Just ran across your reactions -- probably because you're now watching my Doctor's era of the show! I love your openness to experiencing what the episode has to offer. It is such a different approach to the show. I love the Moffat puzzle-boxes, but this era takes a very different approach that connects with me even more. I don't know how many times I've watched this episode. But the thing that hits stronger every time is how the Doctor deals with Tim Shaw. When they meet on the roof and she starts calling him Tim Shaw, Graham protests, telling her "Don't wind him up!" But the Doctor keeps right on winding him up. And I think that's because she wants him to be sure to do a total transference from the data coils so that the DNA bombs get transferred to him, too. The look on the Doctor's face as she watches Tim Shaw suck up all the data and the bombs from the coils! So many emotions! And then she meets him on the crane. She winds him up again and makes sure that she double checks that a DNA bomb was not put in Karl. Then she makes sure the choice Tim Shaw has before him is not just clear, but stark. When she says to him, as he writhes and oozes from the DNA bombs detonating, "You had a choice. You did this to yourself." That's true, but she made sure that the consequences of him making the wrong choice were going to be severe. 13 is so quirky and playful and fun -- she feels all the deaths in this episode so keenly -- and yet, she has as much steel in her as any of the Doctors. I love the cinematography! Simply gorgeous. And on the visuals, I love the visual echo or reference to the iconic Romantic painting "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" when the camera pulls further and further away and we see the Doctor watching Ryan as he falls off his bike again and again in his grief.
Great breakdown! Thanks for detailing it in such a clear way.
I have a great love for this era (as I do all of them) but I was devastated at Murray Gold leaving. However that piece that plays when she is creating her sonic (great scene) ended up being one of my favourites from Segun Akinola (the new composer for this era). Loved this reaction, really appreciate how you approach every new doctor with the same enthusiasm and optimism as the last. And personally I can’t wait to rewatch Jodie’s era, I am incredibly fond of her version of the doctor.
Welp, that happened.
Bradley best known for being the host on the Chase UK, well known for having fits of laugher at some of the questions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxsBDD854yQ
While i found Whittaker's tenure as hit or miss, Graham is arguably my favorite companion by far and carries.
I love Jodie Whittaker's Doctor, she's so good. Probably my second favorite Doctor in the 2005+ era.

I am so glad to hear that this is your favorite era! I love that Whovians are so varied that any era could be someone's favorite
And the new Era begins! I have thoughts on some stuff about it, but for now I'll say this is a solid intro episode, really interesting way to intro 13's run.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts as we make our way through.
