Being from Colorado and having visited Evergreen (CO) I kept getting whiplash every time I heard 'Evergreen' in this video

M

I have never related to a character more than the curmudgeonly sister saying the town has "some very unique sadnesses." I love that lady, I'd like to get drinks with her.

Hannah's actress (Rukiya Bernard) being Simone from Yellowjackets takes me out. Talk about range and different genres!

N

Spending the money from the bonds on a Christmas museum when there is only one road in and out of town that routinely gets blocked is absolutely diabolical. Impeach

If you HAD to do the Hallmark reality show, you could pair it with the reality show Twelve Dates of Christmas. A thought 🎅

I don't feel entitled to any kind of promises about future videos or schedules. My vote's to stop giving updates, if they add to the stress. We're here to support Jenny

M
Madeline Monk · April 2, 2026

If you don't want to do updates, don't do them! You already have to get every Patreon video out in a month, on a topic you didn't pick, on top of your other work; you might as well have a more artistically satisfying final product. And there are some drawbacks to creating public anticipation for projects in production that may not pan out or happen quickly. I imagine there's something a little soul-killing about saying "and I'm still working on x and battling scope creep" for six months on end and then wanting to put the project aside for a while but feeling like you have to apologize for it because you already talked about it to fans.

O
Obi W. · March 27, 2026

Chiming in late about the updates. I support and understand if you don't want to include them in the videos.

W
Wren · March 26, 2026

The first time I heard that end credits song, I thought they were saying “We want some stupid wishes” lol

A

Omg I hated that Christmas shoes song so much as a kid lol, they played it like 5 times per day on the classics station

Who else was admiring Jenny's plushies besides me?

M
Mariam Hale · March 31, 2026

late reply but I’m here on my 12th rewatch to concur that the plushies are a stellar ensemble - the tree in the red coat is definitely the conventionally handsome and appealing romantic lead of this ramble

L
Laura Torlaschi · February 17, 2026

coming back to this video to say that the third (?) one or whichever with the nyc journalist sounds like a worse version of Book Lovers, which I highly recommend to any romance novel readers. It’s a subversion of the Hallmark formula and celebrates the NYC literary types.

R
RandySalacious · February 7, 2026

I realize I'm a little late here but as a relatively new patreon subscriber i find it very fun when watching videos from the backlog to hear things like "I'm determined to finish the evermore video before i start on the star wars hotel video", it really adds something intangible for me that makes me love your content that much more on re-watch. If it truly dissatisfies you from a creative standpoint i would have no problem with text updates in the description of these posts (or standalone update posts if that feels better to you) but please don't feel it is common for patrons to watch these videos and ends up feeling like they received a lesser product due to baked-in main channel updates as, for a huge majority of patrons at the least, they are neutral/positive. (i believe)

M
Megan Andress · February 2, 2026

I really love that you mentioned the fact that the Burnaby Village Museum renovated its restaurant in a modern style - I'm currently working on a publication about historical museums of this sort and the thesis is generally about modernization, cultural identity, and the actual messages that these historical sites are putting out about life in the past. Really fun to see that come up tangentially in one of your videos!

K

N
Nix & Checkers · January 29, 2026

Is the 2014 Hallmark movie "An Evergreen Christmas" related? It is a uniquely awful piece of media which I was really hoping to see dissected. It serves primarily as a long-form covert political advertisement against the "estate tax," and is packed full of bad-natured caricatures of big city liberals and others who might oppose repealing inheritance taxes on estates of 6.5 million dollars or more. It's sickening and fascinating and truly deserves a critical examination. It may be the most cynical and hate-filled Christmas movie ever made

This is not important but about the veterinary practice - my dad was a vet in the countryside (albeit Sweden and not US) and he ran his own clinic with everything from house pets to farm animals.. He referred people to specialists if needed obviously but most of vet care is like vaccinations, neutering, de-worming, common infections, wound care etc. Nowadays there's a lot more specialization in the field than there used to be though so vet practices are kinda becoming more centralized in general. My understanding is generally in Europe small practices were/are common in the countryside and in small towns.

