Brent and Butthead ft. Charles Austin
Charles of Episode 1 and Fortune Kit joins Dan and Riley to watch the first two episodes of Corner Gas - a show none of us really watch or understand, but is a frequent reference point for us nevertheless. We tangle with how Canadian-ness is and is not reflected in our most bafflingly popular show, and come to the conclusion that we'd rather have more than less state funding for media... even if that means we're "filling up" on Corner Gas.

my reading of that, as a quebecois, is that the anglo canadians are once again at it trying to pretend that they're not american, which they kinda sorta arent (theyre much colder, actually), but then Letterkenny, coupled with the complete lack of interesting quebec show since Série Noire, made me realized that anglo-canadians might be getting cooler roughly at the same pace that quebecois are getting lamer (though I do have to watch C'Est Comme Ca Que Je T'Aime in order to make sure)
The only scene of corner gas I remember was at the very end of an episode examining Wanda (the sarcastic cashier)'s fears, where it's revealed she's agoraphobic. I had never heard the word before, and I thought about how confined living in rural areas made me feel. A good show may have examined that more thoroughly, but unfortunately it was Corner Gas I was watching
^ same. Also, I believe it’s streaming on CTV for free boys!!!!

I watched a lot of corner gas because it was always on tv as a kid, but I have no recollection of anything about it at all. Can’t imagine watching it now that streaming is a thing
