Upscending...
Hello little goblins!
One more week left in October guys! Can I do it? I just keep telling myself "just need to get to November 1st and everything will be ok" haha Its not just the scary movies but just October is insane! This week I was in charge of a big neighborhood fall festival for over 200 people. It was rainy and I wanted to cry but it cleared up 30 minutes before and we had to do all the set up VERY quickly and I was running around like a demon possessed but I think it turned out pretty cute in the end. I'm so glad its over though!
This week we have the two runner ups from our FINAL FOUR from the Scary Movie Bracket-The Devil's Advocate and The Descent which looks terrifying and I decided I did need some Abbott and Costello in my Halloween line up!
TRIVIA NIGHT SPOOKY EDITION IS THIS TUESDAY OCTOBER 27th! Prizes to be won, FUN to be had! I can't wait! BYOP
Don't forget to enter Pick a Flick for this month! (sidenote-I will be watching September's Winner "Desk Set" early November. Also, keep submitting and voting on the leaderboard! Remember if you are having trouble with the website let us know-it should be a simple 2-3 clicks!
Thanks for everything Kernel POPS!

Best Dinosaur movie are jurassic world dominion the end of oak street jurassic rebirth hotel for dinosaur Cassie said never seen dinosaur before
Did you react to Devils Advocate?
Devil's advocate tonight?!?
"WHERE'S THE MOUSE!" Cassie so scared she cannot find the remote to pause the movie!!! Again, the descent reaction is now officially nominated for best jumpscare and horror reaction of 2026.. Make it in a poll!!
hahahahah i really enjoyed her "Descent" into madness reaction!!! I smell a poppy popcorn award for best jumpscare and horror reactions for 2026!!!! Now, Terrifier and Exorcist are up next on the "hardmode" horror list. mwahahha
Devils Advocate for the GASPS and Abbott and Costello for the LAUGHS. PS. Never ever watch the film Legend of 1900.
My suggestions although not all Holiday films, are movies I am not aware having been viewed by other reactors and believe would further promote Cassie and Pop Corn in Bed as the premier reactor on the internet.
Like- Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995).
This year Molly Bee has posted some horror movies that get few if any reactions. She posted "Silver Bullet" today.
I just discovered her in the last couple months. I love how knowledgeable and well-read she is. And I'm usually not a fan of gals who dye their hair unnatural colors, but I find her two-toned pink and black tresses oddly appealing. 🤔 I believe she's the first to tackle the original "Haunting" from '63. Perhaps she can also do "The Innocents" soon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovVi3Kt3PX0 THe REAL Ring movie... Japanese rules!!
I like 99% of the comments of the RIng reaction agreeing with me that she should have watched the Japanese version of it. But sadly, it's really your fault that YOU decided to see this after a friend told you Japan's version of ring was worse scarier. BIGGEST COP OUT L TAKE there, woman!
Trying to speedrun a ban?
Hey Cassie if you're out there I'm still looking for Night Shift rod Howard directorial debut and Gunga Din the granddaddy of all the Indiana Jones type films. With a young Carrie Grant. And I'm a big fan of... " The Lone Ranger" you may be too young to remember the Lone Ranger so do a little backstory work and dont the listen to the critics. It's a great western with a terrific climax Johnny Depp is great
New Movie Called the mosquito bowl ramayana mr Irrelevant pan's labyrinth fantastic and Amazing movie's never seen before
how about Contact? The original MASH movie
+1 for the original MASH movie. Did you upvote at Requests? She (and Carly) reacted to Contact. https://www.patreon.com/popcorninbed/posts/yt-edit-contact-96323696
RIP Chekov (Walter Koenig) | I'm happy I got to know him and like him better watching most STAR TREK movies along with you for the first time.
Has anyone ever purchased a full reaction in the shop, and if you have , do you get to watch it once or can you watch it as many times you want from the point of purchase forward? Thanks
I think you can download it. Or just access it whenever when you buy it. But I think you have to stay a member to do that. Not totally sure. Have heard other people say they had the reaction saved to computer.
What time is the trivia supposed to be tomorrow?
I searched back through the posts because I had the same question, and it seems that they almost all started 8 PM Eastern or there abouts
Cassie still mentions how stressful Halloween horror movies are for her even though various horror fans have already given her a solution that would spread the movies out through the year. Since she will watch 9 real horror movies ( I’m not counting Abbott & Costello) this Halloween, just watch at least 7 horror movies through the next year then 3 the last week of October. Spread the stress out so you have time to get over it.
I thought she would spread out horror this year, but alas that didn't happen. Maybe she secretly enjoys the October scaries more than she wants to let on. She keeps coming back for more, lol.
