Part of me wonders if deep sea gigantism is a specific type of insular gigantism. The rest of me is too busy being either horrified or intrigued by all the deep sea weirdos we’ve discovered.

I’d lean towards it being a form of insular gigantism, very few creatures are able to survive in those conditions so it’d make sense that with less competition, those that do figure it out end up becoming massive
