Reiko's Mom WIP

How’s it going?

I wanted to show you a small WIP of the current Reiko's Mom piece :3

I’ve been very inspired by the Korean artist Mogoon and his 100-day challenge

I’m not planning to do a 100-day challenge anytime soon, but it inspired me to try out new things with my own art

Since last month, I’ve been trying to give my pieces different kinds of lighting. It’s been hard to step out of my usual comfort zone, but also very fulfilling when I get it right.

For Reiko’s mom’s piece, I wanted to capture that soft early-morning feeling, like waking up at the beach while the air is still fresh and pleasant, with her gently waking you up.

Speaking of her, I created her thinking it would be fun to have a mommy figure to draw once in a while. I honestly didn’t expect her to receive so much love, so thank you so much for that!

For the longest time, I thought people would always prefer fanart over my original characters, but I was wrong. You’ve shown Reiko so much love over the years, and now you’ve confirmed it even more strongly with the support you’ve shown for her mom lol.

I think she might deserve to get her own name soon. Maybe we can do a poll about it!
Do you have any name suggestion?
I've been thinking of Momo cause it means Peach and it has Mom in it ;D