The Descent is made by Neil Marshall. I realised that he even made one of my favorites - Dog soldiers (from 2002) 😄
A film for next Halloween perhaps 😄
YES! YES! YES! THE DESCENT! I hope it's not the stupid U.S. version that wimps out. Proper version please. One of my all-time favourite horrors. Best watched in complete darkness... preferably with surround sound.
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein can be watched free at the Internet Archive (archive.org). Just sayin. Helps me because I watch everything on my desktop. Haven't owned a TV in 15 years.
Is there a time yet for trivia night?
Probably not this halloween, but i would love to see the "new" 28-year movies as a reaction if possible!
Well, 28 Weeks Later was promised in this years March Madness, so that might happen in a year or two. The Years movies might be after that. edit- I forgot she already watched Weeks, so maybe 28 Years Later next year?
Do you know why we celebrate Halloween? There is absolutely no proof that the ancient Druids or Celts celbrated it. Or it has anything to do with Samhain. No we celebrate Halloween because it's All Hallows Eve or All Saints Eve. The night before All Saints Day a Christian Holiday. It's holy day of obligation for some. It was most likely brought to the US by Scottish and Irish immigrants who celebrated the virgil All Hallows Day. Halloween customs started in the 19th century in the US then spread to other countries in 20th and 21st century. The Decent basically an all female cast it's original and scary. As for The Devil's Advocate, my gf said "I don't want that Satanic filth on my TV" If you want my opinion well I always turn to this song https://youtu.be/O4irXQhgMqg?is=X6bs-7mlroHJcRNh
"better to reign in hell than serve in heaven?"
In addition to Abbott and Costello, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken is another comedy you could watch.
Thank you for choosing to watch Devil's Advocate. ♥
"Vanity, defintely my fave sin!"
If you are planning ahead for Holiday Movies you may want to consider #1) Office Christmas Party - 2016 - Comedy - All star cast #2) The Homecoming , A Christmas Story - 1971 - All star cast #3) It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World - 1963 #4) Marty - 1955 - Academy Award for Best picture
Office Christmas Party would be fun. Underrated.
"One more week left in October guys!" Oh no! Time to return from my exile. /clears throat It is October 2026, and I hereby advocate for *that* version of The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996). [#022] Dedicated to Richard Maurer. And besides, it stars (ahem) Fairuza Balk, of "The Craft" fame!
Thought you were going to miss this month HH. I was wondering where you’ve been. But as we learned recently, no individual person’s request can be picked for a reaction. So I’m afraid you’ve been wasting your time my friend.
THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE has my all-time favorite cinematic Satan. Pacino just makes a meal of the scenery. He so over-the-top and deliciously wicked, it's glorious. A joy to watch. DESCENT is good. ABBOTT ABD COSTELLO is a lot of fun I wish you'd seen the classic 1931 DRACULA with Bela Lugosi and the original WOLFMAN with Lon Chaney Jr first, but at least you've seen the Boris Karloff FRANKENSTEIN. This one is totally Catchy safe BTW
Huge spoiler in that first sentence.
The Wire for next TV series. Gritty tone but the best-written show ever
Patrons don't have any say in TV shows. Cassie always picks what she has an interest in.
Hi Cassie, congrats on your neighbourhood fall festival. The photos show you put a lot of work into it, I’m glad it all worked out for you. I’m equally glad for you with nearly finishing October. I know it can be a rough month for you, so well done and hopefully your anxiety can get a little rest in November. I’m just starting to slow down now myself. Bad weather, as the U.K is currently being battered by storms and daylight saving kicking into tonight means shorter daylight and less work I can do. Not so great for the wallet, but great for more relaxing time with my wife and more opportunity to join in on the PiB community. I’m looking forward to Devils Advocate, but i haven’t seen the other two. I will just pitch again for a tender November movie. “Lorenzo’s Oil” 1992. True story and a movie, I think, would touch your heart. I was also wondering, do you think we could get a poll next month randomly drawn from Popcorn requests. It’s been a while. Anywho, I hope you get through this week ok. Tender November soon for you. You are the best ❤️
FYI Mark if interested, I'll be purchasing a reaction to "Horror of Dracula" on the channel Totally Whatever. Both ladies are wonderful reactors. A number of us want to see it and I'll ask it be made available via they're patron.
Oh yes The Decent is one of my all time favorites. But you HAVE to watch the Unrated/UK cut. It only adds a little but it makes a world of difference.
Haha, THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE is so bad. Pacino looks like he had a good time though. THE DESCENT is fantastic, looking forward to it.
