to nun or not to nun that is the question

I am working on an idea for release in January and it's got the vibes of "the holdovers" meets religious repression.

So the premise is that there's an opening in this girls only boarding school for a new teacher and there's some miscommunication and a non nun/priest is hired. Obviously this is a huge problem, but oops it can't be resolved right away because it happens to be that weird period before the start of the new semester and the students are out anyway so the listener and speaker character get close and find they have more in common then they thought.

My question for you is what is who is who?

Is the listener character the new teacher and the speaker character the nun or is the listener character the nun/priest and the speaker character the new teacher.
