My subway order is bread with ham. And cookies. But yes, the ham and bread ARE special and different from normal bread/ham
I completely understand this phobia
An abandoned park near us is/was Blobbyland at Cricket st Thomas near Chard in the south west of England. For anyone outside of the UK, who doesn't know who Mr Bobby is, he's a giant pink mascot character with googley eyes and a voicebox that is beyond frightening. He was hugely popular in the 90s and I'm begging any of you to look it up. The park was tiny, but urban explorers loved the grounds because up until recently you could visit the site (now a golf course - boo!!) and see all of the abandoned buildings including his house, with animatronic blobby wife and children (I think they were a race of aliens?) so his wife is him with longer lashes and a bow 😂
Good lord…Mr Blobby is already one of mankind’s most horrifying creations, I cannot imagine wandering around an abandoned theme park full of his decaying corpses.
drink when: jenny identifies an animatronic the person filming reaches for the mouth the person filming does something lifethreatening or illegal chaos mode: jenny screams in horror i think it's an airtight drinking game
I love how practical Jenny's fears are lol. "Abandoned buildings are scary... because you could fall 😥"
I am french and i do not ANY recognize these critters FYI. Apart from the giant who is definitely Gargantua from Rabelais’ book and the likely Chat Botté (Puss in boots) i cannot tell who any of these people are. And yeah, the news report shows the interview of a guy at the dismantling who mentions how moved he is cause he won’t get to see all of this again…
I would have loved to see Mirapolis they should have given it more time :(
i love seeing Jenny react in abject horror to the loving touches to creepy decrepit old things. I also do this when exploring the industrial condemned buildings around me, tho I can't say why. objectively both worse and more understandable to do it to characters I think
I love the Jenny scream-cringe. WHY IS HE TOUCHING ITTTTTT? EWWWWWWW!
The next time you visit Seattle, please check out the Family Fun Center in Tukwila, they seem to still have a Bullwinkle animatronic show
That's my childhood Chucky Cheese in that video; I always wondered why they looked so different from commercials.
it was so funny and COOL to see you talk about WEM because I grew up going there constantly and now work there :) the sharks and fish you saw still live in the aquarium! basically the subs used to go around the lake and look into windows of the aquarium (which you can still visit and look at from the opposite side). there were also a ton of tanks that were only viewable from the subs and are now empty. some of the movie theater animatronics are still up, theyre like these men in davinci type flying machines but they no longer move, they just hang there haha
the Mirapolis creatures are based on really famous (in france, at least) children fables written in the 1600s ish by Jean de la Fontaine…so many theme parks in france actually reference these!! it’s just kind of a thing everyone learns about in elementary school, and so they’re super easy subjects for quick stories with animatronics :) many of his fables were also re-modernizations/retellings of aesop’s fables
Has Jenny ever been to Puy du Fou?
The large size of the animatronics in the Never Ending Story ride is so cool to see, because it seems like they’re trying to get close to their in-movie proportions. A lot of the whimsy of the film was all these gigantic creatures and the grand epic scale of everything, so it makes sense that they’re all so large. The Rock Biter is definitely a favorite character, he’s a big gentle giant that eats rocks! And the puppy faced snail is a Racing Snail, and is actually very fast and one of the characters rides it like a horse. And the turtle shoots water probably because he’s sneezing which is a little gross, but it’s part of the movie too. Never Ending Story was one of my favorite movies as a kid, up there with The Labyrinth though it was scarier and more intense. If you like the puppets and general vibe of The Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal, Never Ending Story is probably worth a watch!
Is this anyone else’s favourite Patreon video? I find it so comforting, weirdly, to have Jenny take is through each video cos if I was watching them by myself I’d get too scared.
Tbh every new video is my new favorite. I’m so happy to see more Jenny. I’d been waiting for more YouTube vids and not till rewatching her Star Wars hotel vid I was like “hmm, she does have a Patreon….” SO HAPPY to sub and have all these new videos
Rip mirapolis 💔 :(
The thing that scares me is all the dust and mildew flying around, allergies would be SO bad in these places I went to Bugaboo Creek as a kid! It was overwhelmingly loud and annoying because there were TVs and also the moose constantly talking and a bunch of other things being set off at random. Great place to eat if you like sensory overload and want your meals interrupted by jumpscares, I guess.
My theory is that abandoned animatronics typically don't move so they don't see the point in recording a still object. So they just take a photo since it's basically just posing for one anyway.
jenny could make a 2 hour long video breaking down shades of white and i would be so entertained the entire time
A video just pop up in my youtube feed named "L'histoire de Mirapolis" by the channel Mes passions which is a compilation of news report from back when it was in operation and they tell a pretty funny drama that happened that Jenny didn't talk about and I thought was worth sharing. So 2 days after the park official opening, they had to close it because there was a clash between police officers and "forains" (showman according to google translate). They were angry because the park had some favorable tax rates from what I understand. And they went berserk lol: They first broke some rides and then charged the police officers, turned their cars over and even rammed through the police with the police cars. There were quite a few people who got injured unsurprisingly. But, plot twist: The same dude who first mobilized the showmen to wreck the theme park finally bought it when it declared bankruptcy. He wanted to show that he could run the park. At 12:50 in the video there is an ad for the park and my god this is the cringiest ad I've ever seen... Anyway, I thought this was a funny backstory.
Oh my god! I’ve been on the Jaws ride in universal Japan! It was very charming and impressive.
