May '26 Progress Report
Phew! I just got back from the most recent Gotta Catch 'Em All Game Show (see above photos from our trip), and I'm equal parts content and exhausted!
WHAT'S NEW ON THE PATREON?
Just the one post this month! I hope to have a few more posts in June.
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO?
The very beginning of the month was MagicCon, which was a blast. It was great to say hey to a few of you on the show floor! And, as always, I took almost zero photos of my time there. But I did trade my playmat with Brian David-Marshall, which is a major highlight.
The middle of the month had Karen and I working on pitch prep and a few other writing gigs. I also have been noodling away at two songs; one is a theme song for a non-BDG project, and the other is for the Pumpkin Cowboy show.
Last week, I was in Seattle for the Pokémon show, and this time, Karen got to come along! That meant I actually left my hotel room on this trip, and we could enjoy Seattle for a day or two. Seattle is a beautiful city! There was also a Pikmin event at the Aquarium, so you know we had to go.
WHAT'S UP NEXT?
Early this coming month, one of the projects that Karen and I worked on YEARS ago finally comes out! We're excited for people to watch it, and also excited to be able to point at something and say "Hey, see? We actually do write stuff!"
June should have slightly less work travel, and I want to take advantage of as much of that home time as I can. Make a video, write some music for the Pumpkin Cowboy show, and try to juggle a few other writing projects. I'll also be preparing for a competition that's being run by a different YouTuber, and I'll be sure to tell you all about that when it's up.
WHAT'S UP AFTER JUNE?
A little pause! As I mentioned in my Brian Brecommends video, I'll be pausing the Patreon in July and August because I'll be traveling for a big chunk of those months!
First, I'll be in Amsterdam for MagicCon, followed by London for the Roundhouse Comedy Festival! I'm extremely excited for both of those events, and Karen and I will be having a nice vacation as we move between the cities in the intervening weeks. After that, I'll most likely be traveling again for Pokémon XP, though it isn't set in stone just yet!
I'll be back in September, with hopefully less work travel and more home-based work! I do enjoy traveling for work, but it's so much easier to get YouTube work done when I'm not doing it on the move.
I will pause this Patreon on July 1st and again on August 1st, skipping two of the monthly payments. I will most likely still post a quick progress report or two, and we will back to normal in September!
I'll also say this in the next progress report, but I figured I'd give an early heads up.
SEE YA!

hey Brian, please remember to sleep XD <3
Making it a whole European travel vacation is a *brilliant* idea, I hope you two have an excellent time in-between! If you’re in Amsterdam anyway, Delft is only 55 miles away and it has a big historic pottery scene (think white tankards with blue decorative work). I’ll try to come up with some London suggestions in the meantime (though it’s been a couple of years since I last went!)
I'm so glad you loved Seattle! I haven't been to the pikmin event yet but i am sooooo crazy excited for it :-3
Ooo, what a great collaboration tease! Delighted to hear you're doing more things that you don't have to be in charge of, since you seem to enjoy it!
What! Seattle! Right when I got home to Washington from school in LA? Talk about coincidences
your hair looks SO good in the gotta catch em all host outfit? gorgeous curls
