On the one hand, I have heard that Harlequin romance novels are chock full of masked pirates who kiss first and ask later, but on the other hand, I have *not* heard of masked pirates who maim relatives, so yeah, maybe she should chat with the school counselor.

I mean I think they're of an age where they don't even have a fully developed idea of what sex is, as far as its emotional implications, let alone rape. I think to them they just go "what's another crime he can do?" It's the same with murder, they know it's bad and something bad boys do but don't really grasp the implications
I don't know if you ever read Still Trapped in a Island, but I insisted on reading it to my friends over Skype and we had an amazing time. Except then I was like, "let's see what other horrifying things I can find on Wattpad" and...well, that Thomas the Tank Engine/Lightning McQueen fic can never be unread, and I can never take back the fact that I also read THAT aloud to three witnesses.