I went to the West Edmonton Mall a couple years ago, and wandered around some of the closed attractions, really wild how much stuff is in there! But! The saddest thing, is that literally in the lagoon area you were looking at, they have sea lion show with a live sea lion. There wasn't a show time while we were there, but I was determined to see the sea lion anyway, and I wish I hadn't :( Because I caught a glimpse inside this fake rock feature, and saw that the sea lion is kept in a cage inside of the rock, just in a featureless little concrete room about the size of a small bathroom :((((( And when me and my friends got to chatting with some employees in a shop, I was making jokes about wanting to break out the sea lion, and the girls said that I should, because every night after closing they hear the sea lion crying through the whole mall!!!! It absolutely breaks my heart whenever I think about it :(((((
The scientifically proven human response is to reach out and touch animatronic faces and mouths.
Reasonably certain that that Bullwinkle's/Boomer's is the one I went to a few times as a kid.
ironically I'm watching this while sick after having a grilled cheese & soup, the kidcore observation was spot on.
OMG Jenny have you heard of House on the Rock? If not you should definitely look into it. Its just a massive collection of kinda everything? There's tons oflarge musical machines that just play a song when you activate them, a faux alley full of little tiny mechanical things in glass cases that preform a little show when you push a button, and that isnt even mentioning the enormous scene that fills a 4-story room of a life size whale battling the kraken??!! And that barely scratches the surface! It's honestly probably the coolest unthemed collection of random yet organized things on the planet.
Im super late to this but if I volunteer to translate french materials from Mirapolis, including finding what even the theming was haha Im a québ but have ideas on what some of those could be🤔
Super late to the party and you probably already know about it, but since you included the Neverending Story ride from Movie Park Germany I thought it was worth mentioning. Back when it still was Warner Bros. Movie World, there was also a Gremlins (and ALF) themed dark ride featuring a lot of (admittedly very basic) animatronics. Sadly it was closed when they lost the Warner Bros. license, but I still remember riding it and covering my eyes for basically the whole ride because I was too scared...
That was the old studio tour right? When I went they'd redone it to be a short themed rollercoaster with an original character that was a film slate with eyes. I really liked it but idk how much of the original infrastructure they used since I think the old one wasn't a coaster
Man when Jenny said she had never seen never ending story I had to take a quick drink so I could spit it out all over my computer.
Same! I hope she watches it, I think she'd really love it.
late to the party but 1:03:00 onward really got me! I got trapped on the Small World ride at disney for like over an hour. The animatronics were in poor shape and while they kept singing and moving, some of them were missing their heads or other limbs. It's one of those things where when you're able to look close enough, you realize how creepy they have the potential to be. Spooky!
No way, is that first video from the Bullwinkle's in Medford New York? I remember going there so many times as a kid!
I kind of can't believe that Jenny didn't never mentioned that the guy who got out of the pirates ride was also HOLDING a BABY. One thing to take the risk for you, but to also have a baby.. jeez
This video preparing me for the 2 part defunctland animatronics series coming in the future
omg!! i'm finally catching up on patreon videos, and i'm so excited to see you reacted to a video of western village! i discovered the theme park in rural japan two years ago when we were surprised to see the heads of mount rushmore peaking out of a dense forest on the way to the nikko hospital. i went up pretty close to get a view of the buildings, but didn't end up risking my visa to break in and take a look around. very cool place! my favorite building is definitely "the legend of the little snail"
My submechaniaphobia (which I didn't even know had a name thanks !) peaked at the Jaws section. AHGH!!! I can't even look in the water at World of Color in the daytime...*shutters*
the bullwinkles from the beginning was one that i had my childhood birthday party in for years! they were some of the best parties i had when i was little. it was a boomers when i went there, and didn't know its history. the whole time i was thinking about it, since the anniversary for those parties is today! that's a wild coincidence, and it's so nice to see it again even though it's all abandoned. i have vivid memories and can even see the spots that i sat in when i was little waiting for my friends to come to my party, really awesome
I’m so excited for the November video
Whoa Visalia mention! That’s our Chuck E’ Cheese. The last time I went was in 2013-14 ish. They looked better than that video, but they were very audibly clicky. They were cleaned up a bit with the FNAF craze.
Well this is a weird way to find out that the West Edmonton mall submarine I rode as a kid doesn't exist anymore
Happy Thanksgiving Eve Jenny! Hope you and your loved ones are doing great and hopefully you can spend time with your family. :)
One day this will happen to the new Walt Disney anamatronic
Here to say that Im on a bit of a realmtube deep dive and this content is really something
these podcasts are what trump being president again feels like
Futuroscope is mostly "what the future will be" but seen in 2005 so a nice park to do but probably only once. And the best themed stuff are ... in the rides waiting line . I haven't been in a few years but it still a cute experience. Also if you don't know there's Puy du Fou a medieval themed park but with (as I remember) no attractions. It's more like workers roleplays and little shows throughout the park
I enjoyed seeing the various defunct parks, but was a bit sad you didn’t include the footage of the Orlando 20,000 Thousand League’s Under the Sea ride after it was abandoned, with the animatronic squid/dragon thing abandoned in the dark warehouse. Maybe there is not footage of it. I loved that ride when I went at 4 years old, and didn’t realize for a long time it shut down shortly after I went to Disney World. https://youtu.be/UFEVu5jcDqI?si=qmH_5EDnKIJlywj_
Have you seen her other ramble about “top 10 defunct theme park rides”? She shares a ride through of 20,000 leagues and goes into a lot of detail about how wonderful the fish are.
Kevin Perjurer confirmed that the next Defunctland episode is about Disney animatronics. If Jenny somehow makes an appearance it'll be the crossover of the century.
You should listen to their podcast episode together!
Late to the party but i will say im glad jenny pointed out the difference in Japanese and US urban exploration culture. The problem is so prevalent that one of the best Japanese urban explorers, Tommy (Aka Ikumi Nakamura of Bayonetta fame), kept a good deal of locations she explored a secret because other locations she visited were vandalized after she posted about them on her website. It sucks so much that people cant leave these sites alone, or even protected sites like National Parks alone without vandalizing them or littering.
