Poll: Does anyone actually care about having NON-pregnancy endings as an option?
To be clear, everyone definitely gets a pregnancy ending. This is about whether I'm wasting my time making those endings optional, or if it's fine if they're mandatory.
First, let's recap.
My plan is to have 8 different endings. For each one, I've been structuring it to bluntly ask you if you want kids or if you don't want kids. So in a sense, 16 endings...but not really.
Ultimately, this doesn't have a HUGE impact on anything. As I playtest Julie's near-finished ending, there are basically like 5 brief spots where I just split the dialogue for a moment to say something like:
"breed me oh god pump a baby into me"
or instead,
"yes yes fuck me fuck me" lol
During the climax, I either play the "sperm cell impregnation" animation or I don't, while they say or think things relating to pregnancy or not. It's very simple. It's otherwise the exact same sex scene.
And then the scene continues. I'm downplaying it a little bit, but suffice to say the non-pregnancy ending is about 90% the same as the pregnancy one, you're just not gonna see the impregnation animation and you're not gonna see Flin and Julie with kids at the end.
Playing through it, I feel like the pregnancy ending's just...superior, and I'm wasting my time bothering with an option that almost no one's gonna pick. I haven't wasted very much time, but it still feels silly.
To me, the erotic appeal of NOT going for pregnancy is something that makes more sense in real life: You get to have sex all the time without needing to take care of kids. You get to focus on each other. Plenty of merit.
But beyond me describing that that's what happens, I'm not sure we really have time to explore that enough for the eroticism of it to come through. Whereas I think impregnation is a very hot moment to cover even if it's brief.
The reason I initially made it a choice was for Kelly. I personally felt that out of all the heroines, Kelly was the one who would be the least likely to want to get pregnant. It's not a strong feeling I have; she's just more of a free spirit, and I think pregnancy would bog down the rockstar dream (which is an argument I can also make for Stella, but Stella's ending is structured differently so she can get pregnant after the band enjoys stardom for many years. If Kelly's getting pregnant, I want her to get pregnant WHILE Flin is still dating Stella because I'm fucked in the head).
I didn't wanna screw over Kelly fans who love pregnancy, so I figured I'd just make it an option, and then in the interests of symmetry I decided to make it an option for every single ending.
But, symmetry's overrated. I can offer this choice for JUST Kelly's solo ending if it's that important. In that circumstance, she'd still definitely get pregnant in the "cheat on Stella forever" ending as well as the harem endings.
I've never made a poll directly asking for popular opinion to sway a critical mechanic in the game because I've always had a strong sense of vision and direction for what I wanted to do with LLRR.
In this particular case, I realized I'm happy with pregnancy endings for everyone and I'm happy with offering a choice for specifically Kelly.
It hasn't been a TON of effort so far writing the non-pregnancy content, so if a notable number of people (determined arbitrarily by me) vote for option #3 then I'll just stay the course and keep doing what I was already doing.

I just hope having a pregnancy ending for the Kelly Solo won't be a "sad" ending, cuz it's one thing to betray friends and your girlfriend, but to make your new lover miserable is an entire extra layer of pain lol.
She's gonna be so miserable about it, and having a kid is just gonna ruin your relationship with her and derail both your careers. April Fools! Of course it'll be a happy ending. The only sad endings in LLRR are the ones where you game over by getting caught. If you're picking pregnancy with Kelly, then that represents a consensual decision. She's way into it too, and she'll find a way to make it work.
I think with Samantha is also it's kinda possible that she's gonna be okay both with kids and without. Julie also can pull something like "well I spent a lot of years raising Amy and Stella, so I would like to focus on myself.". And only Amy doesn't have obvious reasons not to have children, but making choice for every character besides her is also not cool. So I think it would be really great to have both options with every character. But of course, it's just my opinion, and you should do it as you see 👽👽👽
Ehhh im either tbh would like julie imo to end up pregnant since shes my favorite.
Oh, for the record, this is not an April Fools' joke. It's very much still March 31st where I am lol.
