Thanks Denys! So do the Russian forces have to capture territory in order to get supplies? Will they not get paid if they don’t move forward? Then they should reach a compromise with the Ukrainians to say they have captured land even though they’ve lost it and the Kremlin won’t know for ages because they’ve don’t go anywhere actually dangerous except windows, and Ukraine could re capture re claim all that territory without bloodshed! But sadly this won’t happen!

You should research the legal definition of "mercenary" under international law. It has more requirements than being a paid, foreign national.