I know this is off topic, but does Jenny's fan base have a name? What if we were called, the Skippies? o¿o
Oh my god, I've never met anybody else who feels the same way about the cheese at Subway. My regular order is ham with extra white American cheese.
Omg as a former Edmonton local who has spent a lot of time at WEM the scuba part was electric. The mall used to be really cool, I wish I could see it in its hay day not as a child.
The mall ride gave me flashbacks to the Meier & Frank building in Portland. They had a monorail on the ceiling of the room where people met Santa, and we rode it every year. I think one part was dark and covered in stars like a night sky? Some of the weird buildings here also brought me back to The Enchanted Forest and how surreal of a park that was to visit as a kid lmao
I absolutely adore those giant teddy bears in the Japanese western park! They are so stinking cute and they remind me of my mom's little teddy bear Christmas Carol tchotchke collection I used to play with
Jenny, I'm a 30+ year old man who's hunted, fished, farmed. I am also disgusted by restaurants with taxidermy animals, especially if they're hanging above the diners... there are definitely little particulates of dust from the animals floating down on you while you eat :(
I know, right??? I personally don't eat meat, but even for people who do, I've always been confused how they didn't feel reaaally weird about taxidermy - I certainly feel the same way about embalming humans - the fact that they just keep the husk of what once was alive, pose it as if living, and then replace the eyes???? It unsettles me to no end
Have you seen the video with all the proposed theme park sketches by Wes Cook? It has trees with faces! https://youtu.be/Df_K7pIsfvg?si=V0vjgW1xQF6SEvt_
Jennys reaction to animatronics reminds me of that lady scared of olives on the Maury show.
I love how Jenny loves animatronics but is also terrified of them.
14:22 for some !REAL! Paranormal Content(TM) (Look to the left of his arm on the beige wall behind him.)
It's been almost 2 weeks and I can't stop thinking about Jenny's Subway order 😩 the way she described the simple cheese and veggie sandwich made it sound so delectable...ahhhh I'm getting one after work!!
I am shocked that you have never seen The Neverending Storyyyyyyyyyyy ahahahahahahahaaaaaa lol dream a dream and what you seeeee will beee eee eeeeeee
If you sing the song Jenny’s gonna have to write a check to Limahl
If you want to have a quick look at what Mirapolis looks like now, there is a drone image on Google maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ygzf1HtiieqmcsZ48?g_st=ac
I cant wait for your review of Tiana's Bayou Adventure, which was exactly what you predicted an empty hallway with a few animatronics.
she tweeted that she liked it
Omg I forgot all about Bugaboo and that section brought back SO many nostalgic memories! I lived very close to one and used to go all the time as a kid. I loved how it wasn’t a show that broke up your dinner — stuff would just randomly happen and you could go back to eating. Although on a non-animatronic note, every time it was someone’s birthday they’d use this giant moose hand puppet as they sang. One time a child screamed because they weren’t expecting it and I laughed so hard I cried
1:42:18 “He’s in rough shape, but it still exists!” Same silvester Jr… Same…
As a kid, West Edmonton Mall was such a delight. Multiple movie theatres, a full amusement park, a water park, a dolphin show (simpler times when I didn't know those were terrible), and a submarine ride to rival 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the ride I thought should be a bigger priority than finding my lost older brother. (He was fine, is fine, his daughter threw shade at me for loving the submarine ride when I took her on it and it was the bad Finding Nemo screen ride it has become.) You could have a full Disney-style vacation without seeing outdoors for three days. Most of the best parts are gone, like the New Orleans themed hall of restaurants, and Laser Tag against robots, but in my tween years, I thought a weekend at West Ed was an equivalent experience to my brother getting to spend spring break in Russia (see above comment re: dolphin shows). Not long after I said West Edmonton Mall was my favourite vacation destination and my father threatened to disown me on spot. Like proper Figment and the Kitchen Cabaret, treasured memories that are lost to kitsch history.
Girly you HAVE to watch the Neverending story! It has such Jenny Vibes (if that makes any sense)
I love all the Martinelli’s ciders!!
I used to go to bugaboo creek all the time as a kid in New Hampshire, I’ve seen some ephemera and animatronics at Deja vu furniture in Londonderry New Hampshire if anyone is interested!
Watching the first video gave me a migraine haha. Idk why people move so quickly when filming these things. I couldn't even make it out really due to how fast they were going.
Hey Jenny, I live near west edmonton mall and to say it’s just a generic huge mall now is not totally true. Unfortunately some iconic attractions are no longer there, but the mall still has the huge lagoon with sea lions and a pirate ship, as well as an indoor water park and amusement park. Although it has lost a lot of it’s campy charm, I think you would enjoy a visit if you were ever nearby, since it still has a theme park-like atmosphere in some ways.
came here to say this! i went for the first time i couple years ago (i’m from toronto) and had SO much fun
The visceral reactions are my favorite!
"Ahhh, is he in the pants!?" 😂
Great video! And I agree with others, you should watch The Neverending Story! The rock guy you liked from the ride is called Rockbiter, the tortoise is Morla, the snails are from the movie too, racing snails, and the dragon is Falkor! :)
Is there a way to watch these videos at a size somewhere between small and fullscreen?
watch the youtube upload in theater mode and resize the window, maybe?
You talking about Rockafire and other animatronic kitch made me remember that the Volo Auto Museum north of Chicago had a fully operational Rockafire animatronic band last time I went. They also had some displays that were the semi-moving animatronics and stationary statues that used to be in mall Disney stores, and I heard they now have some of the classic Disneyland Toy Factory Mold-A-Ramas that pop out little plastic Disney characters, too! I really need to go back and see if those are still available.
