The eighth model in the April release
Hello friends!
We did it - Smaug from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is finished!
Huge thanks to Ascoetta for all the work she put into this model. A lot of time went into the scales and all the small details, and during the process we also had to change the overall composition several times
I will say right away that we cheated a little in one place. When it came time to place the treasure, we had already spent a huge amount of energy, and arranging hundreds of tiny coins would have taken an enormous amount of time. On top of that, in the printed version they could have turned into visual noise, so we made the objects at the bottom a little larger
As for cutting and printing - we managed to split the wings into several parts, and they fit together quite well. Still, during assembly we did need a hair dryer and a little heat to help with the joints. There are also marked claws on the back side of the wings, which should help you avoid confusion during assembly
By my calculations, the scale is approximately 1:32. There is no merged version for this model
Maybe we should make Bilbo as a separate model... hmm...

Wonderful work... but aren't the coins and Bilbo out of scale? They're too big.
I mentioned this in the text =)