S
Simon Rodriguez · January 25, 2026

Is there any reason you couldn't cut out the update part into its own short clip and then upload both separately?

L
Laura Torlaschi · January 24, 2026

As an NYC resident, I'm always offended that these movies think we're so miserable. We are, but that does not interfere with our Christmas spirit.

v
viruviruviru · January 24, 2026

I completely understand if you don't want to do the updates at the end anymore, but personally I really enjoy them! It's reassuring to have these small updates when the projects take so long to make. As for older videos, I also enjoy learning about your process, or about dropped projects that I didn't know about, it's a fun peak behind the scenes. I see the patreon videos as like, little extra treats so I don't really get the feeling that their momentum is ruined, specially because some of my favorite rambles are ones where you completely drop the premise and talk about Tarzan & Jane for half an hour lol I guess there must be some part of you audience that is very Not Chill about this kinda stuff tho so I get it. Maybe you could write the updates on the post itself instead, so they're still there but the videos stand as their own.

F
Fletcher Gross · January 23, 2026

I like the updates! I just skip them when I'm doing a relisten

C

B

Z
Zoe Blank · January 19, 2026

Please reconsider covering Harry Potter in the future, even in Patreon videos. When you made the spider plush video, matching a donation was relevant to the stakes, at that time. It's different now. Contributing to the cultural relevance of Harry Potter now directly funds efforts to repress, and ultimately, kill, trans people worldwide.

C
Celozon · January 19, 2026

I don't mind whatever form the video updates come in, but I also never saw the updates being there when rewatching older videos as a bad thing. I don't really care if something 'dates' a video, and in a way I liked that when I first joined and went through the backlog the updates helped me place them chronologically in terms of the main channel videos (in a way that just looking at the numbers doesn't do for me). I also just find it interesting to hear about video topics that ended up being dropped lol.

S
Scrum Diddely Umptious · January 18, 2026

Germans. Germans are the ones going to a town for Christmas and pencilling in a Christmas museum lol Maybe theyre trying to corner the German Christmas tourism market? Think about it, if you don't have a cool castle like Rothenburg Ob de Tauber, how are you going to be competitive in that market- the abandonned top hat factory must have been the most whimsical old-timey building they had on hand 🤔 they must have cut the parts where they used the bonds to hire a marketing firm to run extensive research into target demographics instead of revitalising the old water main infrastructure haha

It’s a new year! I think a text update is a good idea! As someone who’s explored the backlog of videos, the update at the end is awkward lol.

A
Alisa · January 10, 2026

I wouldn’t be bothered about having the update be text in the video description! If the general opinion sways the other way, I would add that, as someone who joined and was delighted to see such a backlog to go through, that the updates in older videos are very charming. It’s really fun hearing past Jenny saying that she’s working on evermore or vampire diaries or the Star Wars hotel and knowing that they turned out so well. It’s a lovely time capsule. But *also*, would not be at all disappointed to read the updates instead 🙂‍↕️

Thanks for taking these dumb movies seriously enough to articulate why exactly they are crap. We all know deep inside they are but I don’t have the tools to list all the reasons why, all the shortcuts they take, and how that pisses us off a bit while still allowing us to laugh at them. This is why you’re a cultural critic! And why I subscribe.

As kids we used to go all the time on field trips to the Burnaby village Museum and we would reenact what it was like to be in school back in those days. One year we went I had my nails painted and they banished me outside the school house and accused me of being a witch.

A
Amelia Justice · January 9, 2026

Do you boo. Put updates in the text body of the video. It's your Patreon. 💕

S
Sean · January 9, 2026

I like the updates at the end of the videos...Ad reads are annoying because I'm getting unsolicitedly sold something whereas these are like how the Disney Channel only had ads for itself. It's nice to hear what's coming up for a channel I'm already enjoying.