I got evac'ed from Spaceship Earth in 2021. It was one of several rides we got stuck on that trip. I believe Disney's lack of investment in ride maintenance will create more opportunities for rare evacs.
French person here, if you don't know what "Casimir" and his "L'Île aux enfants" (children's island) is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look into it! It's this crazy orange guy with his friends, you're gonna love it!
Time to rewatch every single video on this patreon on repeat for the next four years. Also can someone with money please add 'jenny watching and reacting to The Neverending Story' on the topic list?
There have been many shocking events in the last week but none quite as shocking as the revelation that Jenny has not seen that movie. Cult Disney films is on the list this month. The Neverending Story isn’t a Disney film but maybe she’ll include it if it wins next month. She’s been known to stray pretty far from literal interpretations of topics.
Fun fact about the "Indian village" in wdw- I know it from the railroad! Then in the Kingdom Keepers book series there is a very tense section where they have to hide in the teepees from the villain (maleficent iirc). So jokes on you video, I never forgot them 😂
I highly recommend watching Jenny's "Top 10 Defunct Theme Park Rides" ramble and then watch this one. The Hollywood Tour video is even more frightening having watched the ridethrough!
I've been enarmored by the Hollwood Ride (last one) since i was a little little kid [RIP HollywoodBahn und Silbermine (dthat one caught on fire so okay fair)], and the Scariest Thing on that ride nis right at the beginning. when you get in the boats, there is an Alfred hitchcock Animatronic. Who for some reason only speaks english? Maybe they just ripped audio of the actual Alfred Hitchcock going "Hello, I am Alfred Hitchcock". Because it used to be the Wild West out here. Anyway, they didnt do great upkeep on him, so the last time i remember going, it was very clearly Zombie Alfred Hitchcock. I wonder what happened to him, or the Sharks or the truly Giant King Kong that would try to grab your boat.
Inspired by Jenny Nicholson this week. Our D&D session is going to be the party discovering an old abandoned theme park style dark ride that tells the history and lore of the location but also has broken down animatronics to fight.
martinelli's is better than real wine and no one can convince me otherwise
The new camera looks great!
It's fun how Jenny both loves and fears animatronics more than anyone else on earth
Searched diligently to make sure someone else hadn't already said this, but someone actually did fall into the water on the Jaws ride in 1990! What always stuck out to me about that story was that because of where he fell, he looked like he was being chased by one of the animatronics, and his young son thought Jaws was going to eat his dad. That and the fact that people applauded when he got pulled out of the water because they thought it was part of the ride.
Holy shit I can't believe that first urbex video is of the Long Island Bullwinkles, we used to go there all the time when I was young, after it got converted to Boomers, too. I thought that mini golf course looked familiar! I have to watch that youtube video.
Trixie Mattel could NEVER
i also feel like this video is dredging up old memories of being at one of those pizza places (i vividly remember the mouse girl) where the animatronics were starting to break down. maybe it's a false memory brought on by years of exposure to creepy animatronic content, but i swear i remember being at one of these restaurants and going "huh, that one's not moving" while watching the show.
I felt like I could smell the dank water and mold, ugh, no thank you, very chilling! Perfect spooky video for Halloween. The vibe of these places reminds me of House on the Rock in Wisconsin. It's not abandoned, but it is definitely aging, and recently had a fire this past July from from the Manikin Orchestra room. That place is such a disorienting, sprawling mess, but it has charm and I hope it stays open for a while. And about 2 hours north from there in Wisconsin is the FAST Fiberglass Mold Graveyard, which is open to the public; I haven't made a trip yet, but it looks very curious.
seeing the japanese amusement park animatronics in such good shape makes me almost wish collectors would go snatch them up before some dumbass american kids find their way in and tear them apart. it's sad that the popularity of these videos documenting abandoned places often lead to those places being destroyed.
The video quality is nice!
Happy Halloween Jenny and all the other Americans!!! <3 and happy Diwali to Hindus and happy Samhain to any Irish people that may be here 😌 I’m a couple of days late but oh wdll
Surprised there wasnt an un-honorable mention of that guy who got naked in the 'its a small world after all' ride That would be a perfect ending for this video. Its scary. And animatronic related. Anyway feel better soon. Love your videos :)
I’m surprised that you think Jenny would mock someone undergoing a medical emergency regardless of the issue that triggered it (drug, mental illness, low blood sugar, diabetes, whatever happened to that guy.)
I have this very vague memory from childhood of being at Chucky Cheese and one of my friends sitting on the edge of the stage in front of the animatronic band. I remember at the end of the show, the curtain started to close and her mom had to run down and snatch her before she was trapped with the animatronics
Oh man, I'm Belgian American and would go back home to Belgium twice a year for my whole childhood, and I was BEYOND excited when Meli Park/Plopsaland was mentioned and she even remembered what country it was in 🥰
The parents in Spirited Away mistook the spirit bath-house for an abandoned theme park… now I’m imagining a version of that movie where Chihiro gets stuck in an old western town full of rotting cowboy animatronics lol.
I went on the submarine ride in the west edmonton mall as a child and it haunted my nightmares for so many years I stopped believing it was real at all.
the animatronic piano guy's face part being flesh colored is sending me bc i feel like that lends much more of a body horror aspect than if his face was the same color as the rest of the piano
I had a chance to go to Bullwinkle's as a kid and my parents wouldn't let me. It's gone now. I'm still upset to this day. I loved Rocky and Bullwinkle as a kid. Videos of it just fill me with rage. It still looks amazing!! It would have been so fun. I'm a grown man, but I'm never getting over this.
What videos are you working on? You didn’t say at the end like you usually do 😊
I went to Phantasieland back in the mid 90s. At the time they also had a version (tbh a straight-up ripoff) of the Jungle Cruise. It was a weird experience for someone who grew up in SoCal and went on the real thing countless times.
