listening to this in vienna, i was on the edge of my seat waiting for hesse to make a the third man reference - thank you!! also...i feel like this crowd might be the right audience for the really cheesy "lives of harry lime" radio series orson welles made in the 1950s (as a sort-of meta-scam in a way)... especially the particularly insane episode where the antagonist is a sort of evil drag king doing a charles boyer impression to entrap female tourists in algiers...