M
Michael Newton · January 8, 2026

As others are saying: I, too, enjoy the project updates, and I think it's actually kinda nice how they add a sense of time and context. But, I think you know better than anyone what works and what doesn't for your videos and creative process, and you should go with whatever you think makes the most sense.

K
Katherine Harrison · January 7, 2026

it would not bother me if you stopped giving updates at the end of the bonus videos, but i will say as someone who subscribed relatively recently and then went back through the archives, i think the updates at the end of older videos kind of give them a fun sense of time. like when one of them ends with you talking about a video that came out 3 years ago it feels like a little time capsule moment.

Q

N

i'd definitely prefer the updates in the text vs the actual video! it is a bit weird watching old patreon videos and seeing references to videos that are on the backburner. as an artist myself i totally get switching projects so no judgement there, but it would certainly make the videos be evergreen as you said lol. but ofc i'll watch and read anything you upload! thanks for another great monthly vid!

Also, I would totally be down for you moving the update/'what I'm working on' section to text and not having it in the video. Re: formatting, Im on patreon because of jenny and how she chooses to make her videos. If she wants to change them, I'm on board for it. I want to pay for jenny to have the freedom to make what she wants, the way she wants, and not be at the whim of an algorithm or sponsors or whatever. You shouldn't ever feel like you need our permission but I 100% want to voice that I'd be happy for you to not do them/pop them into the description for the videos. Your patreon is already a source of such joy for me - the monthly videos really brighten my months and I know they're often labour intensive/involve you putting main stuff on the back burner for a week or so while you sort them. I think your community occasionally forgets how lucky we are to get these monthly videos, because as a subscriber to a few patreons I can confirm you're the only youtuber I know who does this rather than just occasional bonus videos or short text updates. So all that to say...if it stresses you out and ruins it for you PLEASE feel free to stop doing it as you already give this community so much 💜😊

C
Cos★Atlantic · December 31, 2025

I'm sorry! but please keep doing the "what I'm working on" at the end! It's so wild do be 3 years back and hear like "I'm working on the Furbie video, so that one should be out soon". I'm sure things like that are a source of embarrassment for you, but the sheer number of things you've talked about releasing, and have never finished, is really endearing to us. It's so nice to see the standards you hold yourself to, and the work that gets done behind the scene that we don't otherwise see.

M
Mady, you know, from TV · December 31, 2025

Just on the small town point - my mom grew up in a small town that somewhat resembles those in Hallmark movies (though less twee) and she moved away and never moved back - but my siblings and I always spent a lot of time visiting and know the town and people (many of whom are relatives of ours 😅) well. We were always excited to visit and it always felt like half the town knew when we were coming and were excited to see us. I feel like that's a middle ground more Hallmark movies could explore - that characters can have a long term, meaningful relationship with Evergreen for example, without trapping all the characters there forever. (It sounds like they half do this with Allie, but also that whole situation is confusing...)

M
Mady, you know, from TV · December 31, 2025

"This town has some very unique sadnesses" make me CACKLE out loud for several minutes, like I would stop and remember that line and delivery and laugh again. How ICONIC, oh my god. If I was in these movies, I would want to play that character, but also that actress clearly does such a good job with it that I wouldn't want to take it from her.

J
Jessica · December 31, 2025

I know I'm late to the video so maybe someone already commented this, but there was a lesbian Christmas movie on Hallmark this year and yes, the lesbian couple was the main couple. You're right that they definitely pulled back on it for a while, though Jonathan Bennett - who previously only played straight for Hallmark - has been getting steady work from them as a gay lead or co-lead for several years. They could absolutely be doing better, but we're starting to see them move in the right direction again!