Lol so fun fact, when I went we went on the ride in that part of the lake which no longer has any theming, at one point put in waterguns but later took them out, so it's now just a slow silent ride past rotting platforms https://x.com/JennyENicholson/status/1564502157985951744?t=sj817xrIQeN1UB_rbxr7rg&s=19
I really appreciate Jenny’s dedication to her Patreon supporters. She could easily have said, “I’m sick do you guys mind if this one is a week late I’m sorry,” but being a trouper she banged it out anyway, with her little red nose, and it’s completely funny and entertaining. (I mean the video, not her nose.)
I feel so validated to hear that you also had a lot of food fears as a kid the way I did 😭 and tbh still do. I was afraid of rice and lasagna specifically.
Cooked tomatoes and meat on the bone were my banes
I’ve been evac’d from Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion so it does happen on Omnimovers! Maybe one day you’ll be lucky 😆
I grew up going to the Upland Bullwinkles and remember their indoor two story mini golf being very cool and kind of spooky, I didn’t know it had reopened! It turned into a Boomers in between and lost the charm. I’ll have a to check it out!
Showbiz Pizza was life. Animatronics, videogames and pizza, couldn't ask for more.
The poor furless spider on Hollywood Tour was so close to the boats passing through its legs, I used to pet it everytime I was on there. Sadly could not reach its mouth though.
Did you at least roughly push each of its legs up and down a few times without saying anything
Jenny i love your videos cause I always feel like you properly react to exciting or scary things. I feel like some YouTube rs don't properly react. I am always satisfied when we both go WWOOAAHHHAAA at the same time lol
Love how that last clip by a local German tabloid newspaper is just constantly trashtalking the place, lol ("it looks quite old and dusty now, the park didn't comment on abandoning this once huge investment of theirs" and other such comments)
Does anyone else think the weirdly up close videos of the Chuck E. cheese animatronics is f*tish content 😭 I can handle every video except for those they give me the creeps
me, a common patron of Bugaboo Creek as a child: THAT'S BUGABOO!! THE MOOSE IS BUGABOO, THATS HIM!!!! Edit: Bugaboo the Moose was stationed behind the bar, and had two modes: during peak hours it was on a pre-programmed mode where Bugaboo would sometimes say the ads etc you hear in this video, plus like, cringe dad jokes. Off-peak, the bartenders had a little switchboard under the bar with pre-programmed phrases so that Bugaboo could "talk" with guests directly, especially kids
the bear in the FNAF garage looks really similar to the bear puppet from the big blue house, only the animatronic has glasses and a wrinklier face. maybe that specific style of bear was just really popular in that time period
Tfw Jenny’s patreon made me eligible to make $30-$150 from a class action lawsuit.
If Jenny wrote a Saw screenplay: Randy Moore inserts the tape and presses play. He hears the voice of Jigsaw. “I offer you a simple choice. You can have a sundae in an ice cream parlor in which a waffle has recently been overcooked or you can touch a broken moose robot. You escaped from tomorrow. Can you escape a themed restaurant marketed to the families with young children demographic?”
Omg this was incredible. Have you ever seen the movie "The Funhouse"? It's incredibly atmospheric and uses actual genuine antique puppets and animatronics as props.
Love that movie! Would definitely recommend.
Hellboo, Jenny. Hellboo, everyone
Hi Jenny, is there any way you can re-enable comments on your unlisted patreon youtube videos? If we're allowed to comment on here, if the video is unlisted on youtube, like to be able to comment on there too.
YouTube doesn’t allow comments on unlisted videos anymore I don’t think. I cant enable comments on mine, so
suddenly wish the abandoned theme park in spirited away was wild west themed
BUGABOO CREEK MENTIONED!!!!! COMMON JENNY WIN!!!!!!
ASDGASDGHASDG OMG HI BESTIE, GLAD TO SEE YOU ALSO WENT "!!!! BUGABOO"
Been hoping this would win for a long time 👏👏👏
Had a Showbiz near me when I was very young (mid-late 80's) that became a Major Magics in the early 90's. It was gone by 95'. Seeing the various band members brought back memories.
also lol you did get the names right of the ShowBiz animatronics!! and i wholeheartedly agree that that's staged asf and clearly they're in the hands of a passionate collector. but when he said he went into a warehouse to escape the owner, for a split second i was like NOOO GET OUT bc Aaron Fechter likes to blow up his warehouses 😅 (can you tell by my username i don't like him?)
i get the being afraid of food thing. my subway order was bread and ham. unfortunately i never grew out of this.
it looked like CavitySam's hand to me lol but maybe i'm just conditioned to think everyone retrieving animatronics is her at this point
I appreciate the detail put into the background
Jenny's talk about not being able to eat around the taxidermy animals was really relatable to me. When I was a child my mom took us to a restaurant and there was a painting or photo of the 3 stooges and they were doing dental work on one of the stooges. I kept gagging because of it and we had to leave!
Gargantua from the French park is from Rabelais - Gargantua and Pantagruel
what a lovely halloween color pallet 🧡💜 I'm also feeling solidarity as i currently also have a cold
BROO that former bullwinkles turned boomers is the one i went to as a kid. when i went it was boomers. that’s wild. It’s been closed since covid. wouldn’t be surprised if there are new videos of people exploring it.
Thank you for the ramble Jenny, and belated Happy Halloween!! I loved how this went from spooky to wholesome to... whatever those dancing ladies were. I hope you're feeling better!
How could you NOT touch them? That's like half the point.
This is reminding me is there any updates on buzzy?
