Nah they have absolutely brought up topics and if Joe isn’t interested or doesn’t like it he steps on it. He is doing it less, but he still does it. So making it about lacking initiative is weird. Because if there’s a topic being brought up that you stepped on, then the initiative was there. And that affects the tone of things. It’s simple psychology. Just because you got better at not stepping on things, you still had a pattern and that mentally effects the cast. So if they want to bring up something, but they’re worried you’re going to step on it, even unconsciously, that’s going to effects what they bring up. And his delivery sucks. It’s the same way he does when he thinks “it’s not a fun topic” he finds the clunkiest most obnoxious way of saying it because he’s all annoyed and it makes for a frustrating listening experience because he doesn’t know a better way to produce without sounding like an asshole sometimes. But if he can find a better way of doing it then the show will improve in that area and the cast will respond the way he wants them to.
