📢 Technical Update: How V2 Outfits, Body Meshes, and Mod Compatibility Work
Hi everyone! 💕
I’m making this post today to clear up a common technical question regarding how my V2 outfit versions work, how Sim anatomy interacts with clothing, and how 3D meshes behave with third-party mods (like Wicked Whims).
If you’ve ever wondered why an outfit doesn’t show nipple definition or why custom body features don't automatically transfer to clothing, here is a detailed breakdown of how 3D modeling for the game works:
1. Base Mesh vs. Custom Body Modifications My clothing items are built using the game's default base mesh, which is naturally smooth across the chest:
Clothing items are not just painted skin layers; they are completely independent 3D meshes.
Any custom body presets or modified body meshes from other creators will never automatically apply to the clothing.
For nipple details to show over an outfit, I would have to manually edit the 3D mesh, redo all the weight rigging, and package it as a completely separate item in-game.
2. How Mods Like Wicked Whims (WW) Interact with Clothing While Wicked Whims allows you to customize nipples and body details, this only applies when your Sim is completely unclothed.
It cannot alter nipples on clothed outfits (including V2 versions): Internally, the clothing piece is a separate mesh with its own weight painting and texturing process.
System limitations: It is programmatically impossible for the mod to force or dynamically replace those anatomical details onto clothing. This is especially true because every creator uses different body models, skin details, and proportions that differ from the base game mesh.
✨✨ In Summary
The V2 versions are designed to maintain native stability within the game engine, preventing graphical glitches (clipping) or mesh warping. If the chest area appears smooth on an outfit, it isn't a texture error, but rather the standard technical process required for 3D garment creation.
I hope this explanation gives you a clearer look into the technical work behind every piece! Thank you all so much for being here and continuously supporting my work. If you have any further questions, feel free to drop them in the comments! ✨