Growing in WA I spent so many birthdays and youth group outings at The Family Fun center and Bulwinkles restaurant and it wasn’t until I was WAY older that I found out that rocky and bullwinkle were well known characters and not just the mascots of this one amusement center in Tukwila, WA
This was me too but with the wilsonville, OR location! Now I live near the Tukwila one lmao
Hi Jenny, how was your Halloween? Hope you had a fun day, thanks for the video! :)
What is upblood?
Not much, what's up with you? Also, upblood = upload, I believe
The person trying to do a scary video in a clearly very nice and decorated guest house is so funny
I grew up near the Oregon bullwinkles! Around 2010 I went with a group of friends, we were teenagers. There was not a single other person in the dining room while we were in there, so we hopped on stage with the animatronics and took a picture during their set. Wild to look back on, and I really wish I had the picture but the friend who uploaded it has since deleted their Facebook.
"Is it his birthday?"
I lived in Germany 1988-1991 and remember being insanely jealous of my friend because he got to go to Mirapolis and I didn’t. BUT the town I lived in did have a small forgotten and abandoned theme park called Löwen Safari I got to play in a few times
I'm not mad about it but at around 16:25 Jenny says "Bullwinkle and Rocky" instead of "Rocky and Bullwinkle" and for some reason I found that very off-putting. In the sense that my brain was like "Well its not incorrect....but that's not usually the order in which we hear those names...."
I love how soft-spoken and demure Jenny is when speaking French
Haven't read through all the comments, so maybe someone already said something similar, but a possible explanation for why Mirapolis couldn't find someone to buy back the park is that at the time French people weren't super used to the concept of theme parks (Disneyland paris wasn't open yet, and it's construction came with massive backlash ) It took Disneyland and Parc Asterix and their more recognizable characters to get french people familiarized with the concept and accept the steep price of an admission ticket. Tbh, maybe there's still a distrust of theme parks here... Don't quote me on this but I don't think Disneyland Paris was ever really profitable?
Mirapolis > Megalopolis
Mirapolis is Jenny's Megalopolis
The fear of food as a kid is your most relatable moment yet lol
Hell yeah. Also fun fact for Jenny, there's champagne sealing corks you can get for a couple bucks at liquor stores that'll close sparkling cider and stuff for later 👍
The description of the taxidermy display of the owl at Bullwinkle’s unlocked a core memory of the days my brother and I would frequent the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. The very top floor had an area that I remember looked similar to like the wall of a mountain, and when you walked inside, taxidermy animals would be displayed behind glass. It’s unfortunate I couldn’t find a picture of this to properly demonstrate what I’m trying to talk about, but probably because it was overshadowed by literally everything else there, like the mummy. I think it was also quite random considering that right across from it was a faux construction playground, and I could go on and on about that playground, that was one of the best! Happy Halloween everyone!!
I’ve saw the Bunyip a few times when I was young. My best friend’s 4 year old boy dressed as the Bunyip for Halloween yesterday.
This is the greatest video in the world and I feel so blessed to be watching it
Futuroscope are moving away slowly but surely from pure screen based rides. Mission Bermudes doesn't look like it will be screen based. Even chasseurs de tornades isn't entirely screen based
Explorer touches a perfectly normal cartoon animatronic: "eww noooo don't touch it!" The freakiest Masahiro Ito ass monstrosity I have ever seen in my little life: "aw cute"
I was so hyped for this video, and it didn’t disappoint! I’ve been really fixated on urban exploration footage from Funland in Tewksbury, MA recently. There’s not much to see in terms of animatronics, mostly abandoned structures, but the one dog in the outhouse makes my skin crawl in the best way. I haven’t found any footage of him in operation. There’s something so eerie and tragic about having just enough of something to know the rest of it is lost media.
How you never seen Never-ending Story?
Jenny!! West Edmonton mall still has an indoor amusement park (it’s kind of gross but a lot of the old/weird theming is still there) and the French quarter is still intact (but kind of dead). The animatronic dragon was SO cool and breathed fire so intensely you could feel it when standing underneath. when I was a kid they had dolphins in the water area, which in hindsight was crazy. It’s such a weird place bc it caters to super cold winters where you might want to get out but realistically need to be indoors
Video is so fun! But I’m not sure if anyone is having the same problem I had. I watched on my TV and I had to completely redo my settings to be able to see: The straight video was too bright and too saturated. Might be worth looking into. Content is amazing tho!
Bugaboo creek!! I grew up going there but our local one closed a decade ago probably. I loved it! Pretty much where ever you sat you could see at least one animatronic. The moose was def the best. they also had a large hand puppet of the moose and if it wa your birthday they would bring it around and you would ' Kiss the Moose!' Kinda icky in retrospect cause idk how often it was cleaned... Fun fact though our Bugaboo was located right next to the Chuck-e-cheese so i used to think they were owned y the same people lol.
KINGS DOMINIONNNNN my home park! "Smurf Mountain" was a VERY SLOW dark ride through a huge mountain, where you saw various scenes of Smurfs doing Smurf things - running away from Gargamel, baking, getting blown up by Jokey Smurf's exploding presents, skiing, etc ... there was actualyl quite a lot in there. It was actually a retheme of a prior ride called "The Land of Dooz" which i baaaarely remember (i'm old). There were two other attractions in the mountain as well - Haunted River (scary indoor boat ride with a single drop at the end), and Time Shaft (a Rotor hidden deep within the mountain, the queue was a LONG claustrophobic rocky tunnel. Those and Smurf Mountain were all removed when they converted the mountain into Volcano: The Blast Coaster in the mid 90s. Volcano was an inverted launched coaster that shot out the top of the mountain -- today, that coaster and the entire mountain are gone. Kings Dominion was built by Taft, which then sold to Paramount in the 90s, which then sold to Cedar Fair in the 2000's. I'm glad it's been able to retain a fair amount of its original unique flair (they brought back the singing mushrooms! You should look them up if you havent seen them!)
