciation back into my life
I actually really love this whole album (only skip is CANCELLED ) but I’ll still listen to it. I was really nervous about what it would sound like because each of Taylor’s albums sound different! So I thought it was so smart of her to do different sounds on each track! Definitely in my top 5, the more I listen to it the more I love it!!
just joined, wahoo! pls try to do midnights with your dad. (or fortnight but it is long and wordy so i get it) but midnights is just vibey and chill but the underrated songs are the best. if you don’t- i always enjoy all your vids! thanks for sharing :)
EUPHORIA SOUNDTRACKS (Season 1 and 2 !!)
TAYLORRRRRR!!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!! 🙂↕️🙂↕️
'Ruin The Friendship' reminds me thematically of 'Lord, Let That Tesla Crash' off the new CMAT album. Don't be fooled by the name though because it's absolutely gut-wrenching!! In her triple_j interview, Hayley Williams called it 'the one' 👀
Hayley Williams Ego Death at a Bachelorette party!!!
Absolutely need this!
Also (this is not hate! I appreciate you taking the time and thinking about these songs so I want to emphasize that lol bc I totally get where you are coming from) when you say that you know Taylor Swift has the skills to write better lyrics and frame things much differently, and it seems like it's juvenile for someone of her caliber, my thought process now after a few albums with some cringe or basic lyrics is like okay why is she not using better terminology, what made her choose to use those specific words and phrases? because I think we can all agree that shes not just too lazy to use her skills to make a better song, so she isnt just gonna be like eh, good enough its whatever. so there's always a reason!!!
I think Eldest Daughter's first verse caught everyone off guard with the cringe factor on first listen lmao. But especially after the Zane Lowe interview it makes so much sense. The first few lines are her trying her best to seem cool and up with the times and being more satirical, but then she says that she goes into her regular voice witht he lyrics in the pre, which literally says that she is trying so hard to be cool but it will never work. Just like in the overall theme of the song as an eldest daughter you tend to grow up very quickly, become guarded, feel like you have to hold everything together, when in reality you are just as clueless and broken and not holding anything together in your own life even though you are trying so hard to make it seem like you're great.
And then even more so in the second verse when she says that it was a lie when she said she didn't believe in marriage bc relationship after relationship she got her heartbroken then finally with her previous partner of 6 years Joe, it seems like (from the info we have) he didn't really care to want to get married and bc of everything in her past and being guarded she leaned into that like oh I don't need to get married and lied to herself to not realize what she actually wanted and deserved. It's such a deep song that feels kind of random on the first few listens but when you break down every situation that is portrayed it makes so much sense everything tying together.
as a red/evermore/folklore lover, this one is pretty rough. agree with connor on cancelled!, it reminds me of a 2010's disney villain track. hoping taylor can find a better balance on her next record because I do love the diverse production elements here.
This album certainly gets better the more that you listen to it!
Great vid! It really helped me to read over the lyrics a couple of times on tracks like Eldest daughter as I find the first verse so reflective of social media and the 'cool girl' culture that is so damaging to genuinely insightful and deeply-feeling people like Taylor. I think a lot of people are getting turned off by the cheesy pop culture references but there is a much deeper message within that verse. P.S. You guys should get around to doing the 1975 self titled, its a banger - the equivalent of AM (Arctic Monkeys) for them, I'd say.
You said the lyrics were infectious — which is exactly what Taylor wanted (as she said in the New Heights Podcast)!
I cannot believe you would mention the chickens at Chat and Reacts!!! Both of my worlds are colliding!
Would be great to see a The Art of Loving reaction for the brits🇬🇧
A great album to listen to would be Father Figure by John Bellion. It's production gold
unproblematic kings loved it 🫶🏼
regarding father figure…it’s about her regaining ownership of her master recordings! it’s definitely directed towards scott because he took her under his wing since they were both starting their careers around the same time. she starts the song writing from her perspective but then flips it to hers towards the end! its my favorite track from the record:) always love hearing your inputs<3
Loved the album ( up to father figure) but liked your reaction more! Thank you!! Please can you react to Doja Cat soon? 🔥❤️
If you want much better writing i suggest checking out Halsey! The Great Impersonator does everything this album wanted to do
gotta do the new mobb deep. great album plus the clipse feature and the nas features r firee
Hey there! If you're looking for new artists to try, either personally or for the channel, I highly recommend the new album " The Light For Days" by Jacob Collier, or any of his older records.
