Progress Report

So the progress report is both good and bad news.

The good news is that I should be able to release both He Maid Her Fall and The Edge Of – Definitive Edition this month. I know it's usually the case so calling it a good news is maybe a bit of a stretch, but this ties into the bad news.

Let's start with He Maid Her Fall first.

He Maid Her Fall

The bad news is that I'm at a point in the story where I can't really keep up. Right now, if the update is the 20k words it's supposed to be, I will have used all the illustrations and animations at my disposal. Which means I will probably not have enough material to release another update next month if I do that.

My only option is to release a smaller update (around 15k words) this month so I can have a good update for June as well, and hopefully keep up.

The reason we're at this point is mainly that I now only have one artist per game, and a single animator for both. I decided to only use my new animator from now on because he's better and I want to have the best product that I can. And He Maid Her Fall is at a point in the story where there's… a lot of action. So yeah. It's hard to keep up. It doesn't help that I also had my artist work on the NTS project a bit (sprites and a few CGs). I will have to stop until we're more comfortable.

Knowing this, I will probably release the next update for He Maid Her Fall around the 16th of May.

The Edge Of

This project has even more issues. On top of going very fast—Beth perspective goes faster than any other perspective in my games—it also has voice acting. Good thing, though, the voice actress will be able to deliver the voice lines for the 25th (hopefully), and I have a backlog of illustrations, compared to He Maid Her Fall. My only issue it the animations. I have a few scenes animated, but not all.

So while this update will be 20k words, I can't promise that the next one will be as well.

Since I will only have the voice lines on the 25th, the next update of The Edge Of should be more toward the end of the month, on the 28th?

Written Projects

As you know (I think?), I'm writing the fantasy story and the NTS on the side. Right now, I'm still working on the sprite for the fantasy. I will probably have to shift to CGs soon since things are moving so fast. But yeah, a very slow pace. There's a reason for it. Can't really talk about it though.

The NTS projects, I had started working on the CGs. I even have the cover image (if I don't change it). But now I have to stop. I will focus on He Maid Her Fall until I feel comfortable.

Conclusion

I apologize. I hope this won't be the case. I'm the kind of old cat who wants to give a fair product for what people pay for. But it seems like I might either need to take another break to keep up with the CGs, or release smaller updates. For this month, it's fine, but it's a conversation we might need to have next month.
