Book Club?
I am getting back to reading for fun and was wondering if any of you would be interested in doing a book club?
I would be doing discussion posts here. And doing live “meetup” once a week on one of the major platforms (probably TikTok or Facebook).
Any interest in this?
Suggestions to make it work are welcome too.

I just belong on Facebook and blue sky. I even opted out of Instagram a while back. I've never been on tiktok. I even tried twitter, before musk took it over, and was only there for a couple of weeks as I found it difficult to know what the heck I was doing there! I do agree with Timbrely Pearsley, though, about trying to find a reply to a comment because it doesn't usually take you right to that specific spot in the thread a lot of times.

I love this and would also try and participate. I listen to a lot of audio books. I think choosing a platform like Discord or Zoom to do the meetups would be better.

Great idea, but i'd suggest using Discord over tiktok or facebook. It's the superior platform for folks who are a) real and who b) use their real brains
Tbh I have really struggled with discord. I freely admit is totally possible I am in the minority. I am neurodivergent and never assume my glitches are mainstream. lol I have several groups who use it and I’ve never been able to fully engage with them because I have been unsuccessful navigating the interface. Since it is so popular I suspect I am missing something, but really I click around randomly to find anything. On the surface it seems very logical: different groups divided into conversations on the left and convos on the right, but when I try to use it I don’t find what I’m looking for. I am in constant fear I’ll break some rule. 🤦🏻♀️ If I had a say, I would prefer to not use TikTok though. I would rather try to learn Discord (and miss something) than to use TikTok. I’m just not a fan of the chaos. Again, maybe it’s just me, but I’ve only seen TT as short attention span theater and don’t understand how it could be a discussion forum. Of course FB’s comment threads are difficult to navigate as well once you get into embedded replies. As soon as people have replied to a reply to a reply the notification becomes unable to link directly to the specific reply and it is difficult or impossible to find what the person was replying to. ;) I don’t think they planned for side chats very well. And with the app defaulting back to “most relevant” at will even after on selects “all comments” while drilling through embedded replies it becomes even harder to drill down through side chats. That might be an app-only issue. So I may have talked you into Discord to my disadvantage. 🤦🏻♀️
