May 2025 Progress Report + Another Pause!
TL;DR I AM ONCE AGAIN PAUSING THE PATREON FOR A MONTH BECAUSE OF OTHER WORK! Billing is paused today and will start back up on June 30th! More info below!
Hello hello lovely Patreon members. I'm skipping the "What's new on Patreon" because there is literally nothing new on the Patreon from this month (I'll post my Brian Brecommends in the coming days), and I'll tell you why in the next section.
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO?
At the very beginning of the month, Karen and I took a trip to Reykjavík for her birthday, which was a dream. I've wanted to visit the country for many years, and we also saw so many sweet little cats walking around the city (pics above).
After coming back, I hopped straight into work for the next season of Um, Actually—fact checking takes a lot of time! Most of the workday has been spent on that, leaving the evenings and weekends for video work. As a result, I haven't made quite as much progress on the Unraveled-y video as I'd hoped. That's still very much top priority, but I'm definitely not at the editing stage as I had predicted last month.
WHAT ARE YOU UP TO NEXT?
First off, I'll be pausing the Patreon for June! Between the Um, Actually shoot, and MagicCon Vegas, and another project that I can't say but you will know about at the end of June, I accept that I won't have as much time to devote to the Patreon. I quite literally do not have a free weekend until July 5th! How fun.
I'll still have an update at the end of the month, and I'll still be working on the Unraveled-y video, and I'll probably be working on another personal video project (I'm really excited about trying a more regular/repeatable cooking-ish video), but I don't want to make you all pay for a month that I already know will be too busy.
ANYTHING ELSE?
I can finally talk about the shoot I was away for in April: I was a small part in an indie film with a bunch of very cool actors who are all way more famous than me! You can read about it here (the first time I've ever shown up in a Deadline article), and I'm sure I'll be posting more about it whenever we're closer to release.
