Deadly Poisons v. 1.2.2

Current Mod Version: 1.2.2
Last Update: July 7, 2025
Requires: XML Injector

What does this mod do?

This mod adds new poisons and antidotes to the game:

  • Hydrogen Cyanide, a highly toxic chemical liquid,

  • Rodenticide, a toxic chemical based on zinc phosphide,

  • Scorpion Kiss, a poisonous solution of scorpion venom.

  • Phytomenadione, an antidote for poisoning by ratiticides.

All poisons can not only be drunk from the bottle to commit suicide, but added into all bar drinks to poison other Sims! To poison a drink, your Sim must have a poison bottle in their inventory!

Introduction of the poisons

  • All poisons and antidotes can be ordered on the computer in the traditional order menu in the new section "Purchase Poisons & Antidotes" and end up directly in the inventory. In the next update of Purchasing Overhaul Mod it will be included in SimSim Market.

  • All purchased poisons can be consumed straight from the bottle, which will of course result in instant poisoning, although the level of lethality will vary. The poisoned suffer from severe poisoning symptoms.

  • The cyanide is of course instantly fatal. The rat poison causes death after a few minutes to hours of agony, but is curable in most cases (but not 100%) with a medical antidote. Scorpion solution poisoning can even be flushed out of the body on its own in some cases, or cured with the magical Selvadoran antidote. However, without healing it can also lead to death.

  • Whether the victim is cured after taking an antidote or dies anyway, other factors can contribute to some extent, such as age, health, fitness and some others...

  • All poisons can now not only be drunk from the bottle to commit suicide, but added into all bar drinks to poison other Sims! To poison a drink, your Sim must have a poison bottle in their inventory!

If anyone would like to improve the current translations or suggest a new one, please feel free to get in touch. I am thankful for.

鈿狅笍 Requirements

  • The Jungle Adventures and Get To Work packs are required!

  • The XML Injector from Scumbumbo is required for full functionality!

  • The use of scripts must be allowed in the game settings!

馃毃 Compatibility

I've reworked the mod so that it doesn't overwrite at the moment. Only the pregnant trait has to be overwritten (in add-on) so that the pregnant sims can also die.

as another thing for historical gameplay, it would be nice if some poisons could be crafted through natural or supernatural means. like using the apothecary/natural living skill in EbN, or the herbalism recipes from outdoor retreat, or a deadly potion in realm of magic, or even using some kind of poison berries/herbs to brew deadly nectar bottles with the Horse ranch EP, or a combination of all of these (i have almost all of the packs so i dont mind which one is chosen, the more the better imo). these poisons could be drank directly, added to food and sold in retail stores/market stalls (perhaps a shady sorcerer npc in the magic realm could buy and sell such potions/ingredients for a high price in a black-market style occult business operation). i know some of the outdoor retreat plants are already meant to be poisonous/toxic so you wouldnt strictly need to add custom harvestables, but if you did maybe sims could forage for them and use them in recipes. im envisioning a whole poisoner's skill tree that integrates with all the aforementioned systems (kind of like how the vampire lore skill lets you unlock recipes for potions and mixology when you reach the higher levels). there could even be milder, non-fatal poisons unlocked at lower skill levels that just cause negative symptoms (like fatigue, vomiting, confusion, etc) or temporarily disable another sim's ability to do certain things (like work or school or participating in sports activities) without actually killing them. i know im getting way ahead of the current scope of the mod here and dont want you to feel pressured to make any of this since im sure it would be a huge undertaking, i just wanted to mention these ideas because as far as i know, there is no mod like this currently available and i'd love to see something like this made possible in the sims 4. i'd make this myself but i have no idea how to code and wouldnt know where to start unfortunately. anyways i hope you like these ideas and thanks again for making this mod! <3

would you consider adding arsenic to the mod? it would fit well for historical saves as it was used in medieval times for assassinations because using low doses over time made it appear as though the victim was dying slowly of a natural illness, rather than being deliberately poisoned. this would be great for storytelling purposes, especially if you added special interactions between the poisoner and the victim pretending to heal them (by feeding them even more arsenic). thank you for making this mod <3

Thank you so much for this mod. I am starting a black widow challenge style game and this mod is perfect. Already tested it out on a couple of unlucky townies. Other mods with poisoning are part of a much larger mod and I just wanted something a bit lighter. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a poison for food as well please? With the death animation from the pufferfish nigiri from city living, (sims choke and collapse in their seat, sometimes facedown in the meal :D). Not a modder so no worries if that is not possible, I'm sure my sim will make a good mixologist haha. Edit to add example of the animation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfuCICibM78