I was watching Cassie & Karly reacting to grumpy old men yesterday. Then today this pops onto my feed. I hope you ladies like it https://youtube.com/shorts/DpDu_FzZsyI?is=lXhc29NWKQg4ZSB4
Just looked at the top 100 on the leaderboard. No idea how some of these movies got that high.
On the Requests list? They got that high because of Priority Points. But don’t worry, they don’t actually use those to pick movies.
“Call me dad”
Nice some November recommendations Sweet November with Carly Spider-Man Brand New Day F1
+ 1 for Spider-Man.
I LOVED that Abbot and Costello movie when I was like 8. Haven't seen it since though
Love the photos! Hope everyone is well!
I love the photos too Dave. Every time Cassie adds some photos, it’s like a little window into Cassie’s life. Great for the community.
One good Halloween film this week - The Descent. Devil’s Advocate is, at best horror adjacent. And AaCmF is neither funny or scary.
If by "adjacent" you mean not even close- like how Nebraska is adjacent to Portugal- I'll agree.
No Final Destination 2 !? This makes me a sad ghoul 😢
Not sure which one had the roller coaster sequence, but that would be a fun reaction. Given that she's a theme park fan. Lol
Cassie now that you've done Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein to give you more laughs and chills for next year you can pick Abbot and Costello Meet the Invisible Man or Meet the Mummy or Meet the Creature from the Black Lagoon or Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde or Meet the Killer! The last two have Boris Karloff who was missing from their Frankenstein movie.
I think A&C meet Frankenstein was their best, but A&C meet the Killer Boris Karloff was a good one, too.
Ooooh the descent will be a nerve shredder for Cassie
Haven’t seen Devil’s Advocate or The Descent, but I think Cassie will enjoy Abbott and Costello. I’m not clear on the order you’ll be watching these, though. Can you confirm who’s on first and what’s on second?
Yes, Samuel Hu is on first and Hector Watt is on second, Phil Iduno is on third. Kids in the Hall "Who's On First"- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFhvmCgs_L4
Might want to get the descent out of the way first. You know memory-wise first in, first out and all that 👍. Or maybe leave it for a day you don't need to function afterwards, remember GOT after Jon died and you had to attend some party for your little one. Love the devil's advocate. Can't wait
I'm happy to see you're gonna react to "Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein" it's such a classic, you'll love it! "The Descent", oh boy, I'm not gonna spoil anything, but let's just say you're gonna have a difficult time going to sleep for a while! Really wish you could watch "Van Helsing", you and Carly would have a lot of fun with that one, yes it's Carly safe, I promise lol! Take care, Happy Halloween, love and support, you and Carly are the best, and God bless y'all and the family🎃🥰😇🙏🤗😉✌🌹 PS: I'll be rewatching your reaction to my favorite horror movie on Halloween, "Sleepy Hollow" that is such a classic reaction🤣
Fall festival looks like fun. Hope you were able to have fun.
Wow. I can’t believe the Descent is happening!
MULTIPLE surprise reactions, yay! Devil's Advocate is such a quintessential 90's film. Great movie. Very rewatchable imo, in large part because of Pacino and Keanu's performances. Some incredible lines in his monologue there at the end, with lots of conceptual stuff to chew on. Looks like you've reached celebrity status in your neighborhood. If I lived there I would also completely trust you with any kind of theming or seasonal things like that. Total pro. That festival looked cute as hell. Congrats!
Thanks Cassie, get a good nights sleep.
I don't mind a bit of 90s Al Pacino ham. And, that is quite the bit of work fot the festival!
Glad you’re doing Abbott and Costello, now I can sit down with the family and watch a Halloween movie with them and you. The other ones they just didn’t want to watch, they're not into the scary stuff.
"I'm a FAN'a man!" ...and of Al Pacino going ham.
Peak Pacino.
Looks like a great time at your festival Cassie, At the Children's Hospital they play dress up every floor does like the cancer unit does their own thing. They paint each other's faces. Nothing scary of course. All nurses dress up but the nurses already have to wear masks because of the measles out break. Your festival looks you had a fun time. Since we are nearing the end of the end of the month we have one more week. Sense and Sensibility was most likely the best movie we watched last month. As for your lineup. The Decent is one of the best horror movies ever made. It's original, major influence on pop culture and scary hope you don't have a fear of, I being told to stop there. Ok Abbot and Costello..... CLASSIC! I don't think The Devil's Advocate is a good idea unless you plan on having no comments, you already have people breaking your rule about No Religion. Listen I have seen this movie, I watched Kat watch it. As much as my gf and I love your channel and love to watch movies with you. We have to sit the Devil's Advocate out. This is not like They Live which I tried to return to Blockbuster and that I absolutely have no comment on or have no opinion about. I don't want to ruin it or give anything away. All I can say isI I am ---'s. My last video that I did last Monday I talked about how your channel and Kats channel were were so uplifting. How great your channels both were I talked about what my gf and I sending for Christmas. Popcorn and a book that deals with end of the golden age of Hollywood. Anyway I am starting to doze off now. Dogs can be fun to sleep with especially when the sprawl out and role around.