As a fellow introvert who had nothing else planned this Halloween, I've gotta say you making sure to get this up in time was one of the most wholesome things I've seen in a while. Also major props for the Jacobus background! For me the worst "AA in a state it shouldn't be seen in" video has got to be footage of the I-Rex when Jurassic World is broken down. It's still going through its usual animations, but with how close that thing gets to the boats the idea of just being STUCK there while it repeats its cycle over and over is the stuff of nightmares. Genuinely will pray we don't get stuck in that room every time I ride.
Not to mention the "submechaniphobia" factor of how complex of a figure it is vs. the sheer amount of water in the room.
"I need to get people horny but I only have several old lamps and some plywood!!"
*horrified noises* Travis Trout The Christmas Singing Fish, I didn't see you there sir! *disgusted sounds*
I am in awe of the dedication it took to get this out by Halloween when you were so sick, and I am both disappointed and so happy that the last video didn't show the terrifying King Kong. I love and fear him in equal measure, and I am absolutely certain if I'd ever ridden that ride myself I'd have had nightmares for the rest of my life. But it would have been worth it. Now I want a video about animatronic restaurants. Share your hot takes!
I was honestly really scared to watch this but you are way more scared than I am so I feel better lol
I’m so enthralled by this video , but it sucks that Jenny put herself through 4 hours (and 1 minute) of suffering, plus however long it took to edit. Jenny. Please get some rest and hope you feel better soon.
Jenny ily I’ve been voting for this for a million years 😂❤️
I wish somebody would talk about me the way Jenny talks about the Gonzo animatronic
Oof I LOVE fat gengar in the upper right corner. So delightfully round and vintage looking
At the beginning of the video, before she moves her hair to reveal the true message, it looks like she's wearing a shirt that just says "ME" and that'd be such a powerful move, honestly.
Bunyip must've felt so much better after that bath
My youngest sister is fascinated by old animatronics and the like (she's actually visited one of the few remaining places with a Rock-afire Explosion show), so I'll have to share this one with her!
1:52:18 for good Jenny affirmations
It’s a shame you never got to go to Mirapolis. You definitely have to book that trip to Futuroscope. I need to hear about the French Star Wars hotel from the world authority on Star Wars hotels.
I have a feeling that Jenny would be so fun to go to a scare maze with. :)
I rode on that Jaws ride in Japan that you mentioned! I was just at Universal Osaka last summer with some friends. We mostly spent time doing the Harry Potter and Nintendo world stuff, but we did happen to ride the jaws ride too. It was cool! There were some fun special effects, like big splashes in the water when the tour guide tries shooting the shark with a rifle. I had no clue the ride is unique to Japan, I feel special now.
Jaws is a must-ride for me whenever I go to USJ! It's probably my favorite thing there.
People shoving their hands right in the animatronic's mouth, has five nights at Freddie's taught you nothing?????
Jenny, I lived in Edmonton from 1989 to 1994 during my university years and I went to West Edmonton mall so often. I forgot about the cool things there until you listed them and I was like oh I remember the Bourbon Street, the ship with submarine, the largest indoor water park (at the time). You’re right, the mall is old and run down now. The roller coaster park was called Fantasyland but was rumoured to have been sued by DISNEY and had to change their name to Galaxyland. Years later we took our kids to stay in a themed train room. Haha. Not worth it.
The hotel is so expensive and terrible now! Also the water park is...cool but they obviously only spend money on the new stuff and not repairing/removing the old structure.
Great Halloween treat! This reminds me , in the 80's my mom worked at Disneyland and they had an open house event where employees could bring guests after the park was closed. The rides weren't running but you could go on tours led by engineers and imagineers. We got to walk through the backstage areas of Pirates and the Haunted Mansion and see the animatronics without their costumes on. it was really cool and made a big impression on my sister and I.
One of my favorite genres of Jenny videos 🙌
Hope you feel better Jenny!! I loved this video AND was not prepared for all the manhandling of the animatronics lol
The "Family Fun Center & Bullwinkle's Restaurant" in Tukwila, WA (just south of Seattle) still had their animatronics as of March this year. Presumably they still do. Not a full band or anything—just the Rocky and Bullwinkle characters we see in the video—but they had 'em!
Jenny's reactions were priceless lol 😆 and I can't believe she made this whole ramble while sick! We don't deserve her 😞 Oh man that scuba video reminded me of when I was a kid and I fell into the big fountain at my local mall. The water was all green and nasty and I'm sure it was just my imagination, but I swore I saw a shark in there! Hmmm it's abandoned now but I'd like to sneak in there and do some exploring!
You should definitely watch Neverending Story! It's so good and earnest and has so many good animimatronics
IMO, it's one of those movies that 80s kids tell you are great, but it isn't as fun to watch as an adult if you don't have nostalgia for it, like Labyrinth.
As someone who read a lot of goosebumps as a kid, I love your Ghost Camp background
Hope you feel better soon <3
Thank you Jenny for the Halloween treat!!!~~ 🎃🎃🎃
What a treat! That last one is the scariest ride that has ever existed. It should be studied. Why and how is it so casually the most horrific thing I've ever seen? I love it.
I will admit that while this video was entertaining, I DID end it thinking most of these weren't all that scary. Like, when you looked at the video of the guy exploring around the dragon in Las Vegas, that made me viscerally uncomfortable in ways that nothing in this video QUITE reached. I think there was a lot less water in this video, while that one had mold as an overall "vibe".
a blessed hallerween treat
I may be wrong but at 34:17 there seems to be a Sucklet plush (the white pentagon/star thing) which is a product made by Itemlabel which was founded within the last few years
This literally came out as I was looking for something Hallowe'eny to watch as my butternut squash soup cooled. Following the previous spooky video coming out while I was in a remote mountain cottage I think Jenny may be some kind of video sorcerer, and suggest we do nothing to provoke her.