I personally quite like returning to older ramble videos and seeing references to projects you were working on at the time, it's interesting if the video has since come out to listen to you talk about how working on it was going at the time, or which projects you were considering and abandoned/paused at different points. It feels like an interesting insight into your creative process. That being said I think you should do whatever you're most comfortable with, so if you'd prefer to move it to text please do!

Just to weigh in on the update section of the video - I think adding them to the text body is fine, however I do enjoy your video updates at the end as well. I recently got patreon and have watched a ton of old videos, and to me it's really interesting to hear about videos before they were released / videos that never ended up getting made and listening to your month to month progress of those videos. I feel like it's a peek behind the curtain that I really enjoy, and while it does "date" the video, it also provides interesting context into your creative process that I enjoy. At the end of the day, though, these are your videos and we are here to enjoy the things you *want* to make, so if you dislike the video updates, I certainly think you should do what you want in order to preserve your artistic integrity

J
Jim P · December 28, 2025

This is such a typical Jenny Nicholson experience for me: I start watching this ramble about a series of TV movies I have no interest in, just because it’s enjoyable, funny, and cozy. Then, starting about 18 minutes in, Jenny makes a lowkey devastating point about emotional growth and how you can’t really become a new person by moving to a new place, which makes me reflect on my own life because I’ve moved a lot, and suddenly it all seems much more profound. Then she goes on to make many more extremely sharp observations, such as the one about NPCs that exposes both the problem of bad writing in Hallmark movies *and* the toxic ideology of certain internet bros. One of the best Jenny rambles in a long time, it reminded me of some of my favorite older media reviews on her main channel when she was posting them more often.

I'm wondering now; whom amongst the towns people is kept awake at night by the knowledge/belief that a christmas wish is super easily accessible in this town, as long as it comes from the heart... and still no world peace. Whose looking at the people around them and thinking "Really? No one?" Or worse, they made the wish and it didn't come true. Meaning they know that they just don't want it enough. Or maybe World Peace is achieved in the Hallmark Cineverse. Maybe someone sleeps soundly in Evergreen at night, knowing why. Anyway I'd be more happy to have the updates as text under the videos.

i
irene · December 27, 2025

I came across one episode of the hallmark men reality show on cable tv and the challenge was that they had to work in teams to untangle christmas lights, except the christmas lights were wrapped around a huge weighted block that one of the men had to lift using a rope pulley system while the other guy untangled it. Except it seems like they had made the block WAY too heavy and overestimated how long they would be able to hold it up for, (it was like 80 lbs if i remember) so they were struggling a lot, turning red and getting really sweaty and complaining about how heavy it was. I think the producers designed the challenge to show how strong and sexy the men are but it actually revealed the opposite so that was really entertaining.

Maybe updates would feel like less part of the main video if you did them just as voiceover? Like, here’s the giant spider to tell you what Jenny’s working on in his giant spider voice. But really you should just do whatever you’re comfortable with —we’ll be fine

Regarding the updates, maybe I am alone in this but I feel like it adds a lot of charm to the old videos. Like idk when the update is like “I’m gonna do starcruiser next! Hopefully it will be a bit shorter than what I’m working on now” it just feels interesting to me to know that in fact it was not like that. But also I’m happy with the content as is, so like I wouldn’t mind but I don’t think of them as bad.

A
Annemarie Carlson · December 26, 2025

As someone who has been watching a lot of old rambles for the first time, I completely agree that you should take out the updates because it ruins the pacing. imo you don’t even owe us updates in general because it seems to stress you out and I don’t like you feeling pressured— we’ll just get what we get whenever

It don't think it's unheard of for a veterinarian in a small community with a farming contingent to serve both small and large animals. You're right that they would probably have more than one vet, so then while one is seeing outpatients, someone's at the office. It seems like it's the same principle as rural doctors where you just have to try to do a little bit of everything.

