The fatphobia on this episode is genuinely fucking disgusting. The fact that you’re talking about BMI like that means anything and don’t talk about how it is exclusively used to reinforce bigotry is fucking gross. I’m extremely disappointed, and this episode has turned me off of listening to any of your stuff.
You should smoke a doobie.
really odd commentary from John RE: fatphobia/body positivity hypocrisy; i don’t think anybody who gives a shit about that stuff is like, super pumped to see Lizzo blasting GLP-1s, and i don’t think that or the existence of these drugs should let anyone off the hook for disliking people who are fat. There definitely are benefits including and beyond satiety control, and I am glad people are getting those effects/ am hopeful these drugs can get more research behind them in terms of ushering in an end to a lot of unhealthy and unpleasant addictions. There are still some pretty nasty things that can happen even from clean sources and under a doctor’s supervision. We also don’t seem to have a grasp on the long-term effects (e.g. on the dopamine side of things, receptor density change, production), especially of the newer compounds, nor if you suddenly lose access to them. I wish the conversation had been tempered with a little more delicacy. I enjoy the pod, and this is an interesting and important topic, to me and in general.
Glad to hear someone saying this tbh
GLP-1 stands for Gay (and) Lesbian Petrochemicals #1 I’m pretty sure 💪
🎶Keep spendin' sell and buy, livin in a scammers paradise🎶
Also now thrilled that none of you have figured out New Orleans exists outside of Bourbon Street. It truly serves its purpose.
dan lived in the garden district for years, come on now
Suddenly thrilled you guys never talk about " stoner metal records".
Number of times someone said "period." this episode: 6. One of my coworkers at the hospital asked why I kept marking tallies on my arm with a pen. I didn't know what to tell her.
This can't be the first time ha.
