No, I think the ghost was already haunting them. And they were hoping that burying her would make her Stop haunting them. This clearly did not happen.

Well few hours after main story The guard ghost are now haunted The group since two of them kill her and Gilda kinda in directly cause her death. So now they are tried to get ride of haunted guard.