J
Jesse pinko · December 24, 2025

Jenny I know it’s too late for you to cover it I’m kicking myself for not commenting on the last video but you need to watch Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square. Appreciate your description of these rich people small towns, I always feel like I'm going crazy when I see these cutesy towns. Like, okay, I'm not necessarily expecting a trailer park, but in my dad's old town you'd have stuff like the farm implement dealership, the pharmacy, the mechanic's, a dance hall at the armory (tons of small towns had them, bands would travel in a circuit). And for sure there'd be somebody with a salvage side hustle where they'd buy stuff that (literally) fell off a truck, so on any given day there might be furniture or it might be a big pile of sheet metal. And he was in the county seat with the courthouse and a teacher's college and everything. Nowadays it's gonna be mostly Walmarts and stuff because those big chains are the only ones who can afford to keep a business running in a dying podunk-- the old standby mom and pop places go under.

The two Finding Mr. Christmas bits that I will always mention with little or no prompting: the winner of the first season was a dud. His movie, Happy Howlidays, really showed his limitations. I think Hallmarks are a challenging acting environment — they seem pressed for time and demanding in particular ways — so I’m glad they gave the winner of S2 a significant supporting role instead of a lead role this year, to cut his teeth a bit. Second, there’s an episode in S2 where a contestant is acting opposite Ashley Williams, lead of the first Christmas in Evergreen. The contestant keeps eating these enormous grapes and just won’t stop, and it honestly seems like Williams starts housing grapes in the scene in a “Let’s try to make this guy look normal” kinda way.

The metaphor of being stifled or trapped in the pursuit of an early idealized situation -- like getting back together with your first romantic partner -- is hinted at everywhere in these movies; some would say this theme appears unspoken in half the scenes in these movies even spelled out in foot-high letters on walls or giant signs: all the rom-com protagonists are trying to re-live their early EVERGREEN love stories, where everything felt (as far as they could tell) vibrant and exciting and perfect, because their love was randomly ended by Fate before it had a chance to fail. Following this lens, the entire town is an ongoing project to reject messy realities in the name of chasing a dream, like re-re-re-decorating the same green-but-long-dead pine Christmas Tree grandma bought ten years ago and never threw out. Moreover, the diner lady's panic and insistence on editing the visiting girl's broken snow-globe wish felt more like she knows that people who wish "to always spend Christmas in Evergreen" are often magickally kept there in decades of eternal meet-cute, bound there as securely as if they'd been trapped inside a giant glass snow-globe.

There's a 2007 ABC Christmas movie called Snowglobe where a woman gets a random and mysterious snowglobe in the mail and is magically transported into the Christmas town featured in said snowglobe. The snowglobe is huge with a giant wooden base and wind up mechanism. The globe scene itself is somewhat spare, but it's much more fitting for a mystical snowglobe and waaay better than the Evergreen one.

I'm watching Finding Mr. Christmas with my bachelor draft group, and we're loving it! It might not be meaty enough for a video topic. But the vibe is actually kinda wholesome and GBBO adjacent for me! All the men are best friend with each other, and at least once an episode a man cries because he's so pleased that everyone is complimenting his work (which is so silly and over the top but also still cute!) and it's been good vibes. Would text updates potentially be slightly more recent, since it'll be at time of editing, not filming? (Even if not, seems like a good justification for the change 😉)

New Englander here, I'm not sure where Evergreen is supposed to be in Vermont, but the Northeast part of the state is pretty unpopulated. I would assume "up North" refers to them being away skiing or at like a hunting cabin. I'm not sure why they would say "up North" instead of just "skiing" though.

Patron for many years and I will miss the off topic outros. I think of them as little time capsules, like trailers at the start of a worn-out VHS tape (Pizza Hut’s “right field” trailer on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tape)

They shot something at my neighbour's house in January and I'm pretty sure it was a hallmark movie. I didn't want to pry and ask them, but it was a small production that was there for like a week and they shot it right after a big snowfall. And defs don't feel obligated to include project updates in the video

I think it'd be fun to spice up the property by making the 5th movie A Murder in Evergreen. It gives the lead couple a good avenue to meet (one's an unspecified law enforcement officer, one's a local busybody) and there's also ample room for twists in re whether the murderer is a shady tourist or Old Johnny who was driven mad by the mercury fumes from the Xmas Museum.