A Night of the Living Dead ’68 reaction on Halloween would be a great way to finish off October 😉 😱 🎃
YES!! Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein! Thank you, Cassie! Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!
and thankyou!
So, the surprise reaction was Paranormal activity?? I requested that too!!!
This is as solid a lineup as I remember in some many months - love it!!
Yesss! Abbott and Costello! I loved that movie as a kid. The Devil’s Advocate is ok, I can live without The Descent.
Cassie handling the FALL Festival -AND- The Descent. Your powers are growing beyond control.
YES !!!! Abbott and Costello!!!!!!!!
I'm simultaneously impressed by, worried for, and grateful to, Cassie, for the sacrifice. I wàs really hoping What We Do In The Shadows fared better in the polls, Cassie would I think love that movie!
finally, THE DESCENT!!! CANNOT WAIT, You can all thank me for voting and requesting that!!! Let the suffering begin!!
Vanity, definately my favorite sin.
I liked this one! Looking forward to Cassie's reaction!
Man I wish I was at that fun Halloween festival thing! Looks fun. I hope this isn't the last scary week of movies but if it is it's been great this year.
Only one i've seen is The Descent which I'm pleased is getting a watch, some nightmare fuel in that one 😵💫. Probably for the best you sprinkle some lighter films, hopefully my net holds up this halloween quiz as it was good fun last time til it dropped out.
Ooh you gotta see Devil's Advocate. 90's classic. Pretty heavy though, But in a fun, pulpy way.
I would be one of those advocating for the director’s cut of The Descent but it doesn’t appear to be available for streaming in North America. It’s a shame because Neil Marshall’s intended ending is far more powerful than the neutered, studio-mandated ending that was released in theaters. I’d honestly rather see an audible called. A good alternative would be another film by Neil Marshall, Dog Soldiers.
This. Exactly this.
Running around like a demon possessed, or maybe like a Pterobuzzard flying lose around a grocery store trying to eat Scorpion-Flies.
I am curious about The Descent. Being in charge of a big neighborhood fall festival for over 200 people sounds demanding (and impressive). I guess these 3 movies are the final scary movies of this October.
Maybe the ultimate horror movie about caves and chicks rappelling.
In honor of Tom Skerritt (Alien, Steel Magnolias, and Top Gun) I'd like to suggest A River Runs Through It (1992). He stars along with Brad Pitt and is one of many great films directed by Robert Redford.
For the Tenderest of Novembers.
The Devil’s Advocate—brace yourself! I saw it way back in the 90s and have never forgotten it 🔥
Im sorry Barbara I was wrong. It's huge hog beast. This is your handwriting. You wrote this in Mr Getty's class. He's a huge hog beast. He probably east a thousand pancake for breakfast.
Devils advocate is great but descent has some good jump scares
So glad the audible on Abbott and Costello got called! Thanks Cassie!
Me to!
That festival looks like a fun time. Good work. Glad the weather cleared. I'm hoping the rain doesn't spoil halloween night, as I worked pretty hard helping my older brother set up all his animatronics and other yard decor. Lot of lifting and hammering stakes lol. Keanu and Al chewing scenery in the devil's advocate. Yes please! Lol. Never seen the descent myself. Look forward to it 👍
ah, finally! my favorite movie, The Descen!
Looks like a great neighborhood festival! Quite frankly, I don’t know where you find the time. Between being a mom and wife, the channel, and organizing all this? Good for you Cassie! I’m not a horror movie fan, so I’ll be happy when October is over too! Kudos for picking some pretty scary stuff this year! I will be passing on most of it though 😉
If you haven't already recorded your reaction for The Decent, I'd recommend watching the Unrated Cut.
I second the Unrated cut. Just saw that one at the theatre for the Fangoria Staff Pick a few months ago. This is the version most fans approve of.
I recommend Keanu Reeves again in Ballerina of John Wick 🙏.
Yeah since she did all 4 John wicks ballerina would be fantastic and I think she’d like it
Oh boy. Lol Can't wait for the Descent.
Finally!!!!! The Devil's Advocate!!!! Worship that?!?! NEVER!!
Worship what?
