I can't trigger the meet in southern quarter event, when I go and talk to Michael I only get the option to leave then it warps me to a random location and freezes the game

Hm, may happen with very old or cheated saves. Sorry, I have no better idea than starting from scratch. You could provide your save on Discord too.

Yeah! I like the show! But I feel bad for Matthew he is kind of a using toy till now in the story