L
Luis · December 24, 2025

But I would love a hotdog Your Nastiness! I think future video updates and notes in the video descriptions is a great idea let the rambles be about the rambles. Also love the Christmas plush especially Aragog's hat :D Happy holidays everyone and I hope you don't get too sick Jenny.

z

i would actually ALSO way prefer the updates in the text body because a lot of times i’ll zone out during the update portion or i’ll be asleep by then and it would make it easier to just glean the info about the update. the actual ramble topic is where the entertainment is, update is just info!!

my wife and I got a samsung TV this year after years of dedicated roku watching, and we quickly got really into the free channels — particularly the free hallmark one. you’re getting the real c list of hallmark content on there. we ended up forming a gilmore girls kind of attachment to a show called “good witch” (no the) that had neither the budget nor the creative will to really show any on screen magic. it was mostly just a small town lite drama where a bland woman owned an inn and vaguely maha-coded apothecary/candle shop. it got cycled out for the christmas content and I miss it dearly. rip good witch

N
Natalie · December 24, 2025

I LOVE THE GOOD WITCH. I can't believe how hard they leaned in to there being no actual magic, it's almost camp. They have several movies called THE good witch, and also made a shorter format series called just good witch, with the same premise. If it doesn't get put back in the rotation you should check your library! Mine has some Hallmark DVDs but also hoopla has a bingepass for Hallmark+ with soo much stuff on there!

T
Ted Koutz · December 23, 2025

Hallmark Christmas movie romance writers should watch the alarmist 95 TV movie Deadly Invasion: The Killer Bee Nightmare and take note of the "hunky beekeeper who provides a ton of exposition about bees" character. He has long hair, an unconventional job, is good with (thousands of) animals, and is charming. IIRC he doesn't date anyone, (like a hot divorced mom who moves to a town full of bees) which is one of this movie's several flaws. Not saying Hallmark Christmas movies should fill their sets with live and CGI bees which would present filming challenges and tone issues but you *can* have interesting people in your romance thing. Modelling your male love interest after that guy would be a start

w
wwwww · December 23, 2025

Yes, it was filmed at the Burnaby Village Museum! They did renovate but honestly the original interior looked better in photos than irl. The outside is still old-timey, including the patio. They have a free Christmas event every year: https://www.burnabyvillagemuseum.ca/EN/main/what-s-on/festive-village.html If you ever come up to Vancouver for a video, I'd also recommend Merry and Bright, the other fake Hallmark Christmas town where they film all the stuff. It's pretty close to Fort Langley, a non-fake super cute town where a bunch of Hallmark Movies are filmed (Love Hard on Netflix comes to mind). I bet one of the town's tourism boards would cover your travel if you wanted to do a video, it's a super cheap flight.

M
Mary Dedrick · December 24, 2025

I was going to suggest Martini Town too! (Also Fort Langley is moderately fake, as the buildings are mostly recreations built in the 1950s! Also, fun fact: the original fort was near Derby Reach park!)

wrt what you asked about at the end: i would actually prefer it if you put updates on projects in the text instead of at the end of videos! i dont always want to watch every ramble but i am always curious about how the main channel videos are going, so having them in the text for the rambles would be more convenient than skipping to the ends of ones im not as interested in. and (way more important than my personal preferences) youd be doing what you actually want to do. so please, go for it!

