I don't think it's her being too big but rather him being too small. Where is his torso even supposed to fit back there? Maybe his head should be by her other ear and she's laid into his chest?

If you compare to the dating scenes where they sit side by side the relative heights are other way around. Whatever the height difference is, it should be consistent at least.
