Very important post regarding prices in 2027 - Please read this!

Okay, this might be the most important post in the last 5 years, I might exaggerate a little bit, but it’s how I feel, so here goes the main point of this post:

I will have to increase the prices of the monthly subscription in the coming year of 2027, unless there is enough feedback telling me to not do this change.

Before you raise your pitchforks and torches to complain about this (because everyone hates having prices increase, I can promise you that I’m the one that hates having to do this most of all.) Let me explain why I might have to do this change, so you can understand the reason.

Five years ago, when I started doing this, I was so green and new I didn’t even know how to do anything in Koikatsu. You can see it for yourself in my first stories, it’s all bland and simple, not that it’s a bad thing at all, it’s just how things were back in the day. Back then, I also made the prices of my subscriptions based on the current conversion rate with the currency I use (The euro “€”), on Fanbox was 600¥ for 5€, 1250¥ for 10€, the other two plans were more symbolic than anything else. 

As time passed, my skills kept growing and improving. I could make very interesting stories like MTF, design complex characters like Noriko’s final form (which took me like 2 or 3 days to design her), or make origin stories like Velzea’s. In short, the quality of the stories were increasing year by year, but the “price” of the stories were decreasing. What do I mean by that? The current world situation sucks, and when it sucks the economy becomes bad, meaning that the prices increase and livelihood is more expensive. And yet, I kept making my stories without stopping, that is until this year and the end of the last year, when I was starting to feel fatigued and burnt out. Back then, I didn’t really know what caused it. I was enjoying making stories, but the more I did, the less I wanted to work. Every month, I ended up feeling like my work wasn’t good enough because I was earning less income than when I started working. And then it struck me, after thinking about it for days, I realized that the quality of my stories have been increasing but I received less back in return. 

This brings me back to the main point of this post. After finally discovering the reason of why I keep feeling down and not wanting to work, I have reached the conclusion that if I feel my work is being appreciated and rewarded as it should be, instead of being rewarded the same as 5 years ago, I will once again feel like I can go further and improve even more, because my work’s value will increase and I’ll feel better about it. 

I really hope this doesn’t sound like my greed talking, it’s not that, I’ve been working really hard to make stories for everyone to enjoy, and I even post them for free! I’ve never thought of having to increase the prices before, but it has sadly come to this, and as I have said before, I hate having reached this conclusion the most, but it’s what I need to do. I should also mention that making stories is my one and only job, my only source of income.

Lastly, which I should’ve mentioned before, the price changes will be nothing big. In Fanbox, the prices will be balanced to match the previous prices so I can get the same revenue as I did back when I started.

Fully Corrupted Plan - 1,250 JPY = 10€

Leena/Cybal Tier - 2,200 JPY = 20€

Currently: 

Night Star Light Plan - 600 JPY = 3.35€

Fully Corrupted Plan - 1,250 JPY = 7€

Updated price:

Night Star Light Plan - 900 JPY = 5€

Fully Corrupted Plan - 1,800 JPY = 10€

(Updated price I’d like, unless it sounds too greedy):

Night Star Light Plan - 1050 JPY = 6€

Fully Corrupted Plan - 2100 JPY = 12€

The same will be for the people in Patreon, but the change in price won’t be as noticeable as in Fanbox, since the currency there is automatically adapted to my currency (It basically did what I’m doing in Fanbox.) But the prices will also increase a little bit, for the same reason as before.

I won’t make this change now, or tomorrow, or next month, I am planning to make this change after the charity event in December, when 2027 arrives, so I’ve shared this warning/information three months before it happens. I hope it’s enough time for everyone to read and acknowledge this. 

Now, I said in the first point that “unless there is enough feedback telling me to not do this change.”, that means I’ll make a google forms, with a simple question to know if you, the fan, the engine and fuel of my motivation, are okay with this change, or if you understand that this change is important. If enough people decide that this is something I shouldn’t do, in addition to your “No” in the form, I’d love to know the reason why, all feedback is welcome. The form will be open until the 31st of December, on the morning of this day I will close the form, you will be able to modify your answer whenever you’d like from now until the form closes, in case you change your mind.
