In so many of the destroyed villages, it appears that roofs are made of the corrugated asbestos panels that are so common around post-Soviet central and eastern Europe. With these panels being pulverized in explosions, bits, pieces, and particles of asbestos will be strewn all around the properties. This will leave them suffused with nearly indetectable carcinogenic debris almost for eternity.
