[Casual Friday] It's been 8 years [Almond Bars] [Vertical Process] [Upcoming Audios] [Reddit Cake Day] yesterday [Creativity] failures and successes [STEM]

I made this recipe but instead of the frangipane filling I used almond paste and I subbed the vegan butter for vegetable oil, used two cups of flour instead of 1.25 cups flour and 1.25 cups almond flour, and left out the milk.

Sooo its not this same but it's what I did. It's VERY crumbly but I didn't have enough vegan butter so it is what it is.

Cheers to 8 more 8 more years 🥰

Your almond treats sound AMAZING! Oooh put some like cherry jam/compote on it’ll be like a cherry Bakewell (if you’re into that!) Happy cake day lovely!! Hopefully there are many more to come 🎉🎉 I’d like to think I’m a creative person and wrote fanfic for a time, but I definitely struggled with pace and burn out. I wanted to give as much as I could creatively but I felt like it would take too long. But hearing how you developed your own work around was really interesting. Maybe I’ll get back into it one day, who knows 😅 I mean I would stick around for a dungarees Ted talk any day 😊 Congrats again! 🥰

Craves tiramisu for weeks but somehow does everything except actually making it herself lol I give a lot of credit to people who do write in general because I’ve always struggled with the mindset of who the fuck even cares what I’m writing about and then I fall into a rabbit hole of is there any original thoughts anymore..and well it gets deep but again who the hell cares lol

Edit: Oh my god, this came out way longer than i thought😭😭😭 Dungarees, you peaked my interest with so many things you said. I could have such a long conversation but I'll try and keep it short. First off your cats meows are adorable! And the way you talk about that shortbread makes me wish I had some right now 😅 And this week WAS big for audios! I loved them all! A big hugging thank you for them! 🫂💗 And I knew you did improv audios and, as far as I know, you do everything on your own, and I think thats super impressive cause all your work, audios, videos, pictures, patreon, it all feels so professional. Also about all the years (happy 8th anniversary btw!) I first started following you I think during the covid lockdown? 🤔 Definitely around there, and since then ive been commenting and liking almost everything you post 😅 cause I figure if im gonna show my support im gonna whole ass my support for my dear Dungarees 🤗💗 And your bit at the end reminds me of a friend who streams on twitch, she says she wants to do it until shes an old lady and im like hell yeah, and I'll be there as an old man! 😂 And as for what you said about creativity, I definitely struggled with it too earlier in my life, but as you may remember ive been really into audiobooks and all those amazing books actually motivated me to (embarrassingly amidt) write some of my own fantasy fanfic, in a sort of creative writing exercise, cause ive always loved to write, in high school, getting my BA in Hsitory at NIU writing dozens of essays and I always loved it. But theres always something coming up in life, ive been so busy in the past few weeks and its taking me away from writing time. But ive also learned, later in life than I care to admit, I am a hands on learner, and I like to make things, grow things, build things. Ive always been a gaming nerd and a sports meathead, I can spend 12 hours a day watching football games or playing on my pc 🤣 But also, im in the middle of building a football target practice board, Im approaching 30 and I dont know how to throw a ball, but I figured, "why the hell not?" 😂 What i mean by all this is, its good to have the confidence to be creative! And im so happy for you finding your creativity And ill be here supporting you as long as you want to do this and even later with whatever you do. 🥰 I love you Dungarees! 🐧🤗💗🌹🌹🌹🌹

Congratulations on how far you’ve come! I can feel— through “the screen”—your fire, joy in what you do, and that inquiring mind that just refuses to sit still and desires for growth. I’m delighted to be part of your journey. Sending big hugs and wishing you many more exciting years ahead—with the balance of rest you definitely deserve 🧡 P.S. As a fellow woman in STEM… yeah, I felt that 😅 (the intensity of work and studies was no joke sometimes) That turned into such a lovely little motivational speech— not gonna lie, felt touched. Huge praise for not giving up on creative fulfillment… and for dragging the rest of us along for the ride in the best way ✨
