I’m glad you started to enjoy atmosphere half way through I was like oh no she hates it 🥲but I get what you mean. I just took the science as is because I am definitely not a woman in STEM. I felt like it was a jumbled up slow burn because of the way the chapters are set out. I will definitely add katabasis to my tbr!
I did end up liking it (and crying at the end I put some thoughts here! https://www.patreon.com/posts/158445839
My whole field is mostly male dominated and it sucks because I feel like they don’t give women as many of the tougher jobs or opportunities due to the fact that they’re women, but I’ve seen a couple girls in classes so that’s always nice to see, however, none are in my year and my professor is an ass lol he’s the only professor for that field and he’s so annoying😭
I always felt very relegated to a note taking position when working on group projects in university but after graduation I have found that to be less of a problem and though I don't work with many women still I feel like a respected player in my team with my leadership ❤️ I hope when you get out to the workforce you get a similar experience
Dungarees I hate to be the bearer of bad news…you might have to cut back your coffee consumption. 😬😂
You don't know how big my cups are 😇
You are doing such a good job with your running!! And a full hour on the stair master? That's insane! Well done, Dungarees! 😍🔥👏👏👏👏 Also, when it comes to resonating with audios, and this is just for me, but I love to really fall into the roleplay. If you make an audio where I play the role of the priest or coworker or roommate, thats what I am!😅 Ty for this week's audios and I hope you have a nice weekend. I love you, Dungarees! 🐧🌹
I wanted to see if i could so i did :D it felt pretty rewarding to be able to do it <3
Female in trades also sucks. I'm at a university and the whole shop area is full of men, I'm a foreman too so every time I deal with a new contractor I have to deal with them talking down to me 😑
Oh god yes, you have so much of my respect I can imagine how some of those days go <3
I really like these casual Fridays. They fall right at the beginning of my work day so it's perfect Finished Bury Our Bones earlier this year and loved it
I so think I will love it to! I think I might finish it tonight <3
Casual Fridayyyy hype hype hype! 🧡 I think it’s Vanessa and Joan? Yeah, I did feel a bit of friction with the whole women-in-STEM concept too. I really agree with your point about how you end up drawing attention, wanted or not, in STEM field spaces. I’ve felt that all the way back from uni to now. Huh, they do highlight that pressure of brilliance - looking back, I wonder how much of that expectation came from outside, and how much I had already internalized it as I started in this degree field. Looking forward to seeing your final take once you finish it. LEMME put Katabasis at the TOP of my list. Love women in STEM, thank youuu 🧡 Really happy to hear you’re not losing sight of creating what you love 🧡 Also I am hyping your running goal once again! 🔥 I actually took Solaris (jury’s still out on whether I like the book or not… 🤔) to read on the gym bike for cardio. The first try was rough — had to reread pages because I kept losing focus xdd. But the second try today went sooo much better. Definitely adding this to the routine now. Hoping you have a lovely recovery and weekend filled with cozy reading, 🤞 gym time and no sick time 🧡
yes bike and book is such a good combo! Yes it's the Joan as first name for one and then Vanessa's last name is Ford which is very hard for me to separate from Joan with the second letter being the same and the height and length of the words also being very similar. It's just hard for me to determine them at a glace and I get confused and kinda stumble to remember who is who. I'm excited to finish it too and get more into the romance side :D I remember reading some reviews of a romance I loved last year (the favorites) saying that it was very "taylor jenkins reid" coded so I am excited to get more into that side of the book! Katabasis was one of my favorite reads last year! I've had my oatmeal, 3 cups of coffee, and I feel bounced enough back to record <3
