Today Shy is here to talk about the Terminus Decree and other Warhammer blunders. The Terminus Decree is an ancient scripture or instruction written on a simple piece of parchment and locked away within the Chamber of Purity on Titan, making it a sacred relic to the Grey Knights Chapter. Recently it has been revealed to be really dumb. But it wasn't first GW mistake: How about Wraithbone retcon? Custodes retcon? Botched Squat retcon? Primaris controversy? The list never ends.

I hadn’t heard about the Terminus Decree until this controversy, so this story has been 😂. Besides that, it’s also nice to hear about how the Custodes controversy started. I remember when a bunch of Youtubers were complaining about it, but not what the source was.

I think this was one of those things where whatever they ended up saying it was, would end up being less interesting than the idea of what it could be.
as someone, who generally could care less about retcons, what the terminus decree is, just seems really dumb.
Life, if big E leaves the throne by being healed, why the fuck would they not sit back down of their own volition.

"but not everything is true" - got to finish the quote. it's like historical analysis. the sources all exist and claim what they claim, but often the details are vague or contradictory, or outright incorrect because they're all from limited perspectives, be they first, second, or third hand accounts. all of 40K's lore materials are presented as in universe documents, often reports from some administrator official, or an inquisitor, or the like.
Here me out, this revolution makes sense in existing lore. If Big E leaves the throne everyone will lose their minds, so a complex plan will fail, instead just say Getter Done and boom we can have a thousand crusades all competing to "save a dying husk". It will all feed the Dark King, Lord of Destruction without Reason or Aim! It will be beautiful...and it will leave the Galaxy Green!!!
