If you ever need future episode material, you should look into the Çiftlik Bank scandal. In 2016, a Turkish wannabe rapper made a farmville knockoff where users could supposedly invest real money into real farms, even getting far enough to open physical stores and hire famous Turkish actors to advertise for him. Turns out it was just a ponzi scheme, the farms supposedly involved were inactive, and the guy behind it is facing 45,000 years in prison (not exaggerated).