D

Also for queer Hallmark movies I genuinely recommend The Christmas Setup. Fran Drescher plays the mom trying to set up the high-powered lawyer main character while he's back home for Christmas, it's very cute. Single All the Way is fun too (Jennifer Coolidge is in it) and it's on Netflix.

e
emily !! · December 23, 2025

I am not going to claim that Hallmark is a shining star of representation, because it certainly is Not. But we still get gay characters in modern movies! This year we got Jonathan Bennett (because, as another person pointed out, he is responsible for most of the gay rep on Hallmark) with a male LI in the ensemble movie Keller Christmas Vacation. We also got a lesbian married couple as our full leads for our final movie of the year, The Christmas Baby. They refuse to actually use the word gay or lesbian in the movie, but they do gesture to the fact that a lesbian couple faces unique experiences (there's talk about how "couples like us don't normally have a surprise baby"). It's baby steps, but we're still going forward.

As this went on, I kept thinking "maybe I'll watch those for a laugh" and then thinking "but they're not actually funny; it's the commentary". So I guess I'm suggesting that you need a Mystery Science Theater style collab series with Hallmark.

E
Ellis · December 23, 2025

As someone who recently watched the entire backlog, I didn't mind skipping the video updates. That said, I'm on board with leaving the updates out of the videos themselves. It would make them feel more finished.

T
Tash · December 23, 2025

Burnaby village mentioned! 🗣️ A staple for field trips in the lower mainland lol. I don’t know if it made an appearance in the movies (since i will never watch them) but they also have a beautiful old indoor carousel there. Which could have had some great plot points. Maybe it malfunctions and two of the love interests get stuck on it? Maybe that tinker-er love interest would have to fix the carousel before the annual Christmas merry-go-ride? Maybe instead of the magic generic snow globe, they dress up one of the horses as a reindeer and IT grants wishes when you ride it. Endless possibilities.

J
Jenny Nicholson · December 23, 2025

One of the couple could think the other has left Evergreen and is never coming back, then on Christmas they go to the carousel (they said in a previous scene that they had cherished memories of it and wish to see it restored). Suddenly it lights up and turns to reveal the love interest standing on it in a coat and scarf with an "aw shucks it's me" type expression

A
Anna Wegener · December 23, 2025

In response to your plea at the end, I say: do whatever you want. I like your content, and I’m planning to watch no matter how you present it (for the love of god, please continue to stay “low budget,” I can’t take the over edited YouTubers). Usually, if there’s a seasonal topic from a previous year, I either click out before your updates at the end or reminisce about when that video came out. As for Hallmark content: yeah, Finding Mr. Christmas is not the gold mine you’d expect and is frankly kind of boring? The most baffling thing is all of these hot men going “I’ve never acted before in my life” on a show where the prize is A JOB ACTING. Another Hallmark Christmas movie series you might consider is A Godwink Christmas, which I find boring, but frequently have insane premises. There’s also the Cherry Tree Lane movies, the Christmas House (with a canonical gay couple!), and the 3 Wise Men and a Baby movies, which are sequels but have a ton of meat tbh. I just feel so lucky to hear your thoughts on these terrible boring movies!

E
Eric MacMillan · December 23, 2025

Jenny, have you considered maybe making the "what I've been working on" section a small, separate video? Maybe it could be for the $5 and up tier and count as the "video previews" reward for that tier. IDK anything about video production so I don't know how much more work it would be, but maybe small videos with brief clips of things you worked on for the past month would allow you to keep doing those video updates without having to attach them to rambles. Anyways, awesome ramble as always, I hope you feel better!

L

Just as a note on the veterinary side of things: a lot of small towns just have a single-vet practice and that vet handles both large and small animals, so that's not too outlandish to me. Haven't seen the first movie, so I could be wrong, but when you mentioned that her former lover was in DC, my assumption was that she applied for the job to be close to him, not that the DC practice head hunted her. In 2018 in the US we were starting to feel the strain of the vet shortage, so it tracks as to why she may have gotten the gig (plus running a single-vet practice, she probably has a lot more cases under her belt than most other applicants her age, which could be attractive to the DC practice). Shame on her for not lining up a replacement for her town, though (haven't finished your summary, she might have lol)