I first proposed this topic two years ago after the ramble where you watched a guy looking at the dragon animatronic in Vegas. It almost won the poll two or three times, and I'm so happy it finally won. It was worth the wait! Thanks for getting it to us today, Jenny. Sorry you had to watch spooky things while being so sick! Also, this is the 4th of the last 6 Halloween rambles that my topics have won, thanks for supporting my spooky topics everyone!!
Love the makeup look! Super cute! 💖
i got sick today and couldn't do any halloween things so this is perfect timing!
Jenny NEEDS to go to Stew Leonards I have so many beautiful photos of the animatronics there
Is there a hall of fame for bad French accents? If so someone should let them know about this video.
i think i used to watch that exploring with josh guy. whenever he’d find graffiti of pentagrams he’d talk about satanic rituals but the way he pronounced it sounded like saint nick rituals
Harrowing! I loved it! Jenny getting antsy made me more antsy!
I'm curious as to what about Bugs Bunny, visually, is unpleasant to you.
That Neverending Story character is the Rockbiter, Pyornkrachzark
And the snails are not just snails, but RACING SNAILS 🐌 haha
My old Reno makerspace got the shark animatronic from a B-movie called Shark Lake. They had Lake Shark on a giant elevated platform in the kitchen but then somebody took Lake Shark to Burning Man and it really messed him up.
Bugaboo Creek!!! Went there quite a bit as a kid. Two fun facts 1) In the lobby there was a massive animatronic pine tree with softball-sized eyes and a big unnerving mouth essentially glued to the tips of the branches - IIRC the eyes would blink big heavy lids and some component of the mouth would move as the tree had dialogue welcoming you to Bugaboo creek, etc. Very uncanny. 2) I was at least 10 before I realized that Bugaboo Creek and Outback Steakhouse were not the same chain; the vibe was similar enough that I just thought all Outback Steakhouses were lamer versions of Bugaboo Creek with no animatronics! One more bonus animatronic thing to investigate: A town over from BC was a furniture store that had a mardi-gras themed hourly animatronics (I'm stretching the term here) show in the main lobby; mannequin Elvis and the Village People and Diana Ross would slide out of cuckoo-clock-esque panels in the wall and jerk around while "When the Saints" blasted through the speakers. I highly recommend looking at some of the fever dream artwork and set pieces that came from the show. I had my birthday party there more than once growing up as there was an attached IMAX theater and restaurant with big requisitioned carousel horses mounted on the dividers between tables Thanks for a great video as always!!
i always forget that some people aren’t from new england when i see someone else from new england explaining jordan’s furniture like it’s unusual and i’m like yes of course what else would there be at a furniture store. my local one had/has a giant Wally the Green Monster animatronic and jellybean sculptures
I could not be more excited! Thanks for delivering every month!
the Bullwinkle’s in Upland, California actually used to be a “Boomers” mini golf! the fairytale theme is a holdover from that original course!
if it makes you feel any better, i was also really scared of food when i was younger. one example is that i would get 'burgers' that were just bun + cheese + ketchup
I've been a huge fan of Rockafire Explosion for years and I geeked out when they showed up in this vid ^_^
ALSO i love the spooky Goosebumps background
Sorry to hear you are getting over a cold... I had a the wind (and other stuff) knocked out of me a few weeks ago...worst stomach flu in several years
SPYRO?
the one at 32:00 is using sound effects and music from the first FNAF game so yeah i think your theory is right lol
The Crypt Keeper himself would have admired those opening puns! I’m excited about this Halloween video! Your Buzzy video got me into this whole topic.
I'm not super afraid of animatronics but I would absolutely draw the line at touching them, especially if I was alone
Dude yes!! I started to laugh at the idea but then I imagined being alone with an animatronic 👀💀
Thank you Jenny, I'm gonna go grab some Shakey's pizza and come back and enjoy this. Did you ever get a new candy cauldron?
I am so excited! What an awesome Halloween surprise! Thanks so much Jenny!!!
I'm so excited but if there is a damn shark on this list I CANNOT handle it 😭😭😭 why they so scary 💔
oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy
Honestly my favourite aspect of animatronic videos is just seeing all the awesome ways the Rockafire Explosion skeletons have been reused. They're truly the gift that keeps on giving
The spirit of the puns from the Friendship is Witchcraft Halloween Theme title is alive and well. Dead and well. Dead and ghostly. 👻
Goosebumps background, hellll yeah!
I must have a good instinct because I rewatched the Buzzy video this week!
Omg I now have Halloween plans 😌
Happy Halloween and many thanks, Jenny!
My neighbors are gonna hear me screaming for two hours straight at this scary video! I’ve been working on my breath control for just such an occasion!
YES!! I was just looking for something to do before the Halloween festivities started thank you Jenny :D
i’ve been waiting for this all month this means everything to me
same here
"defrightful upblood" caused me psychic damage (positive)
Wow, I checked my email at the right time. Happy Halloweeeeeen everyone!
2 hours to kill until its night hell yeah
Yesss! Thank you so much for uploading right in time! Happy halloween 👻
Right on time for my commute home !!!!
The best Halloween surprise
Yay!! Happy Halloween, Jenny!
YESSS
Happy Halloween
YAY
YEAHHHH
thank you queen
🦾huzzah!🤓
Oh hell yeah let’s go happy halloween
My halloween night is saved!
I just unsubbed today from my favorite horror comic on Patreon because the author has been recycling "exclusive" content since MAY and he did it again, on Halloween of all days!! It would've been fine if Jenny was a day late but it really saved me from the disappointment of the other creator ❤️
This is what dreams are made of
Hey now, hey now