The first verse on eldest daughter comes off as cringy on purpose! Because immediately following that verse, the pre chorus says “I have been afflicted by a terminal uniqueness, I’ve been dying just from trying to seem cool” So immediately the lyricism increases, and all of the phrases she used in the first verse were her “trying to seem cool”!! As the eldest daughter, I’ve felt this with my younger sisters for sure. But I feel like she could also be referencing the criticism she receives and/or puts on herself while trying to stay relevant to her younger audience after 20+ years of continued spotlight…following ‘the life of a showgirl’ theme.
thats a great take
YESSSS. But also where is Doja? Would love to see Kev have a good time with that album
had so much fun watching y’all’s reaction to the album!!!
I feel validated, we have the same favorites. I like 7 songs and the other 5 were…questionable…
Wolf Alice please please please
I back this xxx Blue Weekend is a must listen!
Initially I really didn’t love this album but I have to admit it’s a grower 😭 I think ultimately it will rank lower amongst her discography (for me) but still has some standout songs I’ll return to!
Missing the Lola Young reaction😢
omg, a fellow chats & reacts fan! lol hell ya!
This album is sooo good. Top 3 Taylor albums.
no comment on this album lol but if y’all want to cover a real pop bible do Carly Rae Jepsen’s EMOTION. the 10th anniversary edition with new bonus tracks is out next friday 👀
Omg yes! They have to listen to this. It really is a no skips album. Definetely Carly Rae’s best 🫶
Would love to see Tate McRae
tis the damn season to listen to evermore or red🙏
This album definitely falls in the middle of my TS album ranking, it has some really catchy melodies and it's a great vibe, but my top is still Evermore, Reputation, Midnights, Folklore & 1989 so I wasn't expecting it to crack my top 5 anyway. Just another piece in her catalogue to go to for a different sound.
Oh, you put reputation and Lover at the bottom? OOF. That explains quite a bit actually. 😬 Taylor, Joel Little, Max Martin, and Jack don’t deserve that.
love how you go into your reactions without taking online discourse into account
Not my favorite Taylor album overall but it has some really fun songs and it is nice to see Taylor tapping back into the more silly/playful side of her song writing after so many serious albums over the last few years
I honestly loved this album because I didn’t go in with high expectations of amazing songwriting because that’s not the point of this album at all.
thank youuuuu it's not called the life of a singer-songwriter omg
NOW TTPD ITS WAY BETTER THANK LOVE YOUUU ❤️❤️
Thank you for reacting to this album! It’s a grower for sure I didn’t connect with it first listen but after 2 listens something clicked! I now love every song
kind of surprised to hear there was so much dislike of this album, i thought the closer and canceled were pretty rough but honestly this is just a really solid pop album with fun moments. Yeah it's not folklore but I think its nice to see her making fun bangers to add to her catalogue where there's plenty of rich storytelling to revisit
CANCELLED!! feels mid 2010s? You mean when Taylor was canceled? lol
The "cringe" verse in Eldest Daughter is intentional. She follows up those lines with "i've been dying just from trying to seem cool" and then switches to her natural vernacular. She's showing the listener that she is trying to use language to seem cool but that it doesn't work. It's supposed to be cringey imo 🫶
doja next ;)
the hate on this album is so forced like god forbid a girl wants to have fun!!!
don’t worry about the haters or die hard swifties fellers, your experience is your own. That being said, it’s a rough experience 😭😭
I’ll be the one to challenge you on the first verse of Eldest Daughter. It’s a perfect description of this shit our society has become. How would you have written the sentiment explored there? She’s talking about pervasive apathy and how she will never be apathetic to Travis. Try to play devil’s advocate if you don’t like a verse before dismissing it.
Omg!! What an unexpected and pleasant surprise! Can’t wait to watch later 😊😊😊
i really enjoy this album but i do hope you get the chance to listen to RED or evermore next. taylor’s versatility is part of what makes her so dynamic and interesting to follow as an artist. but people in general need to relax about this album. it’s nearing hysteria levels of insane takes (from both swifties and haters).
Can’t believe Connor is reacting to Charli’s opp’s album and somewhat enjoying it, surely he’s going to lose his position in the Charli Xcx army 😱😱😱
wow i hope you guys like it 😭 it definitely took me a few listens to get used to the sound and understand the lyrics myself, but now i really love it for what it is.
please do evermore please just wipe this album from your mind and go to evermore. have it restore some faith in taylor’s songwriting.
CHATS AND REACTS MENTIONED
Should do speak now from Taylor
lolll
When are you reacting to the black album?
wolf alice reaction soon?
PLEASEEE i would love this
“Beautiful father” yessir 💙
oh this is gonna be a ride
Oh god I was hoping he’d have listened to evermore or tortured poets poets as a chaser first
Hahha no fr Evermore should’ve been first 😭
the only way i’ll bother listening to this album
oh boy here we go
we tried our best to enjoy parts of it
Looks just like Willows Cover… wait never mind I needed to put my glasses on.
