I wanted it to be good, this is disappointing but not surprising.
Also, not gonna lie, I'd love to see Jack Sparrow ascend to godhood and fight gods. It would be so hilariously stupid, that it would be awesome.
Something like this kinda happens in the Chinese epic novel, "Monkey."
The reason they keep making these movies is beacause the Pirates franchise is HUGE in china. It's as big in China, as Star Wars is in the US. At this point they're making these movies for Chinese audiences, with american audiences as an afterthought.
